Daedra worshipers?[edit]

Wonder how many Daedric artifacts you need to have acquired before these priests become hostile toward you. I went here before and after finishing my first Daedric quest, they were slightly verbally hostile after. Also if this isn't a setup for a future DLC, I'd be surprised. Are you a fortune teller? Because yes, it is related to Dawnguard.

They don't become hostile, I have completed and collected all 15 Daedric Artifacts, they never become hostile. However they do say something along the lines of: Stendarr's Mercy isn't extended for Daedra worshipers. Not a direct quote but something similar to that. --Lore Master 16:27, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
Edit: Just checked the Skyrim page actually it seems like just a normal greeting for them so I guess nothing changes after all. --Lore Master 16:30, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Hall of the Vigilant still accessible before level 10[edit]

I just went there for the very first time because I wanted to see what it looked like destroyed. I was able to get this place to load up just fine, got my daedra heart, skill book and raided the ingredient stock. I used the Alchemy table to level myself up to 10, just to see if the location would be attacked around that time. It wasn't. So then I took off to Dawnstar where I met the Orc that extends a personal invite to you. When I came back after speaking with this Orc, the Hall was Destroyed.

Unlike Anvil, the Hall of the Vigilant isn't destroyed the moment you make a new game with the add on installed. You just have to visit it before you hit level 10. And as long as you don't leave the area post-level 10 you can see what it looked like before the attack. — Unsigned comment by 50.135.172.120 (talk) at 16:43 on 5 July 2012

I've just visited the Hall of the Vigilant while already at level 10, and it was still intact. I suspect that the hall is only destroyed upon hearing a rumor about the Dawnguard or starting either the Dawnguard quest or the Awakening quest. Player level appears to be irrelevant. --84.84.115.230 14:01, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
I just did some quick testing. I was at level 9 with a levelup waiting. I went to the Hall, it was intact. I saved and leveled up to 12 (I had 3 levelups waiting from smithing a bunch of rings) and nothing happened. I entered the Hall and exited and nothing happened. I reloaded the save, entered the hall, leveled, and nothing happened when I exited. I reloaded the save, went to Dawnstar, leveled, fast-traveled back, and the hall was intact. Then it disappeared, and nothing was there at all. I started to run towards where it had been, and the destroyed Hall appeared. 174.251.241.176 23:16, 19 September 2012 (GMT)

Map in basement[edit]

Has anyone examined the map in the basement? It seems the larger dots are Hold Capitals but many of the smaller dots do not line up with the hamlets and villages scattered around Skyrim. Kremlin16 (talk) 04:16, 14 November 2012 (GMT)

Door to the interior cell no longer working with re-installation of Dawnguard[edit]

So had the glitch with Dawnguard that caused me to delete the expansion, despite just completing it yesterday. The glitch was where the Greybeards send you to the word wall high up in the mountains for one of the Drain Vitality shouts and it doesn't update on your quest list being there forever despite having all three words the shout.

After I uninstalled it, loaded the game, saved, loaded it back up with Dawnguard back installed and re-visited the now fixed hall, I can't open the door as it's not registering as a door. I loaded up an autosave to see if I could fix the door, unfortunatly the door still doesn't work. I wonder if it has anything to do with being destroyed on a previous save, then removal of the expansion, and now it loads like it's broken?--67.185.108.121 08:41, 2 February 2013 (GMT)

Was able to fix the above problem by reinstalling again this time through the in-game add-on's instead of download history.--67.185.108.121 17:16, 2 February 2013 (GMT)

reverse dawnguard changes[edit]

anybody know the commands to restore the hall? like reload the cell to get the non destroyed building back? I finished dawnguard and it buggs me that it never got rebuilt the same way helgen does. but no mod seems to exist for the vigil. can I disable the ruins and enable the original structure? I can spawn vigils myself with place at me and enable keeper but not sure how to do the building — Unsigned comment by 24.38.217.116 (talk) at 14:06 on 24 September 2013

I thought there must be some way to revert it - it behaves very similarly to Bloated Man's Grotto. So, I dug in to the Creation Kit and found the reference for the original building. If you want it back, just type "xx003531".enable and voila! It will reset anything in the exterior whenever you enable/disable it, so any vigilants you killed will be alive again and the inventories of the dead vampire corpses will be reset. Also, the boss chest on the interior is moved to the exterior after the hall is destroyed for the first time, so if you walk inside you won't find it.If you want to get at it, you can just move it with prid 0010F7BB. --71.220.92.65 06:11, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

Clearable?[edit]

Can someone w/out Dawnguard confirm that the Hall is clearable? 99.43.132.231 20:14, 24 May 2014 (GMT)

Playing an unpatched XBox version and yeah it's clearable. Kill all of the Vigilants to clear it. GrievousGrimalkin (talk) 17:11, 25 July 2014 (GMT)
Is it clearable after the vampire attack? —Legoless (talk) 14:54, 26 July 2014 (GMT)
I don't believe so, there is no-one to kill. Biffa (talk) 17:00, 26 July 2014 (GMT)
Not even that - I just COC'd myself into the cell as in two playthroughs I've not had the presence of mind to get there before level 10, and figured I'd try it out. Killed all the vigilants in there (absolutely certain I got them all), but the map doesn't register it as cleared. I wonder if dawnguard makes it non-clearable (to find out you'd have to go there before level 10 and take them all out, or probably easier, check the creation kit). — Unsigned comment by 121.45.242.9 (talk) at 16:23 on 7 August 2014 (GMT)
To clear it you also need to kill the 2 vigilants outside the building so "COC-ing" to the cell after the vampire attack wont be enough to clear it. Personally i cleared it at lvl 2 with Dawnguard installed.Laki (talk) 18:22, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

Are there any other locations that change because of player leveling?[edit]

I think it would be useful to confirm or deny this. 90.199.112.22 19:13, 19 September 2020 (UTC)
