Unused Marker[edit]

Why was the marker added to the page again? It is unused and can't be seen in the game. So far any other place pages show exactly the marker that can be seen ingame. --Alfwyn (talk) 15:56, 2 November 2012 (GMT)

It seems like a better idea than leaving it with no marker. Should a note be added explaining its absence? —Legoless (talk) 16:03, 2 November 2012 (GMT)
I don't think that we should add a wrong marker, that we have to explain afterwards. I see nothing wrong with a place page that doesn't have a marker. --Alfwyn (talk) 16:26, 2 November 2012 (GMT)
It just seems odd to me to exclude a marker specifically designed for a place. Perhaps it would be better to move it out of the infobox entirely and into the notes section? —Legoless (talk) 18:14, 2 November 2012 (GMT)
Adding a mapicon also adds the location to the Discoverable category, which is wholly misleading. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 18:34, 2 November 2012 (GMT)
I'm thinking about documenting map markers not implemented in the final game, probably at Test Cells. The mapmarker here could go there too. There is a map marker type called "Falkreath Castle" in the CK with the image used here. But my guess would be the devs dropped it when changing the castle to a longhouse - it's just a guess, but that's all that's left for cut content. Apart from the unused graphics we have map marker names in the "Warehouse Map Markers" and the unused Military Camps (well, two of them). --Alfwyn (talk) 18:48, 2 November 2012 (GMT)
I think having them documented on the Test Cells page or in the Notes section of the respective pages would be fine. Having them in the infobox, however, is not something I agree with. This also applies to Castle Dour. If it's not used in-game, it shouldn't be in the Place Summary box. — ABCface 20:31, 2 November 2012 (GMT)
Also Skyrim:Jarl's Longhouse (Winterhold), if we're listing the pages. —Legoless (talk) 20:32, 2 November 2012 (GMT)

() Another page where it might be suitable to list the icons, if not on the Test Cells page or in the Notes section of the respective pages, would be Skyrim:Maps, since that's where other map icons are displayed with a legend. — ABCface 20:35, 2 November 2012 (GMT)

Well, I documented them for now at Test Cells. There is nothing for the longhouse in Winterhold, "Winterhold Castle" is the name for the mapmarker of the College of Winterhold. As far as I can tell, the supposed map marker for Castle Dour is completely original research. Additionally to in the CK, the names can be found slightly altered in a file hudmenu.gfx (City00, FalkreathCastle, MorthalCastle, ...) together with the actual graphics. --Alfwyn (talk) 21:05, 2 November 2012 (GMT)

The Jarl's bed.[edit]

I just did a double-take when I noticed the bed appears to be unowned and I have permission to sleep in it. Even when Siddgeir is sleeping there. Has anyone else noticed this, or is it a weird glitch? Playing with all DLCs, no mods, on XBox, latest version. --Morrolan (talk) 21:56, 19 February 2013 (GMT)

Books in Notes section not consistent[edit]

In my game, the expert-locked display case in the jarl's bedroom contained The Night Mother's Truth, Ghosts in the Storm, and Guide to Better Thieving. Night Falls on Sentinel was not there for me. It's possible that the middle book varies while the other two are static. Sporky (talk) 23:55, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

That information was added about four years ago and apparently never checked. All three books are static—Night Falls on Sentinel is nowhere to be found in the Jarl's longhouse. Thanks for reporting the discrepancy! Robin Hood  (talk) 06:02, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
