Ysolda does sleep in Honeyside[edit]

I found out that she actually does sleep, but very rarely. I have only seen her once sleeping. — Unsigned comment by 143.238.118.50 (talk) at 10:57 on 17 January 2012

Ysolda can inherit Whiterun inn[edit]

I found out today that you can make Ysolda inherit the inn in whiterun by killing Hulda. Stabbed her in the back at night with Ysolda in the inn, and Ysolda ran around the counter and immediately took her place renting rooms etc. --98.229.50.19 17:55, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

Anyone knows who's Ysolda's voice actress ? She seems to have a distinct voice from other Nord women. --88.162.105.16 05:31, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
Nevermind, she has generic Nord voice like the other female Nord NPCs.--80.15.18.26 15:11, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
Not a generic voice. Check the voice actors page. --72.88.199.175 19:16, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
Does this mean she inherits everything in the inn as well? Out of curiousity as it would be a nicer place for her to own than her house if she does?Darkcaptain3 03:47, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
Not only she inherits it, but if you marry her the place becomes safe for storage, which pretty much means the Inn becomes your property; however items that respawn in the Inn, like food remain outside of her property, are marked as STEAL rather than TAKE, and will earn you a bounty. Also, the items you store in the containers will change to red as if you where stealing them, but are not marked as stolen once they are in your inventory. The tests done so far are: -Placing items in containers and dropping them inside the Inn stay in their place after 10 days. -Ysolda will still give money from her "store". -Ysolda will offer to rent a room but will not take any money or show you to your room. -The opion of asking for a home cooked meal disappears if you ask her to move some place else and then move back to the Inn (i.e. "your place is just fine") — Unsigned comment by 201.156.229.119 (talk) at 07:17 on 29 January 2014 (UTC)

Ysolda, greenish/darkish face[edit]

I just wanted to get people's experience. Is Ysolda's face (or whole body for that matter) a little greenish or darkish in color compared to your average nord woman?

I never noticed it before, then i saw a screenshot at another skyrim-centric website. And then after i married her (i have a nude mod) i noticed her face isn't quite the same color as her body. It could just be the mod, but then i remembered the screenshot i saw. is it the same for everyone? 112.198.171.38 15:21, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

This happens with quite a few NPCs. Skyrim tackles this a lot better than previous Bethesda games but they haven't ironed it out completely. I fixed it by setting Ysolda's complexion type to SkinHeadFemaleNordComplexion_Frekles in the Creation Kit. You can do this with the NPC Editor too. 92.10.131.206 00:02, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
I have had this happen.
I think face editing most likely caused this issue.
To resolve it I had to go into creation kit, find Ysolda in actors category, edited her face very slightly (I do not know if this is necessary for the fix to work) clicked on Ysolda in actors category to make sure it was highlighted then pressed Ctrl F4 to save facegen data & save Ysolda as an esp.
Enabled ysolda esp in Skyrim data and her face is now the same tint as the rest of her body. — Unsigned comment by Ellwood (talkcontribs) at 09:14 on September 6, 2012

Console command[edit]

I just removed the note about console commands that can be used to set Ysolda to be a follower. The console allows many things, and setting NPCs to function as followers is just one of them. This is not specific to Ysolda, and so doesn't belong on this page. Thought I'd clarify as I messed up with the edit and comment. That's all. --188.203.162.222 23:09, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

Marriage Bug[edit]

There seems to be a problem when marrying ysolda. you cant get the lover's comfort buff, which is the main reason for most people to marry in the first place. you dont even get the buff when sleeping in the same bed with her, you only get "well rested". — Unsigned comment by 178.200.58.100 (talk) at 12:16 on 18 December 2011 (UTC)

you can. you just need to ask her to move back to her house, sleep there at least once, and then you'll get it. you can then have her move to any other residence you or she owns and you'll continue to get it. — Unsigned comment by 208.198.0.57 (talk) at 00:18 on 19 December 2011
i have tried this and it did not work. there may be more of a problem with ysolda lover's comfort bonus. — Unsigned comment by 69.180.27.90 (talk) at 07:24 on 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Make Ysolda a merchant before marriage?[edit]

Is there a way to use console commands so that Ysolda can become a merchant before you marry her or when you are married and living in her house? — Unsigned comment by 24.6.91.155 (talk) at 23:19 on 24 December 2011 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you mean. She automatically becomes a merchant once you marry her (most spouses do, i think). And like what was said above, you could kill Hulda, and Ysolda could inherit the Bannered Mare. But I'm not sure what happens if you do that before/after marrying her.ForsakenOne 15:38, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

Sanguine quest[edit]

"If you marry her before the Sanguine quest she will still run the same dialogue as if you found her in the shops."

Does this mean if you marry her before the quest her dialogue before the quest is the same as if you found her in the shops, or if you marry her before it her dialogue afterwards is the same? — Unsigned comment by 87.102.64.193 (talk) at 18:26 on 21 January 2012 (UTC)

Marrying her has no effect on her quest dialogue whatsoever, you will also have to talk to her in whatever house she now lives in too.RIM 18:29, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

Ysolda DOES sleep in Honeyside[edit]

Not sure where this came from, but Ysolda does sleep in Honeyside. I took this note out. I'm married to her and live in Honeyside, and she sleeps there less often than other houses, but she does sleep there. 71.91.113.76 02:18, 24 January 2012 (UTC)Joshua

FYI, I am married to Ysolda and we live in Proudspire Manor in Solitude. I have over 200 hours of game time in, and I've NEVER seen her sleep there. Just an observation, that's all. Marlos 21:06, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Ysolda lives in Proudspire manor with me as well, and even though she doesn't sleep in my bed, she sleeps in the bedroll in my basement. Very strange. :/ 72.68.154.112 22:49, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

Could not marry Ysolda[edit]

I never had an option to marry Ysolda, I don't know why. Other marriable NPCs were OK, but Ysolda didn't seem to give me a chance. I even approached her with a mammoth tusk (I know that she wants one to trust you) but alas, no dialog option appeared neither for the mammoth tusk quest nor for marriage. — Unsigned comment by Schlingel (talkcontribs) at 23:21 on 28 January 2012

Possibly another Rare Gifts radiant quest was active and therefore blocking Ysolda's quest. GrogGrogGrog 07:05, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
This has something to do with the civil war quest line as she does not offer the misc quet for getting a mammoth tusk if you finish the civil war quest line for the storm cloaks.KingKTalk 20:50, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
On my character (Xbox) I was able to do Ysolda's favor quest after completing the Civil War quest line in favor of the Stormcloaks. It turns out that I had Amren's favor quest still active. Maybe you just have one of those quests active.Dragon-Blood</fontTalk 19:12, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

mammoth tusks[edit]

Shouldn't this article mention the mammoth tusk(s) in the unlocked chest outside her house? I took 2 tusks from there before I met her. It so happened that I left the Arcane Enchanter out the back door the first time I was there, and explored that side of the city.
--DayDreamer 15:18, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

If anywhere, that would go in the Mammoth Tusks entry, but only if it's guaranteed that they'll be there for everyone. Robin Hoodtalk 08:11, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
Seems to be level dependent. At 10, there were mammoth tusks. Tried again at 6 today, there were horker tusks.

Essential status[edit]

Quest notes for patch 1.5 say that Ysolda now cannot be killed before starting A Night to Remember. Does this mean she is now essential always, or merely until she has played her part in that quest? (One of you crazed murderers must know the answer.) GrogGrogGrog 07:18, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

That probably means that she will be essential provided one does not start A Night to Remember. And even though she is also set as essential during the quest, she most likely will lose her essential status upon completion of that quest. Hope that was helpful. 72.68.154.112 22:47, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
I have completed all quests involving her and she still won't die.... — Unsigned comment by 99.194.189.255 (talk) on 9 April 2012

moved from Skyrim_talk:Skyrim

I've noticed either a possible bug in game, or a misleading "Note" on Ysolda's page. On her page it says that she "is essential until her part in A Night To Remember is completed," implying that once you have completed the quest, she will change to "unessential" status. On my game however, I completed that quest yet she is still unable to die. This isn't really a problem, but I'm just wanting to clarify if this is a glitch or just a misleading statement. ---Gamer3427 04:40, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

I completed A Night to Remember and Ysolda has not lost her essential status. — Unsigned comment by 76.185.23.155 (talk) at 02:08 on 22 August 2012
I've checked the Creation Kit: Her base is considered to be essential, so she will never become killable. LoftedAphid86 12:59, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
In A Night To Remember, it is no longer possible to kill Ysolda, Ennis or Senna before starting the quest. That is what the patch notes say, and going by that she will be killable once the quest has started. Something else is making her unkillable. SilencerSpeak 18:09, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
That may be what the Patch Notes say, but the Creation Kit lists her as always essential, and the Creation Kit doesn't lie. This is looking purely at the 'Update' Master file. We're supposed to take the Creation kit as the most reliable method of finding out something about the game. You can check yourself, if you don't believe me. The Patch Notes don't have to be word for word what the patch does. LoftedAphid86 21:17, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
After some testing I can't find a point at where they (Ysolda, Senna, and Ennis) become unessential. I'll tweak the wording of the note to reflect this. Golden SilenceBreak the Silence 12:56, 11 September 2012 (EDT)

Ysolda disappears from game after A Night to Remember[edit]

So I decided to do the quest, 'A Night to Remember' and Ysolda talks about her ring and I finish the quest. Afterwards, I go looking for her so that I can marry her, and she has just vanished! I decided to use the player.moveto console code, and it just took me to her house, but her house was empty. If it helps, I finished Battle for Whiterun between A Night to Remember and her disappearance. Thanks for any help. — Unsigned comment by 86.147.125.53 (talk) at 17:44 on 13 May 2012

Maramal won't marry us[edit]

So I did everything needed to marry Ysolda and twice now Maramal just stares at me during the wedding. No idea why either. Haven't found a way to fix it. Level 27, wearing the Amulet of Mara, she IS at the wedding, I have tried to marry her twice now. Doesn't work. Are you on the PC, and if so, do you have any mods installed that might be altering her dialogue? The 1.6 patch introduced a wide-ranging bug that causes modified dialogues not to play. Robin Hoodtalk 22:21, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

This is an unfortunate bug that sometimes occurs with quite a few (possibly all) spouses. The only fix is to reload a save from before the marriage ceremony and make sure you tell Ysolda where to live before she can leave the temple. I would suggest console commands, but I'm aware you play on the Xbox. --SlyKhajiit 22:11, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

Stealing Shrouded equipment from her?[edit]

I heard that if you steal from her from 9:00-10:00 PM when she's sleeping, you can pickpocket Shrouded armor off of her. If true, how do I get her to go to bed? She just sits in The Bannered Mare and doesn't do anything. XD 24.171.232.19 04:56, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

New? Ysolda Marriage Bug?[edit]

so, i married Ysolda, went through the trouble of her disappearing, got her in proudspire, then she vanished again. i used player.placeatme 00013BAB to find her (she wasnt anywhere i could find this time) and all her dialouge was the vanilla trading stuff. no marriage dialouge, and she just upped and left after i finished talking. any idea whats up? im trying to find a "un-marry" console code, but no luck :( — Unsigned comment by 182.239.178.211 (talk) at 13:58 on 24 September 2012

Using placeatme and the BaseID will create a new version of Ysolda. To move the old version to you, use prid 0001A69A followed by moveto player. Alternatively you can use player.moveto 0001A69A to get transported to wherever she is --Alfwyn (talk) 20:08, 24 September 2012 (GMT)

Ysolda & Belethor's General Goods[edit]

Belethor died during a vampire attack the other day. I went into his shop for the first time since then and Ysolda was running the counter, with her usual dialogue concerning the caravans plus the shopkeeper's buy option. I thought the assistant guy was supposed to take over? He's still around, still sweeping and chopping wood and whatnot. Anyone else have this happen to them? I don't think it's a bug, just an oddity. 24.237.192.137 05:37, 6 December 2012 (GMT)

No, this is normal. I even revived Belethor using console commands, but she won't leave the shop. I even completed A Night to Remember a long time before that, but Ysolda remained essential so I couldn't kill her. 71.185.239.164 01:57, 25 May 2014 (GMT)

Another Marriage Glitch[edit]

I usually marry Ysolda, but this time after I say I do at the ceremony, maramal says he is giving us the rings, but I don't get one, then if I return to Ysolda, she talks as if we were un-married. Why? — Unsigned comment by 129.97.232.35 (talk) at 23:24 on 17 January 2013 (UTC)

Where to get Mammoth tusk?[edit]

I want to complete the side-quest where you bring a mammoth tusk to Ysolda, but I have no idea where to get get one other than killing a mammoth (which I am too weak to do). Please can somebody help me?

There are many ways to get one without killing a mammoth. You can steal one from the The Bannered Mare. This is the quickest way to fulfill this quest and she will be willing to accept. If you don't want to steal anything, go to Halted Stream Camp. You can find 8 tusks there and all you need is killing some bandits. Hope you like it. Dreamshadow (talk) 23:07, 11 April 2013 (GMT)

Ysolda won't move in with me[edit]

So I married Ysolda, then I went back to Lakeview to make sure I have all the stuff I need to have her move in, it's all there, but when I go back to Whiterun, the "I think we should live somewhere else or whatever" dialogue option isn't there. The store and the food are there, and I tried leaving and coming back, but that didn't do anything. — Unsigned comment by Tredonius Lexico (talkcontribs) at 13:56 on 6 August 2013

I killed Ysolda[edit]

I killed ysolda before version 1.5 and I can't do the sanguine rose quest because of that. Does the patch make her come back since she is essential? Also, is there any way to see what patch your are on on the PS3?§ — Unsigned comment by 90.211.139.134 (talk) at 12:08 on 26 August 2013

Quest Missing at High Levels[edit]

I've found on 2 play-throughs that saving Ysolda's mammoth quest makes it disappear when your speech level gets above 50 or so. In the first, the option to start it went away, in the second I started it but while doing her part of A Night to Remember the dialog to give it to her was missing - Player level = 50, Speech = 65 in the second, the first was about the same when I noticed it missing. I made sure nothing was "boosting" speech. The first was a plain vanilla version of Skyrim no DLC's or Mods, the second was the Legendary version all DLC's loaded but no mod's, both PS3. Also, (and sorry for the edits to this) The quest in the second play-through is still showing as active in the Misc Section of the Quest page. Philbert (talk) 16:20, 7 February 2015 (GMT)

The quest to bring Ysolda the mammoth tusk is an instance of the radiant quest Rare Gifts. If you have any other instance of this quest currently active, you won't get the dialogue. -- SarthesArai Talk 19:20, 7 February 2015 (GMT)
I checked that first - nope. But in my current play-through I did get her quest early thinking I could turn it in later which locked out the other radiant Rare Gift quests. Her quest does show in my active quests but her dialog is missing when I talk to her. Speech (current) = 70, Level = 53 for reference. I'm going to complete "A Night to Remember" soon and see if that causes the conflict. Will post the results when its done. Thanks! Philbert (talk) 22:09, 8 February 2015 (GMT)
Completed "A Night to Remember" then made her quest active. No quest pointer showed up but I went to her anyway. No dialog to offer displayed when I initiated the conversation. Verified no other radiant quest (Rare Gifts) was in the active quest list. My next step is to see if I can initiate any of the other Rare Gift quests or if this has broken all of them. Philbert (talk) 16:02, 10 February 2015 (GMT)
Got it! (I'm an idiot). I was looking to see the dialog without having the mammoth tusk in my inventory. Once I did the quest pointer was over her head as normal and the dialog option appeared. I previously expected the dialog and pointer to show even though I had no mammoth tusk just not able to activate it or if activated give a generic response of some type. Philbert (talk) 16:57, 10 February 2015 (GMT)

Ysolda is in a no-place from 6pm to 9am, after married and moved to Lakeview[edit]

Hello. As per title. I married her and I asked her to move to Lakeview, that is only a cottage in this early phase. But from ~6pm to ~9am she simply disappears from the game. I mean, not wandering somewhere else, but really disappears: to find her, I used console with string player.moveto 0001a69a, and this teleported me to a no-place, that is just outside Lakeview but in the empty area, that using CreationKit it seems to be "BYOHHouse1Falkreath". So after teleported there, since there is no land, I'm continuously falling in the nothing, and Ysolda is not there. So I tried to use prid 0001a69a and moveto player in Lakeview, and she will appear as normal. But if I go outside and suddenly re-enter the house, she disappears again. She can sleep in the double bed, but is not giving the lover's comfort.

I've tried also to ask her to move to her own house in Whiterun and after one day asking to move back to Lakeview: when in Whiterun, her behaviour is normal; after moving back to Lakeview, she uses again to disappear from ~6pm to ~9am.

What else can I do? I'm wondering if there is a bug in the "Lakeview Cottage" that triggers this behaviour, even if it is fully-furnished (bed, cooking pot, chests, all built). I will try to build and upgrade the full manor. This is the first time that I marry before building all the wings of the manor; before I never had this bug (but this is also the first time that I marry Ysolda).

Thank you for any help. --151.56.140.46 13:19, 11 April 2015 (GMT)
