Aspiring Mage Encounter

I met this mage just south of winterhold, on my way to Saarthal. Same staff.70.48.169.219 16:43, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

I also met him but in the opposite direction, one map pointers distance southeast of Broken Tower Redoubt — Unsigned comment by RaW (talk • contribs) on 26 April 2012

And I met him just east of Glenmoril Coven. However, he sold me the Staff of Revenants and not the Staff of Reanimation. The former is more powerful than the latter. Perhaps the staff is leveled? Quill 18:01, 17 June 2012 (UTC)

It's leveled. The Revenants staff is used at level 34. Silence is Golden^{Break the Silence} 14:36, 17 February 2013 (GMT)

Only one chance to get the Staff?

I encountered him southwest of Morthal, and failed the persuasion check to get the staff from him. Now when I talk to him the conversation ends after either the "That's quite a staff you have there" or "Yes, it's painfully obvious..." options, making it impossible to get the staff without killing him for it. Does he ever appear elsewhere after you've seen him in one location or do you just get the one chance to get it? Lord Nordeck 04:37, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

He's a random encounter, you have another chance of encountering him at another random encounter location. No random encounters have a limit on how many times they can happen. Vely^►t►e 16:32, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

Wish staff was visible

The dialog would make more sense if the guy was actually holding the staff in his hands. When I rode up to him and interacted, he looks like he wants to box someone. 71.131.130.9 18:13, 12 September 2013 (GMT)

Speech Skill Needed?

I don't know the speech skill needed to pass the Persuade option but mine was (Skill) 31 + (Masque of Clavicus Vile) 10 + (Amulet of Dibella) 15 = 56. Anyone either have the raw data or lower experiences feel free to update. Philbert (talk) 23:09, 20 October 2014 (GMT)
