Losing weapons[edit]

Has anybody else noticed that Torvar tends to lose melee weapons, if you give him magic ones? Thundre 01:01, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

We would need more details before being able to determine if this a bug or not. Are they inexplicably vanishing from the game? Is he dropping them or just unequipping these in favor of another? Is he "losing" them during a fight with an enemy that can use the Disarm shout? Is this on PC or a console? There too many variables that need to be defined before this question can be answered. --Xyzzy Talk 14:48, 21 October 2013 (GMT)

Torvar appearing in orc stronghold Dushnikh Yal[edit]

When i first time visited Dushnikh Yal he was walking around dor few moments and he started to travel towards Whiterun. — Unsigned comment by 62.141.192.101 (talk) at 17:05 on 18 August 2013‎

Edit: Sorry that was just group of companions. They sometimes appear in threes in some places. I met Farkas and Aela few moments later. — Unsigned comment by 62.141.192.101 (talk) at 17:09 on 18 August 2013‎

Recruit as follower early secret.[edit]

You can recruit Torvar as a follower before you complete the Companions Quest by dropping a piece of armor in front of him. He will ask you if he can have it and if you answer yes, you can ask him to follow you. As far as I know he is the only Companion that will do this. I'm not sure but I think you have to have at least started the Companions Quest as it only worked for me after I completed Take Up Arms and one radiant quest (IE just before you start Proving Honor). I also think that it has to be a chest piece that you have to drop in front of him. I have tested this on both PC and PS3 and it works. — Unsigned comment by 99.242.135.115 (talk) at 20:53 on 20 October 2013

This is actually a random interaction which can occur with many NPCs. Most follower NPCs have a standard method for recruitment, which is what is documented on the article (for the Companions, it's generally completing the questline). However, there are ways to raise the relationship rank between your character and the NPC, such as these random events, which can also result in them liking you enough to become a follower (if they are in the "PotentialFollowerFaction"). It's not really a secret, just one of the ways the game functions. — ABCface 03:42, 21 October 2013 (GMT)
Disposition is raised enough for him to become a candidate for marriage this way too. Game for marriage even before Proving Honor started. — HALA (talk) 10:32, 20 April 2015 (GMT)

Randomly attacked Uthgerd when I entered Jorrvaskr[edit]

The first time I entered Jorrvaskr, I had Uthgerd the Unbroken as a follower. As soon as I stepped in she and many of the Companions said beginning-of-combat lines, and Torvar actively attacked her and continued to fight her until she killed him. Has this happened to anyone else? 69.132.11.9 07:39, 23 December 2013 (GMT)

Me. I just finished Proving Honor (The bugged one with Farkas as weak as a child) and as soon as i arrive to Whiterun there's his brother waiting for us atop the stairs to Jorvarrsk, and not only Torvar but Athis as well start attacking me and Farkas. I guess i can correct it thru console but it's an amusing bug since all the Circle is just waiting for me to arrive and they just stand there while these three beats the c**p of each other M05c0 (talk) 18:42, 12 August 2014 (GMT)
