Pickpocketing Forsworn Briarheart[edit]

If you pickpocket the briar heart from a Forsworn Briarheart, he will instantly die :) — Unsigned comment by 143.107.229.249 (talk) at 17:10 on 3 December 2011

That sounds funny as hell- I can't wait to give it a try. Too bad you can't pickpocket Human Hearts from other NPCs with the same effect... Actually, that would be a pretty amusing Level 100 Pickpocket Perk- Organ Thief. 209.66.120.3 18:43, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

found on forsworn[edit]

I dont think I have ever found a heart on anyone besides a forsworn briarheart or hagraven. I dont believe lesser minions ever carry this item--Lord.Baal 06:42, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

Item related bug[edit]

There is a bug related to the briar heart associated with containers and alchemy. For some reason after the quest to obtain a briar heart is complete, if you have multiple hearts, they may not lose their quest status which means that you won't be able to drop them or put them into containers, and you won't be able to use them in alchemy. The bug may happen if you have briar hearts in a container in your house but none on you when you get the quest. If you then remove all the hearts from the container, they may all get the quest status. Subsequent additions of hearts will cause the additional hearts to also become bugged. — Unsigned comment by 24.2.39.221 (talk) at 20:03 on 7 December 2011

I tested the workaround via Console:
 player.removeitem 3ad61 <amount of your hearts> and then
player.additem 3ad61 <amount you want> and it fixes it quite well.

If you do not need one of them, and don't want to use console. It simply removed by eaten. — Unsigned comment by 119.64.195.8 (talk) at 01:46 on 22 February 2012
There is a way to remove the briar hearts on xbox 360. Kill the forsworn briarheart, then eat his briar heart from his inventory. After that you should be able to eat the briar hearts from your own inventory. — Unsigned comment by 178.55.224.85 (talk) at 21:35 on 22 February 2012

It's not their heart[edit]

The Briar Heart is not the human's heart as said in the article. South of the Bard's Leap, if you sneak up to two Hagravens you can witness the ritual of creation of a Forsworn Briarheart. On the table, you will find a human heard, suggesting that the Hagraves removed it and place a Briar Heart in it's place. — Unsigned comment by 109.99.107.212 (talk) on 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Doesn't that mean it now *is* their heart? 209.66.120.3 22:48, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
Yes it does. — Unsigned comment by 69.152.36.231 (talk) at 12:27 on 6 January 2012 (UTC)
It's not literally their heart, although it serves that purpose after being implanted...
I guess I'm interpreting too much. — Unsigned comment by 109.99.107.195 (talk) at 19:05 on 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Pickpocketing bug[edit]

I am encountering crashes when stealing their 'hearts' but only sometimes; usually in peculiar situations where one character detects me but others don't and the Briars have their weapon drawn. Anybody else experiencing this, or perhaps even have a fix? It is the only thing that seems to crash my game these days with all these stability modifications out. 108.175.88.68 23:34, 1 October 2014 (GMT)

Can't say I've ever heard of a similar occurrence...are you using any mods other than unofficial patches? Does it happen when you try to pickpocket other items too? If you can narrow it down to a single cause through testing it might be easier to determine a fix. Zul se onikaanLaan tinvaak 15:49, 2 October 2014 (GMT)
I do have quite a few mods, nothing that I would expect to cause this sort of crash though. I haven't had enough instances of the crash to have a large list of possibilities. All the narrowing down I've managed so far is to situations where I repeatedly attempt to steal a briar heart and keep trying until I succeed. Previously I had not realized it was briar related. I make my attempts either through copious amounts of invisibility potions to escape failed attempts as well as quick saves. 108.175.88.68 19:05, 2 October 2014 (GMT)
