Murder in the Stables[edit]

I was playing my secondary character, a thief, and I had just run a numbers job on the stables the night before. I returned to Whiterun the next day and the guards were rushing to the stables as Skulvar had been murdered. Hi son was present. The guards stopped me and asked if I knew anything about it, which I didn't and then warned me that they had their eye on me and to report anything I did know to the Captain of the Guard. I was not in Guild armour. Is this some sort of radiant quest I have never encountered before? (Magskall (talk) 20:30, 3 September 2012 (EDT))

I'm fairly certain that if you're near a dead body the guards will be a bit suspicious. I'm not sure how he died, but it could have been from a dragon or vampire (if you have Dawnguard installed). Vely►t►e 20:43, 3 September 2012 (EDT)
I figured it out with my tertiary character. A vampire master attacked Whiterun. After it was killed by the mob, I continued to the stables and saw two death hounds attacking and then killing Skulvar. I thin the are supposed to attack inside the walls with the MV but don't due to a possible bug.(Magskall (talk) 04:29, 19 September 2012 (GMT))

Crops directly west of stables[edit]

with all the cabbage rows and two rows of potator, are they the stables? it has a stable with barrels in it, but the main page doesn't mention this area. Grelaria (talk) 06:20, 19 December 2013 (GMT)

Owners Dead - Restore With Console[edit]

So thanks to 'Death Hounds killing everyone' - otherwise known as 'Dawnguard' - both Jervar and Skulvar were killed in a night attack. I want a black horse, and I don't want to steal it. Bottom line, I want them back.

So I use the console and all the various commands to bring them both back - adding them to the right factions etc. Except neither have the option to sell me the horse. I guess Jervar inherited it in the 3 seconds he was alive after Skulvar was killed - but now neither have it. As far as I can tell the stable doesn't have a merchant chest I can use to 'setownership' with, so I'm rather lost as to how to restore the stable to proper working order. Sorry I can't help you, apart from suggest you use Shadowmere, unless someone else can help. Biffa (talk) 08:20, 25 November 2014 (GMT)
