Quick Walkthrough[edit]
- Read Guard Dossier: Aesrael at the Falkreath Barracks.
- Go to Aesrael's camp near Sunderstone Gorge and obtain his key.
- Open Aesrael's chest and pick up the Elven Hunter Armor.
Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
Once you've installed the Alternative Armors - Elven Hunter Creation, you will receive a miscellaneous objective to search the Falkreath Barracks for a bounty. Once there, read Guard Dossier: Aesrael which will grant you the quest and direct you to the forests west of Sunderstone Gorge.
Once there, locate Aesrael's camp. You must obtain Aesrael's Key from him, either by pickpocketing or killing him. Note that both Aesrael and his pet wolf Dusk will be hostile.
After the key is obtained, use it to open the chest near his tent, which will contain the Elven Hunter Armor, Boots, and Gauntlets, as well a copy of The Crimson Dirks, v7 and some leveled loot.
Notes[edit]
- .The Fishing side quest, “Clear-Headed” overlaps here in the barracks
- The location of Aesrael’s camp overlaps with the final location of the “Redguard Armament Elite” creation that is at the entrance to Sunderstone Gorge. So his wolf "Dusk" may attack while doing that quest.
- This is the lightest Armor in the game.
- After the quest is completed, pieces of Elven Hunter Armor can appear in leveled lists of loot (such as the leveled cuirass in the last chamber of Shroud Hearth Barrow). It will also be added to the inventory of Blacksmiths, who will begin selling pieces of Elven Hunter Armor. In contrast to most other alternative armors, it will not appear in the crafting menu, merchant chests, or the inventory of NPCs before this.

- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
- On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering
