Cleanup required[edit]

This article is unreadable, someone should clean this up. Cokeman 18:54, 13 November 2011 (UTC)

Cleanup has been done. You could have done it yourself, though! Wolok gro-Barok 19:25, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
I don't have the knowledge required to make well structured wiki pages with several images and sections, but thanks. Cokeman 00:36, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

really kind hearted[edit]

Will i be able to protect him from all threat? (Vvardfell 05:48, 1 April 2012 (UTC))

As long as his death isn't scripted in some way, I don't see why not. You might have a hard time protecting him though, seeing as he is only level 1. Wolok gro-Barok 22:06, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
It's scripted, if he makes it to the spiked wall he will activated it. The Silencer has spokenTalk 22:09, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
While I don't doubt that's developer's intent, a similar situation could be found for a certain quest in Oblivion, where it was possible for an NPC to circumvent his scripted death. Wolok gro-Barok 22:18, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
Touché, you'll need to move quick as he is quite quick, activate the trap before he gets there and hope that none of the draugr kill him, then get to the swinging blades trap before him and deactivate that. The Silencer has spokenTalk 22:32, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
What happens if you manage to save him from all that, calm him and then pickpocket the claw from him to advance the quest? Will he just stay there? --178.1.115.130 12:22, 23 June 2013 (GMT)
I have been wondering about this as well. Actually what I thought of doing was getting Dragonborn:Mora's Grasp first, then use that on him, kill all the draugr before he gets back up and try to block the trap. I don't think you would have to calm him because he's not hostile, he just runs away. --Morrolan (talk) 18:20, 17 July 2013 (GMT)

() Well I was wrong. I just succeeded in keeping him alive through all the draugr, stopping him from being killed by the swinging trap, and he went hostile and tried to attack me. So you would need to get a calm spell as well. --Morrolan (talk) 00:43, 26 September 2013 (GMT)

Why is this marked as a good question? The intent of the game is to kill him if he gets away from you so that you can get the claw. There is no good reason to go to major exertions to save him, other than just for curiosity's sake. --Xyzzy Talk 03:25, 26 September 2013 (GMT)

why am I trying to save this thief?[edit]

I cut him down, ran ahead, killed the drauger, stepped on the switch and stayed there to prevent him touching it. He gets hostile. I cast calm. He runs past me. He's now safely past the spike wall. I race past him. I run through the swinging blades. Deactivate them. Run back to kill the drauger he's fighting. He still has the green glow of calm about him. I run ahead to kill more drauger and activate the fire trap that I know is coming....

He's not following anymore?

I turn back to find the swinging blades reactivated and he is lying dead on the ground.

I think his death is scripted. — Unsigned comment by 172.56.4.10 (talk) at 01:53 on 31 October 2015 (UTC)
