Nirya wandering[edit]

So I found Nirya following me down beneath the college's bridge during the Glory of the Dead quest; is this scripted or a glitch? I dunno, maybe i'm supposed to kill her haha. I don't know, any help would be appreciated; I don't want her dying for no reason, and I don't want to have to protect her from snow bears.Tehuberleetmaster 01:01, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

I don't know if that's more or less annoying than what she's doing in my game, rooted in one spot, never moving. It was bad enough when she was standing inside Acano's barrier, now she just stands in the court yard. All day. Forever. 166.216.226.62 06:00, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
ITS A GLITCH! HERE IS THE GAME FIX!

Nirya Dead?[edit]

So, I came to the College and Nirya is lying dead in the courtyard. Is this part of the plot? I've tried talking to a fair number of people and no one mentions it... — Unsigned comment by 72.225.247.239 (talk) at 21:00 on 4 March 2012

She might've been killed in a random dragon attack, or she wandered out of the College, fell off the cliff, and her dead (surprisingly not flat) body just respawned in the courtyard. • JATalk 07:23, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Nirya is just so close [spoilers][edit]

Hello, how's it hanging? [spoiler alert] Look, I am doing the quest where Ancano betrays us, and suddenly Nirya is inside the massive, well, massive ward - like thing. She is trapped, and is oddly not dying. [End of spoilers] Is this scripted? I just wonder that if it is scripted, why not kill Ancano?

Nirya and Ancano [Spoilers!][edit]

Nirya says about Ancano: "Although I do not trust him, he is handsome." She may also say without prompting "I think the College is due for a change in leadership." Could Nirya have connections to the Thalmor? It is stated Savos Aren has not allowed the Synod or Thalmor into the College (dialogue on this somewhere).

Her rivalry with Faralda is evident over hopeful future promotion. Faralda assumes Mirabelle Ervine will take on the Archmage position someday though this seems unlikely since Savos Aren has been Archmage for a very long time. (There are some dating events but need transcripts of dialogue with Aren to confirm.) Being a Dunmer, he is virtually immortal but Mirabelle is a Breton human. Could Nirya and Faralda be plotting or hoping for Aren's demise? Mirabelle likely would not agree or did not as events unfold. It is very convenient that both Savos Aren and Mirabelle are "compromised" while the others are otherwise occupied. 75.249.199.252 23:26, 2 November 2012 (GMT)

Intentional irony? Or removed content?[edit]

I've always thought this quote from her: "I'm sure you've made note of who's been the most helpful during your time here, Arch-Mage." was a little sketchy, given that of all the people living at the College, she is far and away the least helpful. No services, not involved in any quests, and what little dialogue she has is all pretty much pointless. I'm wondering how much more was planned for her that didn't make it in. We know about her rivalry with Faralda (who is actually much more helpful, of course), so I assume that more was intended there, but it seems weird they left in that particular line of dialogue given that she's literally the only person in the entire College who serves no purpose whatsoever. I think it's more irony than anything. It gives the chance to see Nirya as more of a comic relief. It also allows the player to see into her desires (to be closer to, if not THE Arch-Mage). -Light-in-His-Eyes (talk) 23:20, 10 February 2013 (GMT)
They're both gunning for Mirabelle's Job; they were probably expecting that either of them would get in when/if she eventually succeeded (or died before). — Unsigned comment by 216.252.75.210 (talk) at 06:02 on 28 June 2013

Nirya and Sergius[edit]

In the game data, it says that Nirya and Sergius Terranius (sp?) are lovers. Can anyone confirm? I've also heard a conversation between her and Urag about the subject.— Unsigned comment by 41.133.106.235 (talk) at 11:13 on 4 January 2016‎

I've added the relevant conversations.

Unused Dialog[edit]

At least some of her unused script can be accessed if you enter the College by crawling up through the Midden instead of officially joining via Faralda's test. At some point, she was perhaps supposed to be replaced out front by Faralda. . .You can ask her "Why are you out here?" and she explains that she's there not only to test applicants, but also because it amuses her how the local Nords find her frightening. 76.186.153.247 19:28, 11 December 2016 (UTC)

I've added an incomplete tag. If you have the dialogue lines, feel free to add them to the page. —Legoless (talk) 19:33, 11 December 2016 (UTC)

She just stands there[edit]

In my playthrough, Nirya seems to spend all her time —I mean 100%—standing at the same spot in the courtyard (late in the playthrough, after I am Arch Mage). --Grimbold (talk) 01:26, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

This is a bug with her schedule and is already mentioned on the page. If you're playing on PC, you can try to fix it with the console command setstage mgmainquestbridge 200. --Oriwa Talk 22:17, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
