Tell Thane Bryling that the late shipment from Rockwallow Mine will be arriving soon.
Quest Giver: Pactur
Location(s): Stonehills, Solitude
Reward: Gold
ID: FreeformStonehillsA

"Buy us some time and keep her off our backs."

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Speak to Pactur and agree to deliver his message to Bryling.
  2. Speak to Bryling about the late shipment and receive a reward.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

Go to Stonehills and speak to Pactur inside Sorli's House. Ask him if he owns the mine, then continue the conversation until he asks you to take a message to Bryling. It doesn't matter what choices you make in the preceding conversation, all of them lead to Pactur asking to deliver the message.

Go to Solitude and find Thane Bryling, either at the Blue Palace by day, or at her house nearby at night. Tell her you have a message from Pactur. After informing her that the shipment will arrive soon, Bryling will reward you with a small amount of gold.

Notes[edit]

  • Despite Pactur mentioning he will let you take ingots as a reward for delivering the message to Bryling, you can already take the ingots around the smelter without penalty.
  • With either Hearthfire or the Unofficial Skyrim Patch installed, Pactur will move to Morthal if Sorli takes over as Jarl.

Stage Finishes Quest Journal Entry
Notes
* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the Radiant Quest system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
  • If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
  • On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering setstage FreeformStonehillsA stage, where stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages, but it is possible to clear all stages of the quest using resetquest FreeformStonehillsA.
