Welcome[edit]

Hello Anathema! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:

If you, on the other hand, would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at this link:

  • Userboxes: near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to make your own

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! –Eshetalk 13:49, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Hey[edit]

I noticed your addition to Eshe's page, and since she's probably not going to be back on soon (though she might, to check her talk page) I'd just like to say I'd be happy to help you with whatever questions you've got. You mentioned you have issues formatting posts--what are you having issues with? Vely►Talk►Email 01:05, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

Just a Reminder...[edit]

Can you please make sure to use the Show Preview when editing? It makes patrolling much easier! Thank ya! :) Kitkat TalkContribE-mail 09:12, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi Kitkat :} I do use preview, before I save, all the time - and usually make more changes afterwards too, so often use it multiple times when editing one page. Is there another way I should do the preview? Why the post? If this is due to the edits to Stony Creek - I simply don't agree. Thanks, --Anathema 09:34, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

I was actually trying to avoid specific examples, but four edits to one page in one morning is more than enough. Nothwithstanding the other three edits to another page. Keep in mind that every edit has to be manually patrolled. Kitkat TalkContribE-mail 09:50, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
No one is trying to offend you, Anathema, we are trying to help out by give you some tips. If you try to follow standard advice from other editors, reminders wouldn't be necessary. For example, you updated the same page 20+ times in less than one hour, which led me here to your talk page to give you advice to use the 'Show Preview' button... only, you've already been given this advice. We're not trying to criticize you in any way, we're just trying to improve the wiki by helping newer users get used to the standard guidelines around here. The links in the welcome message at the top of this page should help you out if you haven't read them yet, and asking the site's mentors is a great way to go. ABCface 14:19, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

hmmm... that's weird. I didn't edit anything 20x's but when I "save" sometimes the page never loads.

I know you are just helping with tips, no worries.

Also, other times when I "save", it will say something along the lines of "the page has already been edited since the version I was" working with, and it asks me to hit "save" again to continue with changes.

I'm guessing that when you're hitting "Show preview", you're asking to open it another window/tab (instead of doing a normal click, you're right-clicking or command-clicking, or whatever alternate you've set up in your browser). That's not how show preview is designed to work, and as a result it forces a page save, defeating the whole purpose of the preview button. Try to always just do a regular click on the show preview button. --NepheleTalk 07:44, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

No, I don't do a right-click when previewing, I hit the "show preview" button, and when saving I don't right-click I use the "save page" button. The two problems I mentioned happening with saves above happen after I use the preview and then hit the "save page" button (not right-clicking it) with the preview still showing. I never use the "show changes" button, if that helps. I am always using the browser that launches in-game on pc, not a browser outside of the game, I don't know if that causes any known problems.

I launch the in-game browser by hitting shift+tab and I have this uesp site set at my homepage. I have the "edit" option show up as a tab usually, sometimes it also shows up as a link above the section of the page it edits. After editing, I click the "show preview" button at bottom of page, and if preview is okay then when saving I type in something next to "edit summary" to mention what the change was, then click "save page".

Sometimes when clicking "save page" the message I mentioned above "the page has already been edited since the version I was" working with, and it asks me to hit "save" again to continue with changes" occurs.

Dwarven Statue and Flag with No Names[edit]

Ask about... Do you know what the name of the monument/statue that is (still on the mountain) west of Mt Anthor? It has a dwarven sculpture face on the monument, two dwarven chests also, and on top of the monument are several potions (you would need to turn on tcl cheat to see them). Also, just south of this, slightly down the mountain is a flag on a cliff, with a mace and helmet under it (probably unrelated). You can see this from the dwarven monument if you stand on the edge of the cliff looking south, and it's not snowing. Are these already mentioned on this site? Neither of these are showing up on my map as having names. If they're not already on the site, I can add them, but I don't have names for them and haven't added anything completely new before. What should I do?--Anathema 08:55, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

Your Dragon...[edit]

...was it Vuljotnaak, maybe? I was just looking for it in the data and couldn't find anything by that name, but Vuljotnaak was awfully close and seems to be in the same area where you were. His level is radiant, like the other dragons, so maybe you just met a higher level version of him. Anyway, I'm no expert with the data, but that would be my guess ;). Hope that helps! eshetalk 14:02, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Hey Eshe Yes - I think that's it - Vuljotnaak. First named one I've run into besides Alduin during one quest. - Thanks! :) --Anathema 23:02, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Vamping Bugs[edit]

Anyone notice a bug when playing a vamp trying to feed in Karthwasten or Dragon Bridge? Possibly other of the smaller towns/villages too may have it, but basically you try to feed and get stuck - unable to move away from the side of the bed whether you're in sneaking pose or not, also viewpoint doesn't change things either - still stuck. Even trying to use console cheats like coc or movetoqt doesn't seem to work, at least it didn't for the ones I tried. Anyone know how to work around this (besides the obvious - find your food elsewhere).--Anathema 11:53, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
