Stats[edit]

Belyn Hlaalu belongs to the Farmer class and the primary skills that are listed on his page characterize that class. In Creation Kit his stats are different, Destruction being 25, Illusion=20, Alteration=20, while Smithing and Enchanting only 19. However he is coded as Unaggressive, and when it comes to fighting he prefers to run, call for help and defend himself with his fists if cornered - I have not seen him using spells at all. I checked his stats in game with the getav command and they are exactly as in the Creation Kit. I already bothered Nephele with this question: on her page and she referred me to a cool CS vs In-Game discrepancies page. From that page it is clear that the in-game values are preferable. In this particular case they are the same as in the CK. I am wondering what to do with this information concerning NPC pages? --Shuryard 02:41, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

I would interpret this to mean that the information on the page currently is just wrong. Assuming both CS and ingame values match and are different from the page, then I'd hazard to say this necessitates a change to the page to reflect it. Thuraya Salaris 03:00, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
The thing that bothers me is that his primary skill is Destruction then, Alchemy=24 being the second one and then Sneak and Light Armor both being 21, while he is a farmer... --Shuryard 03:14, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
I'm feeling a bit foolish right now -- because I'd been thinking all this time that Belyn was a puzzle, that his stats weren't being auto-calculated even though everything says they should be auto-calced. Turns out, they are indeed being auto-calc'ed, and have been all along, I just wasn't bothering to think about what the math really would work out to. In particular, I hadn't stopped to think about how racial skill bonuses would compare to per-level increases from class skills.
In other words, his top skill is destruction because he's a Dunmer. All Dunmer (including NPCs) get a +10 destruction bonus -- so all Dunmer automatically start with a destruction skill of 25. At level 4 none of his other skills have increased enough to be larger than 25. It has nothing to do with being a farmer.
But the good news is that I think now know what the equations are that are used to calculate NPC stats, i.e., health, magicka, stamina, and all skills. However I won't be feeding that info into the bot tonight.... --NepheleTalk 08:11, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
