page[edit]

hey your page is 64 kb long you might want to archive old topics --Arny 07:34, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

I think that might be a good idea as well :D a little long :P Mikeyboy52 07:54, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
Hm... Reaching 52, I guess I should. Nice fresh start, right? --Arch-Mage MattTalk 19:27, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
I see 67 why are we getting different numbers ?--TheAlbinoOrc 19:29, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
I did, but where it went isn't much better, it's still a mess... oh well... --Arch-Mage MattTalk 19:41, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
You should probably split it in half to reduce the page size of the archive.--TheAlbinoOrc 20:30, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
I did, but of course, I messed up. --Arch-Mage MattTalk 20:50, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

I Need Characters![edit]

Do you have any characters I can borrow? I'm wrapping up DoJAT (Diary of Jannessa Ar-Tivalen) and starting the sequel so I need some people please!--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 23:20, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

I'd take Colt from Escape to Valenwood. He's a Nord man, tall, serious, about fifty, and loyal to whatever he's doing. Is that enough information? --Arch-Mage MattTalk 23:50, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
What race do you need? MikeTalk 02:58, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Yeah he should work well. Do you mind if he's evil? As for the races I need 3 more Nords (Evil), 1 Orc (Good) and 5 Dunmer (Some good some evil).--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 18:06, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Sure make him die with dignity :) --Arch-Mage MattTalk 18:08, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Well if you prefer that to him escaping and leading an army against Jannessa I can work on it. Which do you like better?--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 18:11, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Whatever you like. --Arch-Mage MattTalk 18:12, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
I think both can be done if he loses the war so that should work well right?--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 18:15, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Essential[edit]

Was there a consensus on removing the essential parameter? If not then I advise stopping and asking someone. I didn't see one anywhere and that is why I ask. Same for GUM.--Corevette789 18:17, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

go see the runs-in-circles talk page and i think you'll find your ansewr ;)--GUM!!! 18:19, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
It's not anywhere on the normal Oblivion NPC pages, so I don't see why it is on the Shivering ones. Besides, it really is pointless. If an NPC isn't essential, then they just don't have that listed in their infobox. --Arch-Mage MattTalk 18:21, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
There was no desperate need to remove it, but it'll make the template coding a tiny bit simpler once we're sure they're all gone. As AMM points out, though, that parameter is entirely useless, at least if you just specify "No", so there was no need to seek consensus on it, really. Besides, it's great for AMM's edit count. ;) Robin Hoodtalk 19:22, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
Sorry for the delay here, I was occupated with AoE3. Heh, anyways I didn't mean to sound mean or anything. My reasoning for keeping them would have been for someone to look up if that character ever IS essential. But they are gone now so might as well keep it that way.--Corevette789 18:39, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks![edit]

Thanks for clearing up that double post! I knew there was a reason I didn't just go back to before i saved it to fix problems.--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 21:31, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

 :) No problem. --Arch-Mage MattTalk 21:36, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

ONPCRP Dialogue[edit]

Hey Matt! Just wanted to say thanks for your recent efforts writing dialogue for various NPCs. I also want to tell you that you never have to shy away from adding dialogue, even if it seems unimportant (like the innkeeper dialogue I just added to this page). If it is unique to the character, it is important - as a general rule. And it is much easier to remove stuff if we think it is unimportant later on. Also, remember to add a (in-game) or (CS) to the ONPCRP tag, so the other project members know if they can check it or not. Oh, and you don't have to work too much on Amusei - as you can see on my page, I'm in the middle of writing a very huge and detailed page for that NPC. Anyways, keep up the good work! --Krusty 17:07, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Also, remember to check if the dialogue is unique to that NPC - I just made a mistake on the Astante page (not your fault, my fault) - I figured that since the dialogue is used by all the residents of Brindle Home, it would be better as a rumor on Melus Petilius' page. Unfortunately, after I removed the dialogue, I found out that the dialogue was already added to Melus' page by rpeh. Sorry about that - but it is not unique to Astante so it should not be on her page. --Krusty 13:11, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
OK, thanks, and sorry ;) --Arch-Mage MattTalk 19:04, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
No need to be sorry at all - I made a mistake and thought you deserved to know what was going on (or at least what I intended when I wrote that Edit Summary). Keep up the good work! :) --Krusty 19:23, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

move[edit]

Hi, I moved your recommendations story to the correct spelling, hope you don't mind! Corvus 17:17, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Of course I don't mind! Thanks!--Arch-Mage MattTalk 22:11, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Pfft, New Guy[edit]

Hey, I just set up a user name on the UESPwiki and I can't find my user page. Could you tell me how to get there? — Unsigned comment by 67.142.172.26 (talk)

Depends if you have made a user page or not. First sign in using the link in the top right corner. Then click on your username (it should appear first in a list of choices in the same top right corner. Clicking on it if it is blue will lead you to your userpage. If it is red, click on it and you will be prompted with creating a userpage (at which point you just enter information into the box). And Matt, I moved this comment from your archive, so hope you don't mind. Vesna 00:19, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Active?[edit]

I noticed you still have the section of the notice saying you are on vacation. I saw you editing today and wondered if it was this Tuesday or next? You missed a lot of stuff too.--Corevette789 21:15, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, it was this tuesday. I did see I missed some stuff, mister soon to be patroller :)--Arch-Mage MattTalk 22:11, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Not only me, Jplanetum too. And a FA nomination.--Corevette789 22:39, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Doubled Userbox[edit]

IS it intentional for your Genius userbox to be on your page twice?--TheAlbinoOrcany_questions? 21:13, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

No, it isn't. Thanks! --Arch-Mage MattTalk 21:34, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
You're welcome!--TheAlbinoOrcany_questions? 21:46, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Picture Help[edit]

Hey there, as you know I'm new to the site, and I've been trying to spruce up my userpage with userboxes. It was going fine until I tried to make my own, because I have no idea how to get pictures to go into my boxes. I have been pouring over the information on creating my own boxes but I think I may be missing something! Thanks. IMitchow 02:39, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Well, one pictue on my userbox is [[Image:OB-object-Varla_Stone.jpg]]... click on any image, copy then paste the name, then put the [[]] around it. That should make an image. --Arch-Mage MattTalk 02:58, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
I feel like a doofus. It still isn't working, and I've left my failed attempt on my userpage, so hopefully you can see what I'm doing wrong. IMitchow 03:13, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
It would be [[File:OB-npc-Adoring Fan.jpg]].
You had the wrong Image name. I fixed it for you.--Corevette789 03:59, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
Awesome, thanks so much. IMitchow 04:01, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Help[edit]

Well, first of all make your own section on my talk page ;). I'd look at all the links on your talk page welcome first, and if you have any questions farthur than that ask me. --Arch-Mage MattTalk 02:13, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
Theres a few pages you can look at to see what pages we really need. You can also look at the project page. At the moment I can't really think of the page names and I just woke up ;D MikeTalk 04:25, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

More Help[edit]

Hi,i have a problem to choose my favourite character,to say it some way,i use to like to specialite to magic, but i want still fight in combat, but its so weak my character,do you know how to make a good batle mage character ? what i must do or train ? — Unsigned comment by Conterboy150 (talkcontribs) on July 24 2010

First of all, raise his speed. Then you can wear heavy armor without the annoyance of walking around slowly. Then, make a good enchanted weapon with a damaging effect. That makes your fighting skill stronger. Enchant your armor with shield spells and resist normal weapon effects, too. --Arch-Mage MattTalk 21:21, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Help[edit]

OK Matt i made my section so now i would like you to help me contribute to this site :). Ascaffo 01:10, 26 July 2010 (UTC) Ascaffo

Well, I'd check out these three links first, that'd make you a good starting editor. Remember this, also: Spelling, writing from an informed point of view and writing well are key to become a good editor. I'd also look for projects to see if there is anything there you can help with. More important projects are the Morrowind Redesign Project, Oblivion NPC Redesign Project, Oblivion Places Redesign Project, and possibly even the Daggerfall Redesign Project. If you have any more questions after checking out all of this information, ask me! --Arch-Mage MattTalk 01:20, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Hey and would it be ok if i added you on xbox360.

TheEnigmaticMan's Diction[edit]

Sir,
TheEnigmaticMan is not a person. He is an abstract, transmundane mental image. Thus, He requires an intermediary in order to communicate with humans. He does not speak of Himself in 3rd person; He does not "speak" at all. Instead, I, mendicantb, speak for Him. I created him as a joke, He is meant to be a feature of a corporations boardroom - a silent, black-clad man who is so enigmatic that everybody around Him feels compelled to reveal all of their plots and purposes. I thought He would serve as a useful and whimsical avatar on this site. I also use Him as my Xbox Live Profile and on Create Debate (without the definite article, allowing 1st person speech). If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Regards,
| mendicantb

RE: Photography.[edit]

Thank you for the advice. --TheEnigmaticMan 18:07, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Oblivion- arrows[edit]

Hey, Matt, do you know a good place to find arrows of high quality in oblivion/shivering isles/knights of the nine(dont have the other ad ons) like daedric arrows or magic arrows? Bolosanti 17:22, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

I'd first stop by at The Archer's Paradox. After that, also in Bravil, is Jean-Pierre Lemonds, who has a 50% chance of having magic arrows. Your Knights of the Nine also have leveled arrows, if you want to pickpocket them (or kill respawning ones, if you have any) --Arch-Mage MattTalk 17:27, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Oh and if u ever did the Boethia shrine mission. In the tournament of 10 Bloods. There are archers. They have a huge amount of enchanted arrows. Some very strongAscaffo 16:20, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Ascaffo

Suggestions for Thief/Assassin character[edit]

I really want a Thief/Assassin Character but I cant decide how to play it out. I started reading into efficient leveling and I tried it out but its just to much for me. I want all the benefits of the +5 attributes every level but without having to completely focus training unnecessary skills. Alchemy is an automatic skill for me, major or minor, I need it to make money and potions. I don't like using magic and I love the fact that any magic spell I can cast can just as easily be made into a potion/poison. Could I possibly get a few suggestions on a good class setup and how to level my character in a way that gets me at least +5 in agility and endurance every level?

         Much Appreciated
              -Alver415®-

I'd have, with your Alchemy, the following skills:

  • Sneak, Security, Mercentile, Blade, Light Armor, and Alteration. (As much as you may not like it, it has great Open Lock spells. They are needed if you ever run out of Lockpicks 'On the field'. I'd jump everwhere and take lots of damage to level up in agility and endurance. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 16:37, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

RE: Alluring Potion Bottles[edit]

Do you know of any way by which I can make custom potions use the modded bottles, as opposed to the vanilla ones?
Regards,
TheEnigmaticMan 12:35, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

I don't know, I haven't treid to make any custom potions since I got the mod. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 15:32, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Minor, minor cleanup?[edit]

You know those two edits deleted 2K of text, right? Seems a lot for a minor, minor cleanup. rpeh •TCE 18:55, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

I just deleted some reccomendations for what to wear, really - and Necromancer suggestions in the Witch section. When I'm doing it it just seems like deleting something here, a bit there, etc. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 19:03, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
Fair enough. I just wondered if that was what you'd intended, given the mistake in the middle there. rpeh •TCE 19:23, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

No, there are several. In fact, two out of the four active Administrators are female. See Female Users for more, though those are only the ones that have the appropriate userbox on their page. Robin Hoodtalk 08:58, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
