Can't plant in garden[edit]

Someone should note that the Gleamblossom can only be harvested in the wild - it cannot be grown in a garden or greenhouse. [Xbox 360] — Unsigned comment by 107.5.56.155 (talk) at 09:37 on 1 March 2013‎

It is mentioned at Skyrim:Greenhouse#Food_and_Ingredients. No ingredients added by other DLCs can be planted in the garden plots. Same goes for all the Dragonborn ingredients. — TheRealLurlock (talk) 12:59, 1 March 2013 (GMT)
I know this is 4 years late, but shouldn't we still mention it? I had no idea that page existed - going from searching "Fear" then navigating to the Skyrim:Fear (Effect) page and seeing a list of ingredients. It's not obvious that DLC ingredients can't be planted (unless you come to the discussion page which I'm sure a lot of people don't know about). I propose we just have a Notes section explaining this and linking to Skyrim:Greenhouse#Food_and_Ingredients like on other pages. Falconerd (talk) 11:11, 28 December 2017 (UTC)
Only 1 in 4 of all ingredients can be planted. Given our preference for "if it isn't stated it doesn't happen", the 26 ingredients have an admittedly small addition to the summary box, and that could be expanded to a note on the page as the box is not clear in what it is saying. I can also see making additions to the effects pages (eg Fear) about which, if any of the ingredients can be planted/farmed, which is far more useful than knowing which ones will give it by eating (1st effect). I much prefer those options that list a use, than adding a note on 80+ pages that lists a non-use. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 19:13, 28 December 2017 (UTC)
