Hello![edit]

Hello Sn0L3prd! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:

If you, on the other hand, would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at this link:

  • Userboxes: near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to make your own

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! --Kitkat1749 TalkContribE-mail 06:32, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

Images[edit]

Hey there - and thanks for the images of the Ancestor Moth Crypt and Guard House. Just did a whole lot of renaming and formatting, so you may want to look through Guard House and Oblivion:Temple of the Ancestor Moths (place) and check it out. Try and click on the newly formatted images for the correct names - and note that all images like that needs to be in 4:3, so I chopped off the sides of the whole lot. Finally, I marked the private quarters for cleanup, as the image contained health bars and stuff like that. Thanks again. --Krusty 06:40, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

No problem. I can redo them. I forgot to do tm and clear bars. And I will crop them down to the appropriate sizes before uploads. I have a list of all the Oblivion pages needing images and I plan to have everything uploaded within two weeks time. Sn0L3prd 22:09, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
Concerning your Eletta and Zahrasha pics, I've moved them here and here, because OB-People-... is not an appropriate namespace. You'd replaced the npc intro-images for yours, claiming they were inappropriate. However, they are initially alive (I didn't know that either until now), so pictures of them alive are not inappropriate, since it's still ingame etc. Anyway, I thought moving them to quest-A Mage's Staff makes sense as they die as part of the quest. I did add cleanup tags since the images are in the wrong format (intro-images should be square, and generally all other 4:3 format) and the quality is poor.
Since you seem willing to help out the site by uploading images, let me give you very important tips as the image guru around here (so I've been called, and I don't feel ashamed to use that status :P), cause as long as I'm around, things need to be of the best possible quality ;), taking images is serious business, but fun business nonetheless. Here are the tips:
  • Max out the game's graphics: Use the highest possible resolution and move all the sliders in the graphics options to the right and turn on every feature for maximum quality. Personally I prefer Bloom Lighting, as normally you're not able to turn on HD Lightning and antialiasing, and it looks better for images anyway. Your game may be laggy and slow and all that, but that's not important for pictures anyway.
  • Use codes for the perfect shot: tm is a must, as images HAVE to be interface free. Also a very important code to get the right shots is tfc to move the camera around freely, so you can zoom in as much as possible and get the best angle possible for a shot. Make sure the player character is NEVER in the shot, that is of utmost importance, you can use tcl to be sure (although there are exceptions, like this one I took, but see how I wore dwarven gauntlets as to not reveal race/gender). Other codes may come in handy too, like forcing the weather to be clear because rain may mess up the pic. You should check out the Console article for more useful codes.
  • Take your time: Take as many pictures as you can, tap that button, so afterwards you can choose the best one from that huge heap of images. Also, try different angles, cause some angles are just better than others.
  • Make sure the lighting is right: Either light up the place ingame, or edit the image afterwards with a professional program. Try to do the latter first, since you can make a picture look natural that way without a torch or light spell effect (though that can also be made less obvious through editing). You could even make the picture look of better quality by playing around with contrast and such. Though this part is something you should get the hang of, you'll probably won't get it right at the first times. If you don't have a decent image editing program, other users can also edit them for you, so uploading a good image but with i.e. poor lighting is not a bad thing, someone will probably come along and edit them, don't be shy to ask someone before or after uploading an image.
These are some tips that could help out a lot. I hope they're useful, good luck! ~ Dwarfmp 22:46, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for the pointers, Dwarfmp. Sn0L3prd 02:43, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
One question, Dwarfmp. is 4:3 meant as height:width or width:height? Sn0L3prd 04:32, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
It's width:height.
OngoingwhyTalk 04:39, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
Thank you. I had been doing Height:Width. That's were the problem lies lol. Sn0L3prd 06:06, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

() A few other codes that come in very handy:

  • tai - Freezes an NPC's AI, so you can get a good pose on them and then hit them from every angle. Also very nice when you're taking pictures of hostile NPCs (they aren't trying to hit you every two seconds :P)
  • fw - Forces weather to be nice. For exterior place shots, this is a must. Try fw 38eee in Cyrodiil and fw 78801 in the Shivering Isles.
  • Light Spell Recolor mod. The nuclear green on the standard spell just doesn't hack it, the best one in my opinion is "Dim White" but you can try the other white shade too. If an interior is dark (especially in dungeons) cast a light spell, then tfc and take the pic. You get and excellent bright shot.

As Dwarfmp said, keep practicing. That's the only way to get better. :) --SerCenKing Talk 11:06, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

Tyermaillin‎[edit]

Hello! I feel that the location of his house is rather relevant, therefore I placed it in the article. However, I agree that the bug should be in the notes section.
OngoingwhyTalk 03:26, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

I understand your reasoning, but the way I was thinking was that it seemed more like a side note. It is indeed important but the paragraph was about him and his services, so I figured it would be more in place elsewhere, so I moved it. But I can understand what you mean. Sn0L3prd 03:33, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
You're right about that, but I figured that it would be important enough to be in the article since some people find have trouble finding him.

You would ruin a perfectly good chocolate cake with coconut? MONSTER!!!!! But really happy birthday. ;) --DKong27 Tk Ctr Em 01:53, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Request[edit]

Please can you tell whoever else uses your computer that their efforts are not appreciated. If it was you, don't do it again. rpeh •TCE 08:37, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

My entire family uses this one computer. I assure you I don't approve of vandalism and stuff like that. I will keep a tighter watch on my laptop and I give my word an incidence like this will not reoccur Sn0L3prd 08:45, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks - I'm glad to hear it. Please ask the other members of your family not to do it again. rpeh •TCE 09:07, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

A questioon to ask...[edit]

I place this not knowing were to place it, and hoping someone will stumble across it. May the next person who knows, please direct me to were I can find the template for a table. I want to add a table to my page to clean up the Mods List. Thank you, kindly. Sn0L3prd 21:49, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

See the help page for tables. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 21:58, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
Thank you. I actually just found it myself. I was searching under Template lol

Another Question[edit]

I have searched through the "Help" area for tables and can't find a result. I was wondering if it was possible to make a table collapsible, as my mod list is long, and if someone could please direct me to the appropriate area if it is possible. Many, many thanks. Sn0L3prd 03:52, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

You can add "collapsible" and "collapsed" to the "class=" attribute of the table. Ie, {| class="wikitable collapsible" or {| class="wikitable collapsible collapsed".
I'll add a section to the help page. I forgot to add it when I added the new attributes. rpeh •TCE 08:22, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
Thank you, kindly. Sn0L3prd 16:55, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

A possible rename?[edit]

Is it possible to do a rename? I am known as Eric Snowmane is several other places and for some reason being the Sn0L3prd on this one is tripping me. If a rename is possible and anyone knows where to go or what to do then please tell me. Thanks if you can or someone does. If its is not possible, thanks anyways. I want to be called Eric Snowmane
Sn0L3prd 02:03, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Any admin can do it for you. I'm sure that one will be along relatively shortly. If after a day or so no one seems to notice than you can talk to one directly, or sooner if you really wanted... --DKong27 Tk Ctr Em 02:31, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Personal Combat Build[edit]

(moved off of Morrowind_talk:Classes because this question doesn't belong there, and I can see if I need to answer, because I always forget about that watchlist button, lol)

I've just created a Combat charachter, but reading the Class Page & Levelling page, I don't know if it would wok very well. Could you tell me, before I go on ?

Class: Berserker

Specialization: Combat

Favorite Attributes: - Strength - Endurance

Major Skills: - Long Blade - Heavy Armor - Block - Armorer - Athletics

Minor Skills: - Restoration - Security - Sneak - Speechcraft - Mercantile

Birth Sign: The Astronach

Are you askinig for another player's opinion on the set up itself as a whole or a particular aspect? If I understand the question, and you want an opinion, it appears to be a well balanced stealth-combat class, similar to a style I use. But, The Atronauch stunts magic regeneration, while giving a multiplier of INT X2 to max magicka. That is fairly unimportant for one magic skill. Personally, with this build, I would use the Lady's boosted Personality and Endurance. Higher e=Endurance raises maximum health, giving you a higher starting health, among other things, and the Personality boost would be a big help to Speechcraft and Mercantile early on. Did I address the question properly for you? Or is there another question you like? I am extremely knowledgeable about Morrowind, so any further questions you have can be asked on my talk page. I am always happy to help. Eric SnowmaneTalkEmailContributions 08:58, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
Yes that was the idea, but I don't know how to use well a wiki ( and just now I saw a Forum link on the left of the page (facepalm) ) without writing in wrong section. Thank's for the help. One thing: can I, maybe through command line, edit the character without rebuilding him ( since I realized a personal build, I also wrote down some description. I've just enterd the first city and saved in front of the door.
Pull up the console and, accoring to Morrowind Mod:EnableCharacterMenus, using EnableBirthMenu would do that. I don't know what kind of things could go wrong if you do class and races changes midgame. Maybe you should make a 2nd save to test it on first. Eric SnowmaneTalkEmailContributions 09:18, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
Although, if it doesn't work, since you're still in Seyda Neen, you could always take 5 minutes to just restart from the begining. Eric SnowmaneTalkEmailContributions 09:21, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
