Imperial Soldier descriptions[edit]

I have encountered Imperial Soldiers in a few locations, and would like to start adding some of the info I've discovered to this page. However, I'm not sure how to proceed. I notice that each soldier has a different BaseID, but I don't know how to correlate that to a soldier I encounter in-game. Can someone point me in the right direction? --Xyzzy 05:15, 16 April 2012 (UTC)

Female Imperial Soldier[edit]

The only female "Imperial Soldier" seen in-game (that I know of) is one of the two Imperial soldiers that shoots down Lokir in Helgen at the start of the game. She has ref id 00105ee3. I'm not sure if there's any relation with 00105ee2. ~ Psylocke 11:01, 1 January 2013 (GMT)

First off, there are no female legionnaires of any type that are random. The only three you ever see are Legate Rikke, your archer, and the one going all Red Queen at you in the intro. There may be several "retired" female legionaries, but the only two you see in uniform are Rikke, Red Queen, and the archer. I have examined the setup myself and even made a released mod to rectify this oddity in light of gender egalitarianism in the Stormcloaks (the only voice type with any female dialog is FemaleNord, like Danica Pure-Spring's, and even then it's not completely covered). Second, the entire system is randomized. Skyrim has a lot of features from Fallout 3/Fallout NV that aren't in Oblivion; in this particular case, nested actor/leveled actor templates. It allows for pre-placed actors to be randomized without having to rely on generated-on-the-spot actor refs that cause savegame clutter. --MadCat221 (talk) 03:54, 4 January 2013 (GMT)

Problems with Dead Thrall?[edit]

I have been playing with an Xbox based RP Legion Healer, and decided I'd expand my group by thralling two Legionnaires, only they seem to be more prone than any other thralls I have used in the past to disappearing. This usually occurs when I enter a cell. In my active effects it still shows up as 'Reanimate Thrall,' and currently I supposedly have four active; however none are to be found. NPCs are consistently reminding me that I am surrounded by dangerous magic, and that I should be careful, but there seems to be no fix other than waiting for the remaining 47929 hours for the spell to timeout. I don't know if this is due to the Imperial Soldiers corpses being set to despawn faster for civil war purposes, or maybe a bug worsened by Patch 1.9, but I thought it might be worth mentioning.

(I have also tried Thralling other corpses, with which I have no problem) MadAndyD (talk) 19:57, 14 April 2013 (GMT)

Check the Dead Thrall and Reanimate pages. They're prone to disappearing if you have two of the same kind. From the Reanimate page: "Thralls may get lost. To remove the "Reanimate Thrall" active effect, get arrested, transform into a werewolf or vampire lord, or cast another temporary reanimation spell." Vely►t►e 20:01, 14 April 2013 (GMT)
I noticed that since patch 1.9. Thralls now disappear almost all the time if you travel by foot or horse, unless you never, ever sprint and look back frequently to make sure they aren't lost. -- Elakyn (talk) 20:27, 14 April 2013 (GMT)

No Level?[edit]

Why is the level for these soldiers unknown? I don't know how to use CSlist, but I was curious about this since most NPCs levels are known to the wiki.64.135.48.170 15:10, 6 May 2013 (GMT)

Working on that. My bot was able to help, but there appear to be a number of discrepancies, so I'm just going through them now. Robin Hood  (talk) 22:03, 6 May 2013 (GMT)

There's no discussion[edit]

Why is the link to the talk page still there? It's already been verified that the only female imperials are unique NPC's such as Legate Rikkie, Imperial Captain, etc.64.135.48.170 15:27, 6 May 2013 (GMT)

I'll be doing a page update shortly, and will remove it. Robin Hood  (talk) 22:02, 6 May 2013 (GMT)

Redguard Legionnaires?[edit]

I've seen what I believe are Redguard Legionnaires (I play on 360 so no mods). I've seen several in the Imperial camps and also randomly spawning during Fort battles. At first I thought they were dark-skinned Imperials, but there are several differences: a) the supposed Redguard Legionnaires have much darker skin that the darkest available option for Imperials, b) all Imperial-race Legionnaires have the exact same voice, but the supposed Redguards have a different one (that matches most Redguard NPCs, I might add), and c) all Imperial-race Legionnaires have the same nose shape, whereas the supposed Redguards have a different one (which is much flatter than those available for Imperials). Can someone who plays on PC check the race of those Legionnaires? I've taken several pictures if anyone would like an Imgur link to check their appearance. Draevan13 (talk) 16:26, 7 May 2016 (UTC)

Missing BaseID?[edit]

Hi I was reading through this and I came across this soldier. How is it possible that he does not have a RefID or a BaseID? How did we even get this information? 96.232.204.132 15:02, 15 May 2016 (UTC)

Good spot! It appears to have been 000AA8D5, and it was correct in early versions of the page, but it looks like I accidentally removed during a massive page update. I've reinstated it. Oh and as for how we got the information, it all comes directly from the game data, which you can view either via the Creation Kit or through CSList. Robin Hood  (talk) 19:22, 15 May 2016 (UTC)
