Inn Name[edit]

Hmmm... Wonder if we can guess or determine the origin of the name of the inn. Dictionary.com: (Barb) 1. point or pointed part projecting backward from a main point, as of a fishhook or arrowhead. (Bee=Reference to the nearby honey farm? Barb=Reference to Riften as a fishing city? / Just the barb on a bee's stinger? ) 2. an obviously or openly unpleasant or carping remark. (Reference to inns as places of gossip, arguments?) There is a Bee and Barb as a local business in what appears to be rural Sweden (http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Bee-and-Barb/284069104973051 ).--Jreynolds2Talk Contrib E-mail 02:11, 19 January 2012 (UTC)

Seeing as the sign outside shows a bee perched on a fishing hook, and taking into account the honey farm and fishery, I'd say you're right on. 199.127.249.177 23:50, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
This might well qualify as an Easter Egg. If you haven't already, you should submit it there. Robin Hoodtalk 01:41, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
I missed 199.127.249.177's reply here. Yeah. I never really looked at the sign. You deserve to make the Easter Egg note on it, where Robin Hood said, if you want to. And consider getting an account if you want. You can obviously contribute if you want to. You don't need an account, but it's cool to have a name for you, and there's really no negative in creating one. No spam or anything like that. --JRTalk E-mail 06:15, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

I think I've worked out what the name of this inn really comes from. If you go to http://www.imperial-library.info/content/real-barenziah-complete and head to volume 4, you can see that there's a graphic sex scene between Barenziah and Therris in an unnamed inn in 'Rifton'. During this encounter it describes the latter's penis as having barbs on it. Bee = Barenziah. Barbs = you know. 86.172.135.191 19:33, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Dropping Food[edit]

Should we include the Easter egg involving the fight here? I would add it, but I don't know if it should go here or not, and I don't know the specifics (is it always the same NPCs, etc.) 199.127.249.177 23:47, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

I don't know what easter egg it would be, but it would go on Easter Eggs, not this page. --Velyanthe 23:50, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
I'm not sure what the intent was with the "not this page" phrase, but I am quite sure this is a perfectly appropriate place to ask the question that was asked. --JRTalk E-mail 06:30, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
JR: Velyanthe's answering the question, but suggesting that if there's an egg of some kind related to the fight, that it should be added to the Easter Eggs page instead of The Bee and Barb. Robin Hoodtalk 06:42, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
Robin Hood, thanks. I see that I wrote my own comment carelessly, and--I think--like Velyanthe's comment, it can be interpreted with various intonations, attitude, and shades of meaning. So, I'll try to look at my own behaviors for the kind of care and respect I've been quick to ask of others just recently. I am completely clear that his intentions are positive, and, yes: absolutely his comment was helpful in main. What I wish I had pointed out more clearly was that it is not too difficult to imagine that someone--and especially someone who had apparently just made their second post on the wiki--may have possibly interpreted the last clause to imply, "You shouldn't have written what you did on this page. It seems to me that the fundamental purpose of the question was to solicit others' input on whether it was good or appropriate to deem and describe something as an egg, and to implicitly invite others to supply additional details about it. I'm glad you took the time to call my attention to consider how well I'm practicing what I'm trying to preach, and I hope you'll do it again (and again). I think we all need help sometimes to see when we may be communicating in ways that may fail to match our intentions. V: I apologize for writing it that way. It was not meant as anything like an attack. Onward together, I hope. --JRTalk E-mail 13:06, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

() About dropping food in Bee and Bard

I came across the same small event, but it is not an Easter egg. Hereby I would explain how it triggers. When both of Indaryn and Vulwulf Snow-Shod are in the inn, drop something and just stay back. (I dropped a sword, someone dropped a stolen cabbage.) Indaryn and Vulwulf will have an argue about the occupation of this item, finally lead to a fight. As Indaryn is weaker than the other, he is killed. However, the winner won't pick up the item. So the player can just take it back. 145.100.194.152 22:28, 25 November 2012 (GMT)

Shown to Your Room: Moved From Article[edit]

Unlike most inns found in Skyrim, you will not get shown to your room when renting one here.

Can anyone verify this? I swear I've been shown to my room in the Bee and Barb. --AN|L (talk) 17:55, 6 April 2014 (GMT)

Not true. I've been shown to my room every time I've ever been there. Heck, Talen-Jei never let's me out of my sight (who could blame him though?) •WoahBro►talk 17:57, 6 April 2014 (GMT)
I agree that Talen-Jei always follows you closely, but that is different than Keerava renting you a room and then taking you to it. However just tried again and I was too quick off the blocks, she rents the room, then says doors over there why don't you use it. The same as normal after buy/selling to/from her and then a few seconds later walks off to the room. I must have heard the dismissal of being shown the door and left without waiting long enough for her to walk there without comment. Sorry. Biffa (talk) 11:05, 7 April 2014 (GMT)
