Welcome[edit]

Hello AudreyGally! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:

If you would like to spice up your userpage, click here for a list of userboxes you can use, including a guide to making your own.

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! —Skyrimplayer (talk) 18:43, 19 October 2012 (GMT)

Ingredients[edit]

Hey there Audrey. I realised that you have been editing a lot of the ingredient articles. On one part, I agree with you that the ordering of the headings you did are okay as it complies with our style guide, and good job so far! On the other hand, I do not understand why you changed the headings from "Plants"/"Creatures" to "Sources", as the former is more specific than the latter. Furthermore, other game namespaces such as Oblivion and Shivering uses "Plants" or "Creatures". These should be changed back to what they were before, as it is more specific, and also to be consistent throughout the site. ~ Psylocke 01:58, 8 November 2012 (GMT)

Thank you, Psylocke! I do apologize for changing the headings. I asked in the chat about it, and I understood there should be no problem to change them all to "Sources". But of course, I'll change them back as soon as posible! And I'm very sorry for causing trouble. Audrey Gally talk 02:15, 8 November 2012 (GMT)
Just a minor question... some of the ingredients already had "Sources" writen down, instead of "Creature" or "Plant" (like the Abecean Logfin). Should I change those too, so they can be consistent? As long as the ingredient comes from a creature/plant, of course. If it's only sold by merchants or already harvested samples, then I'll leave the "Sources" name. What do you think? Audrey Gally talk 02:28, 8 November 2012 (GMT)
Yeap, the longfins, carps and various insects for example, are considered passive creatures, so changing the heading to "Creature" should be the correct thing to do. If any ingredients do not fall within the two categories—as you have pointed out with the merchants—leaving the heading as "Sources" should be fine. ~ Psylocke 02:35, 8 November 2012 (GMT)
Psylocke, I asked for consensus in the CP because I received different inputs about this subject (the other two from experienced editors, like you). Would you be so kind to express your point of view there too? Since you have edited the ingredients pages too, I understand you have a helpful point of view about this too. So, just for the moment, I won't change the names until this subject is cleared (I'll just make some other different minor edits, for consistence). When the consensus has been reached, I'll gladly change the subjects accordingly, I'm ready to help! :D Audrey Gally talk 18:27, 8 November 2012 (GMT)
