Type?[edit]

Is this shield a heavy shield or a light shield — Unsigned comment by 71.161.231.170 (talk) at 13:33 on 27 August 2012

It's Heavy Armor, and now noted on the article. ABCface 14:19, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

Item Enchantment vs. Active Effects[edit]

I used the Generic Resist Magic Enchantment and the Shield of Solitude Resist Magic Enchantment combined with the best Fortify Enchantment Potion you can make (without cheating) for an end result of Resist Magic 23% + Resist Magic 29% on my necklace. But when I go to my active effects, there are two entries for Resist Magic from the necklace, but both say 23%. I know the active effects list is a little buggy, but I'm wondering now, does the first Resist Magic enchantment get applied twice and the second ignored (when they're on the same item), or is the Active Effects list just displaying the resistances incorrectly? Thanks. Username12345 (talk) 05:24, 19 September 2012 (GMT)

I haven't tested this, but knowing how the Active Effects list acts sometimes with several copies of the same effect, I would guess that it's just displaying incorrectly. RearEchelon (talk) 19:45, 17 November 2013 (GMT)
This may be a red herring, but have you installed recent updates of the USKP? They fix the underlying problem in Shield of Solitude, making the resistance the same strength and type as all other Resist Magic effects, which I think might produce the effect you're describing if you first disenchanted the shield with an older patch. Not improvable?[edit]

Seems this shield is not improvable. It doesn't show on the workbench list. Playing on XBox360 ver 1.9, (obviously) no mods, smithing 100 + all perks. i don't know if this is a bug or intended, seems like a bug to me, since all of the other shields are improvable. Can someone confirm/annotate article? 24.255.217.175 23:24, 19 May 2015 (GMT)

Tempering: Not Possible. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 00:17, 20 May 2015 (GMT)
Okay, you got me. i just realised it was in the infobox thanks to your comment. i usually ignore those in favour of the more detailed information in the article. Any guesses on why this particular shield isn't able to be tempered? Seems a little weird to have left it out, no? 24.255.217.175 04:06, 20 May 2015 (GMT)
There a couple of random items that can't be tempered. No one can really say why they can't unless you worked on the game. Might be an oversight. Jeancey (talk) 05:36, 20 May 2015 (GMT)
