Gauldur Amulet Heads up and Hints[edit]

When you find all three fragments, you bring them to a Pedistol, after you place all three fragments on the three pedistols you will battle three ghost that killed Gauldur, one behind the other, then Gauldur's ghost will rise and forge the Amulet, thats if you defeat the ghosts.Oh, the best way to get the fragment in the locked ruins not far from the Arcane College of Winterhold is to join the college, they will take you inside to look for enchanted items. — Unsigned comment by Monty32105 (talkcontribs) at 23:02 on 18 February 2012

Those details were left out of this page because it's trying to focus on the necklace itself (not the quest). If anyone needs any more hints (in addition to the ones above), they can also check out the quest page (listed under "Related Quests" on this page) or just use this link: Forbidden Legend. --Amsuko 03:55, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Amulet of the Nine[edit]

The article says that the Gauldur Amulet and an Amulet of the Nine can be worn at the same time. I am playing on the 360 and someone has verified that it works. I am using my Amulet of Dibella but have also tried an Amulet of Mara neither seem to equip at the same time as the Gauldur Amulet. I assume those are the sort of amulets that the articles means? — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 22:23, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

I'd assume so too, yes. It doesn't work at all for me on PS3 though. Kitkat TalkContribE-mail 22:26, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
Seems to work with an Amulet of the Nine of PC as well, I am wearing both this and an amulet of Talos — Unsigned comment by 75.57.220.67 (talk) on 1 May 2012
360 here, I finished the College of Winterhold before starting the lost legends questline, and am able to equip both Savos Aren's Amulet and the Gauldur one. I have removed and reequipped both more than once, and cannot wear the Gauldur Amulet with any Amulet of the Divine or others. Can anyone verify?
There's nothing in the CK supporting this (unlike, for example Falmer Helmets plus circlets). Plus most players haven't been able to confirm it, and those that have can't even agree on what items can be worn simultaneously. I'm removing the note from the article because the current note seems more likely to be incorrect than correct -- the only amulet confirmed by anyone here is the Amulet of Talos, which is only one of nine Amulets of the Divines.
If anyone can wear any combination of two amulets together, could you please be sure to state exactly which two amulets they are (i.e., do not just state "Amulet of the Divine" -- state "Amulet of Talos"; be clear about whether it is the completed Gauldur Amulet or one of the Gauldur Amulet Fragments, in which case state which one), the order in which you put on the amulets, and whether there was anything unusual about either amulet. In particular, I'm wondering whether one or both of the amulets being a quest item is a factor. Were the enchantments for both amulets listed in your active effects?
There really needs to be some type of solid information about what exactly is possible and what triggers it before it's useful enough to readers to belong on the article. --NepheleTalk 16:53, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

() I Have not tried with an amulet of the divines, but I am able to use any of my custom enchanted necklaces in addition to the Gauldur Amulet — Unsigned comment by 70.24.17.69 (talk) at 04:06 on 29 June 2012

I've gotten it to work with an Amulet of Talos and a Gold Diamond Amulet that I forged and enchanted myself, but this sometimes required 'equip juggling' back and forth for the stacking to happen. SonGoharotto (talk) 16:45, 3 October 2012 (GMT)

Stacking bug fixed?[edit]

I used to utilize the stacking bug with my first character, but ultimately set aside the Gauldur Amulet in favor of a custom enchanted necklace. Then Patch 1.6 was released and I installed Dawnguard. I recently created a new character and made a point of going for the Gauldur Amulet early, but now I can't get it to stack with anything. Since you can't downgrade the Title Update on Xbox, and deleting it makes newer game saves unloadable, I have no way of testing to see if this was bug was deliberately fixed by Patch 1.6. Can any PC players confirm? SonGoharotto (talk) 19:09, 3 October 2012 (GMT)

On a possibly related note, I'm getting the bug where the Gauldur Amulet clips into my character's chest, but I didn't have that problem with my first character. Is there a way to fix this, short of paying the Face Sculptor to 'put my character on a diet', so to speak? SonGoharotto (talk) 19:11, 3 October 2012 (GMT)

stacking cause[edit]

it seems to be the case that vampirism is causal. become a vampire, equip the fragment, equip necklace 1, equip necklace 2, equip fragment, equip necklace 2. last 2 steps are often unnecessary. after vampirism was lost, amulets equipped normally. regaining vampirism caused the advantage to become available. — Unsigned comment by 24.6.205.147 (talk) at 13:03 on 22 July 2013

Not an Artifact[edit]

This item shares its appearance with not one, but two other items. As this item shares its appearance with the Saarthal Amulet and Kyne's Token, this item should be changed to just being a unique item. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 19:32, 15 December 2013 (GMT)

Sounds fair to me. — ABCface 21:13, 15 December 2013 (GMT)
Yup. Now that there will be pages for unique items, its not such a big deal to downgrade an item like this. --AN|L (talk) 22:12, 15 December 2013 (GMT)
