IRC ban[edit]

Hi, I totally understand the ban. It is rather annoying indeed all these connect/disconnect messages because of my unstable internet connection. I'd like my ban revoked so that I can have access to the IRC channel again in the future. I won't be joining without a reason to talk, and be gone as soon as I'm done there in order to keep the nuisance to a minimum. --KlepT|E|C 15:07, 17 January 2015 (GMT)

I'd be happy to. I only meant to do it for an hour or so since there was an active conversation going, and I forgot about it. I'll do it immediately. :) -damon  talkcontribs 17:37, 17 January 2015 (GMT)
Much obliged! --KlepT|E|C 18:10, 17 January 2015 (GMT)

Sandbox 8[edit]

Hey Damon! I was just going to ask you why there are five visible bullet points when viewing this page. It's part of the "I'm not interested." player response, right above the "Royal Guard" topic. Thanks in advance for all your help! :) Dragon Guard  (talk) 14:14, 24 January 2015 (GMT)

It's because your previous bulletpoint was outdented. To fix it, replace any unneeded * with a :. —Legoless (talk) 14:17, 24 January 2015 (GMT)
You are right; it works perfectly. Thank you, Legoless. Will drop by here again if I have any more questions apart from this — in the future — aside from the related articles — can I only ask questions on the talk pages of mentors or can I ask you (even though you're not a mentor, but an admin)? Dragon Guard  (talk) 14:44, 24 January 2015 (GMT)
You can ask whoever you think might be able to answer easiest. Today, however, I would advise it not be me, as I'm about to go out and won't be here for several hours. -damon  talkcontribs 14:45, 24 January 2015 (GMT)
But what I ask is still within limits, I assume? For example: I couldn't start posting image requests for Skyrim on Dwarfmp's talk page, could I? Another example: I can't ask people on their talk pages what their thoughts on Tribunal are (opinions etc)? Dragon Guard  (talk) 16:11, 24 January 2015 (GMT)
Yes, the normal rules still apply. No and no. If you want to talk opinions, IRC is a great spot to check out, as are the Forums. Hope I helped! ~ Ad intellige (talk) 16:43, 24 January 2015 (GMT)
And now when I use colons before the bullet points the same thing happens to the next line :( Minor glitch? Dragon Guard  (talk) 18:19, 24 January 2015 (GMT)
I figured seeing it done would explain it better than I could in words, so have a look at your sandbox and see what I did. Basically, once you start indenting with bullets, every line under that bullet has to start with at least the same number of asterisks, otherwise the bulleting gets reset and it does the multiple bullets thing. So to indent more underneath a second-level bullet, you start with two asterisks, then add colons as needed after that. Robin Hood  (talk) 18:51, 24 January 2015 (GMT)
Thank you, RH. That's what I thought as well; it's very hard to explain in words, but show someone an image...and they'll have a mental image in their head and know what's wrong.. :P Dragon Guard  (talk) 20:25, 24 January 2015 (GMT)

Servers apart[edit]

Sorry Damon, you are absolutely right that we are on the different servers (not sure why I thought you were on European server?). I proposed adding you to friendlist because of the " I wasn't certain how to contact her" etc. So I thought maybe ESO friendlist would work - but it doesn't really matter now haha. Sorry for derailing the nomination thread :) Regarding the UESP guild: the European guild is rather small and many of us probably often play solo. UESP NA branch might well be similar, in which case you might enjoy being part of the guild. These are just my thoughts :p Tib (talk) 10:14, 8 August 2016 (UTC)

Well, in addition to preferring going solo, Tib, while I wouldn't mind playing ESO with some of the people I see listed as officers for the Euro's guild, the same can't be said for the NA guild officers, at least who are listed on the page. They are nice enough people to politely chat with on the wiki or forum or IRC if I must do so, but I don't like them enough to game with them. Because I don't care for online games with other people, I am extraordinarily particular about who I'd tolerate playing with, you know? :p -damon  talkcontribs 19:21, 8 August 2016 (UTC)

Tumblr[edit]

Hey Damon, send me an email containing your email address used for Tumblr. For some reason, that's the only way for me to add people to the Tumblr. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 02:33, 5 September 2016 (UTC)

Alright, will do. -damon  talkcontribs 03:55, 5 September 2016 (UTC)

Etiquette[edit]

I see that you just reverted my edit on Morrowind:Death_of_a_Taxman. Without getting into the specifics of this edit, my understanding if wiki etiquette is that, if you disagree with an edit, you discuss it with the contributor before reverting it. That way you avoid edit wars. Is this wiki different? Tungsic (talk) 04:15, 18 October 2016 (UTC)

The recommended cycle normally is bold, revert, discuss. You boldly made changes, Damon reverted them, so now, if you object to the reversion, you discuss. From the looks of it, though, someone has restored the relevant information without mentioning the mod, which is obviously what Damon was objecting to, so I'd guess there's no need for discussion, but that's for the two of you to figure out. :) Robin Hood  (talk) 06:03, 18 October 2016 (UTC)

Help Wanted[edit]

So... I saw this script on the internet and was curious if it would work, and rather than set the date for something short, I stupidly set it for 100 years, 2 months, and change. I can report back that the script works, however I stupidly didn't think it through and now all of my login attempts are met with a scripted force logout.

Sometime in the next couple of days I'm going to need an administrator to revert the most recent edit to User:Damon/common.js, ideally sometime within the next 50 years, because being back here - or even alive - when I'm 125 seems... No so likely. No rush, though it's not like I have any important projects to get to so I can wait somewhat patiently considering it was entirely my own idiocy that got me in this predicament. ~Damon

Done. Good job! Robin Hood  (talk) 07:58, 14 January 2017 (UTC)
