Quest Removed[edit]

The quest was removed from my quest log before completing it, so I will (by the looks of it) never be able to complete it. — Unsigned comment by 166.82.146.131 (talk) at 01:38 on 5 December 2011

Drum still in inventory[edit]

The drum gets stuck in your inventory even after turning it in and completing the quest. It weighs 4 Lbs so — Unsigned comment by 174.254.96.193 (talk) at 15:19 on 5 December 2011

The drum says it weighs 4 lbs but is still a quest item. While it remains in your inventory after the quest it doesn't carry any weight. This was tested by dropping everything the game allowed and I did reach zero weight. (PS3) — Unsigned comment by 14.200.251.183 (talk) at 10:01 on 31 January 2012

Drum Removed from Inventory[edit]

On second playthrough (Xbox), I waited until receiving the Bards College quests (drum, flute, and lute) before attempting to get them. The drum and flute were in unexplored dungeons and the lute I ran into on another quest but didn't touch it. I did this quest last and somehow it was removed from my inventory this time, so it is possible to get rid of at least some of these items. I'm not sure what the parameters are though. Rename Request[edit]

The quest name was improper from how it is listed in game as "Find Rjorn's Drum" which made it a hassle to find the quest listed on this site. — Unsigned comment by 68.116.80.192 (talk) on 19 February 2012

No, this is the correct quest name. Since it is a miscellaneous quest, all that is shown in your quest log is the Quest Objective not the quest name. UESP's convention for all quests is to use their actual quest name, as provided by the game data. A redirect has been set up using the objective name so that even if you search using the objective, you still find the correct quest page. There is no reason to move the content around and blank pages. --NepheleTalk 21:09, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
Would you please stop just deleting content and instead try discussing why you think it needs to be deleted -- and in particular try reading some of the content that you keep deleting? And note that Find Rjorn's Drum now correctly redirects to this quest page, so any hassle caused by the previous incorrect redirect has been fixed. This small edit is the only change that needed to be done. --NepheleTalk 21:26, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
It was all moving so fast I have just given up making any changes.— Unsigned comment by 68.116.80.192 (talk) at 15:39 on 19 February 2012

Quest fails to advance past stage 20 when you get the drum before starting the quest[edit]

I have finally managed to get the quest to start properly by "ResetQuest" command after i remove the drum from my inventory and i talk to Giraud again he explains the whole thing again and the quest successfully begins as it should have. — Unsigned comment by 68.116.80.192 (talk) at 16:21 on 19 February 2012

Drum does not return to its original location and the quest becomes impossible to complete. — Unsigned comment by 68.116.80.192 (talk) at 16:41 on 19 February 2012
To complete this quest properly when you already have the drum and possibly for any quest item that you get before you should have causing the quest to become stuck is to use the console command "player.drop <object ID> 1" to drop the quest item like the drum but make sure its the only drum you have or you will have to use the drop command again to drop the quest item. When you pick the quest item up again it will cause the quest to advance successfully. — Unsigned comment by 68.116.80.192 (talk) at 16:57 on 19 February 2012

Drum stuck in inventory problem may be fixed with patch 1.4 on Xbox 360[edit]

I have Skyrim on Xbox 360 with the 1.4 patch, and I found the drum before activating the quest first. I gave the drum to Giraud and it was removed from my inventory, and I have no "Rjorn's Drum" quest in my journal. I have also received but not completed Tending the Flames yet, if that has anything to do with it. This is also a new game started with 1.4. Can anyone else confirm? --24.92.180.9 23:48, 19 February 2012 (UTC)

Yes, you are correct that the 1.4 patch fixed this problem. The patch only applies to saves made after the patch was updated, so if a player had the drum in their inventory before the patch, this problem will still affect them. Alphabetface 23:53, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
I got the drum after the 1.4 patch (for PC) so for some people the above may not be true and the glitch may still occur. Sonic0170 03:17, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
Hmm, I suppose you're right. According to the Patch page, only the Pantea's Flute quest was fixed. I thought it was all three of those miscellaneous quests. Oops! Alphabetface 05:14, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
I think all three were fixed, because Finn's Lute was also fixed. Well, partially fixed. The quest doesn't completely break, but they didn't bother to clean up the objectives, I had to fix that myself. And it might not help if you've already picked it up pre-patch. -Vardis 05:43, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I don't usually pay attention to what changes the patches make because I'm still playing an unpatched version of the game. Anything I know about patches, I get from UESP. I thought all three were fixed as well, but I don't remember where I got that from, since checking the Patch page showed only the one. Anyway, you're right that it won't help if you picked it up pre-patch. That I know for sure. The way the patches work is, "The patch does not fix past saves, only new saves. Every older save is associated with the older patch, and every new save is associated with the latest patch." This is quoted from a Bethesda Support e-mail. So even after updating to a new patch, all previous gameplay (even if it's 200hours) is unaffected by the patch. Alphabetface 05:57, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Giraud is dead and I can't drop the drum[edit]

After retrieving Rjorn's Drum, I returned to Solitude and a dragon attacked. During the attack, the dragon killed Giraud. Now I can't get rid of the drum.63.239.65.11 17:35, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

incorrect info in notes section(well, misleading)[edit]

(Playing with partch 1.4)

I picked up the drum before receiving the quest. After turning it in I got the rewards. The quest doesn't show up in my completed quest log as the note stated. However it does not show up as an incomplete quest either, which is what I was assuming was going to happen after reading the notes section. So its not incorrect per se, but should probably be rewritten a little more clearly and precisely. — Unsigned comment by 12.25.54.192 (talk) at 14:46 on 21 April 2012
