The Stirk Jailor sat at his desk

The Stirk Jailor, an Imperial guard, is the prison keeper at the Passage, in Fort Stirk. You'll pay Helga's fine to him during the related quest.

His duties as Stirk's only prison guard mean his daily routine is quite out of sync with most of the island's residents. After sleeping from 4pm to 11pm in the Fort barracks, he eats a two hour meal there before heading to the dungeon at 1am. Once he arrives, he sits down at his desk and will perform a whopping 15-hour shift. The only change to his boring routine is during the related quest: once you pay the fine, he will unlock Helga's cell and escort her outside the Fort. He will then return immediately to his post.

He wears the standard Stirk guard uniform: chainmail boots, greaves and gauntlets, a guard helmet and a Stirk cuirass and shield. He carries a silver longsword for protection and the key to the dungeon.

His life in close proximity of lawbreakers and criminals has hardened him and he is a man of few words, as you will notice when you first meet him: "I run the prison. Not that it really matters." When you ask to visit a prisoner he'll be visibly annoyed: "I suppose I have to. Keep you hands to yourself in there. I'll be right next to you the whole time." If, during the related quest, you decide to pay Helga's fine he'll be surprised and say: "You want to pay her fine? All right, though I don't really see why. It's not much better on this side of the bars either. 50 gold, please."
