When I entered crucible for the first time, I did the quest with Hirrus Clutumus, and killed him. After that, I checked the graveyard, to see his grave, and saw Bolwing's grave! I never even saw him, let alone talk to him! What happened?--Arch-Mage Matt 03:32, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Could have been almost anything. NPCs are known to get into accidental scrapes with the guards, so it might have been something like that. –Eshe^talk 00:08, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Two Glitches in One!

In my game, I met up with Bolwing. All went normal(for Bolwing, at least) until I hit "Rumors". Not only did he not speak gibberish, he spoke about the Anvil chapel attack! Isn't that a Cyrodiil-only rumor? 71.239.150.223 17:53, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I've seen a few cases like this. The scripting that changes him from gibberish to normal speech is a little weak. If you attack him, for example, he suddenly speaks quite fluently! I believe the Unofficial Oblivion Patch on the PC fixes some of these issues, but I'm not sure if even that got everything.

To answer the second part of that, there are supposed to be a number of people outside of Anvil who speak about the Anvil chapel attack. In particular, the game seems to target male Wood Elves, High Elves, and Dark Elves for some reason. The UOP specifically mentions tightening up the Rumours and not having them appear on a lot of people they shouldn't, but without testing, I can't say for sure if it caught Bolwing or not. ‒ Robin Hood↝Talk 00:18, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

It would seem whatever causes the glitch is randomly timed, and not just limited to Rumors. First time I talked to him, his conversation options were normal, and he spoke gibberish. But recently, he had Prophet as a conversation topic, and spoke on that topic as if he were from Cyrodil, while still speaking fribble for Rumors. EmmBee 14:34, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
