Nchuand-Zel accessible before agreeing to kill Nimhe[edit]

I was able to enter Nchuand-Zel by picking the (Adept-level) lock on the excavation site door without having previously spoken to Calcelmo to start the quest and obtain the key. Several pages refer (or allude) to the area being inaccessible before starting this quest:

Interestingly, killing Nimhe before speaking to Calcelmo does not give you a "Nimhe is already dead" conversation option - you first have to agree to the request, then speak to Calcelmo again to tell him she is dead. This indicates that at one point (during development or perhaps prior to a patch) Nchuand-Zel was indeed inaccessible (i.e. the door being unpickable) before accepting the quest.

As I've not performed any major edits on this wiki yet I'd rather have someone confirm the above before I do so :) --Reka 12:42, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

verified myself, and made the edits. --Reka 11:35, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

The add new section button was missing, so I'm placing this here. There are two stone pillars in the relatively large cavern in the excavation that you descend. The shorter of the two had a Dwarven Dagger, a Blacksmith's Draugh, and a piece of Bent Dwemer Scrap Metal on it when I first entered the site. I have not tested whether they respawn or anything, but It's not mentioned here or on the page for the quest where you kill Nimhe. --75.241.178.221 17:55, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Confirmed and added. Philbert (talk) 00:26, 17 October 2012 (GMT)

Micro-sized Falmer?[edit]

After reactivating the Dwemer defenses, I was mopping up any remaining Falmer that managed to survive the battle with the Dwemer constructs in the main zone. One of these Falmer was tiny, like a mini version of all the other humanoid enemies. Even his sword was tiny, even after slaying him. The weapon acted normal and was the right size after I picked it up, however. Was this a glitch or has this happened to anyone else? Not sure if it helps but I'm on the PS3 and it was a Falmer Gloomlurker. Lord Nordeck 23:28, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

Also happened to me. They look so cute, even when they're ripping your face off! — Unsigned comment by 86.183.100.8 (talk) at 21:39 on 23 February 2012
Yup, there are actually three of them visible in the Creation Kit, all set to 60% of their normal size. At a glance, I don't see anything to suggest it's a bug, but it's certainly odd! Robin Hoodtalk 08:15, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
the Notes section describes these minis as "about 1/3" which does not reflect the above stated definitive and verifiable stated "60%" Could this mathematical lapse please be resolved?98.150.205.91 06:44, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
Changed it based on RobinHood's input. The CK is most likely correct. --XyzzyTalk 07:55, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

chest[edit]

If you go straight through the passageway from the door to the excavation site to the stairs directly opposite the door and climb up the rubble (not an easy climb but with the toggle clipping function it should be easy to find) there is a chest half buried. — Unsigned comment by 99.184.95.184 (talk) at 17:06 on 6 July 2012

Unlootable Bug[edit]

In the Armory after looting the chest by Erj and killing the two dwarven automatons that spawn they will be unlootable. I discovered this on my original game with mods, found evidence of it with a google search and turned off all my mods (so only Skyrim and the Update were active), started a clean save and tried it again. Still unlootable. Adding to the bug list on the main page. Vainamoinen -Talk -Stuff 18:58, 21 September 2013 (GMT)

Further searching shows that they have a Parent Activate Only flag set which is the most likely cause.Vainamoinen -Talk -Stuff 19:04, 21 September 2013 (GMT)
I'm playing on the Xbox360 and can confirm that they are unlootable to me. Trying to loot them only causes me to start dragging the peices around. KeturahIshtari (talk) 04:16, 26 September 2013 (GMT)
Thanks for the info, I've updated the article to mark this as a confirmed bug. — ABCface 22:20, 26 September 2013 (GMT)

Spiderweb in Nchuand-Zel Excavation Site.[edit]

I killed Nimhe, and when I went to slash through the spiderweb to get into Nchuand-Zel itself, the spiderweb was indestructible. Reloading from a previous save fixed it. I'm on the PS3 with no DLC. I don't know if this is a glitch spiderwebs in general have, or just this specific one, but I thought I should mention it. 68.231.140.127 22:36, 19 January 2015 (GMT)

Edit: Nevermind, found out the bug is already mentioned on the "The Lost Expedition" quest page. 68.231.140.127 23:16, 19 January 2015 (GMT)

Nimhe, the ore & the "little" spiders respawning[edit]

On the page it says: the ordinary spiders will not reset, but Nimhe, the dead Legionnaire soldier, loot, and ore veins will reset.

However, I found the resetting to be slightly different. The ordinary spiders & Nimhe reset, the dead soldier's loot and the ore vein didn't. It's a peculiar bug.
