Just did this dungeon[edit]

Just did this dungeon. It's a bit unusual in that the main excitement in the dungeon comes after the word wall - assuming you avoid the trap in the floor before the chest. After getting the word, I explored more and before coming upon Sild the Warlock. I was directed to this dungeon by the monks in High Hrothgar, so I'm hoping this isn't something that's part of a quest (the page for Sild indicates there's no known quest involving that NPC.) Subjugated Ghosts?[edit]

At the risk of adding nonsense I want to know: Has anybody ever figured out how to unsubjugate these poor ghosts? I don't want to kill them any more than I'd want to kill Paarthurnax. 70.114.63.215 18:43, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

I doubt it. I've just scoured the entire dungeon and found nothing even remotely suggesting it. Skyrim (and I dare say the entire Elder Scrolls series of games) isn't exactly known for its options for humane or moral choices. There aren't any offered during actual quest stories like No One Escapes Cidhna Mine (I was especially pissed off about that one), so you can hardly expect any offered for the "sensitive player" here. In fact, roleplaying overall is very limited and has never been these games' strong suit. It's the free roaming and sandbox world that's always been the selling point, so don't expect anything comparable to Bioware or Obsidian. I know it's not a comfortable feeling having to attack someone who keeps apologizing to you, but if it makes you feel any better, most of the spirits were bandits in life, AND reducing them to ashes--NOT killing btw--is probably the way to set them free. You can't kill ghosts after all. :) — Unsigned comment by 71.191.26.215 (talk) at 22:13 on 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Regarding Word Wall transliteration[edit]

I've hoped I could find the translations to all the Word Walls in the game, but it seems like that information isn't available on the wikis yet. When I saw mention of Kyne's name on this word wall, I was curious and decided to do a translation myself. After spending several hours painstakingly doing the transliteration and then translating it, the result was rather disappointing, but I'm adding it here nonetheless. I used the dragon language info provided on the Elder Scrolls wiki on Wikia.com[1] for reference. Here's the screenshot[2] I used to do the transliteration in case anyone wants to verify, though based on the fact not a single word is misspelled when I checked for translations, I doubt I made any mistakes doing the transliteration. It's not a very good screenshot, which is the reason I didn't add it to the wiki, but my screenshot program didn't work in game and I had to go through a lot of pains just to take this one. I don't have the time or desire to do every single Word Wall in game, but just thought I'd mention here, if there are more idiots like me and every one of them did one wall, we'll eventually have all of them. :) — Unsigned comment by 71.191.26.215 (talk) at 05:00 on 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Image with approximate location[edit]

That image, unless you click to view it, simply doesn't show the approximate location. The red circle just doesn't stand out. Should this be removed or enhanced? Rob-nick 07:58, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

It was removed over 4 months ago, your simply viewing an old version of the page. Just refresh the page and it should be gone. --kiz talkemail 17:33, 1 May 2012 (UTC)

Correct stage for No Stone Unturned[edit]

I think that No Stone Unturned: Restore the Crown of Barenziah should be No Stone Unturned: Recover the Stones of Barenziah. Biggus1 17:27, 1 May 2012 (UTC)

Possible bug (moved from bug list)[edit]

Moved from bug list, MortenOSlash (talk) 20:29, 6 October 2012 (GMT):

On the computer, I encountered both this and another bug (inability to pick up the unusual gem no matter what) over several reloaded saves. Finally got frustrated and restarted the game to try and avoid using console - on restart, I was able to get both the stone and the shout as normal. — Unsigned comment by 74.15.30.154 (talk) at 18:06 on 6 October 2012 (UTC)

It's imposible to get trapped in there[edit]

It's very easy to get the Key to unlock the Door from Sild's dead Assistant (Sild even tells you to ignore him – clearly a hint to check it's inventory ;-) ), so the warning about getting permanently trapped could be removed.--84.172.179.100 19:32, 3 May 2013 (GMT)

Word Wall Bug[edit]

On Console the shout is not showing up. The chant triggers as well as the vision blurring, but no word is highlighted and no 'blue' comes from the wall. This would have been 'Ov' (the third word). Has anyone else had this issue or know of a way to fix it? — Unsigned comment by 108.236.40.135 (talk) at 07:15 on 26 November 2016‎

It's the first bug listed in the Bugs section of the page. Robin Hood  (talk) 09:02, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

Meaning of Name[edit]

I'm a little confused of the name of this location. I can understand that Rannveig may be a name for a person. But what does "Fast" means? I'm from non-English country, so I'm not familiar with the cultural meaning behind "Fast". If anyone knows how to understand this word and explains it, I'll be grateful.
