Welcome[edit]

Hello! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:

If you, on the other hand, would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at this link:

  • Userboxes: near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to make your own

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! --Elliot (talk) 05:28, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

Tamriel Rebuilt[edit]

Hiya. It's great to see you editing the Tamriel Rebuilt pages - sometimes I feel like the only one who does! There are a couple of points worth mentioning though. First, when linking to other TR3 pages, please can you use the {{TR3}} template? It should make your life easier, and it helps keep pages consistent. Second, take care when adding information to Map 2 pages. This one's a bit more tricky. Map 2 isn't finished yet - there are no quests and an awful lot of things will probably change before the final release. I know it's not nice to see so many pages as stubs, but in general I left them like that so we know they need writing when Map 2 is finally released.

In short, feel free to keep writing, but realise that we might end up re-writing all your stuff at some point. rpeh •TCE 07:58, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for telling me about the {{TR3}} template, I didn't even know about it. As for the map two stuff, a little walkthrough is better than nothing, and I intend to wholeheartedly take part in rewriting what I've done when the time comes. Halfstache 08:05, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Great to hear! Just thought I ought to warn you what's likely to happen. rpeh •TCE 08:09, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Just as a defence... when you find yourself writing 500 NPC summaries in one stretch, one looks for variation in phrasing to break the monotony, hence this. I'm not criticising your change, just asking for a little excuse for my original phrasing! rpeh •TCE 22:57, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
I know what you mean, and I bet I'll probably end up doing it sometime soon. And I know we'll all be doing during November and December. Halfstache 23:08, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Cookie[edit]

You have been given a cookie!

Your dedication and diligence to the wiki has not gone unnoticed. A user has seen the progress you've made, and has given you a cookie because of it. Good work! The user had the following to say:

Going through and fixing up locations of books and making them consistent is pretty awesome, and you've done a ton of it. So thanks for that, and here's a cookie! Vely►Talk►Email 00:48, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Thank you! This being my first cookie, I will treasure it forever! --HalfStache 04:16, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Morrowind Trainers[edit]

Hi Halfstache! I'm just patrolling some old edits from the end of August, and I see you added a line or two about training to several Morrowind NPC pages. First off, thanks for doing that, but I was wondering...where are things like "medium trainer" and "minor trainer" coming from? I don't think I've seen those particular terms used before (usually it's "Journeyman" and "Apprentice" and whatnot). Are there specific criteria you were using for those qualifications? eshetalk 13:49, 28 September 2012 (GMT)

I based my word usage on previous people's usage. Major training was already in use to define training at level 70 or above. Minor training and basic training are interchangeable, but I prefer to use minor training. It was mostly used to define training at level 50 or below. Medium training was used as training between major and minor. This stuff was in general use before I came to the site. As to why it's not stuff like Journeyman or Apprentice, that is because those terms were used in-game to describe the trainers. Morrowind has no such in-game categorization, and so I used what had been in place in the articles where training was mentioned in the main article to try and standardize the rest. --HalfStache 22:07, 6 August 2012 (UTC) 01:46, 29 September 2012 (GMT)
Okay, cool! That's perfect then. If it's already on other pages, then I don't have to worry about matching the phrasing elsewhere. That's all I needed to know—thanks! eshetalk 02:51, 29 September 2012 (GMT)

Help! You look experienced.[edit]

Hi it's Tiber! I'm just wondering on how to customize your signature. Please help! --Tiberseptim2 (talk) 04:36, 18 June 2013 (GMT)

It took me awhile to figure that out, but it's actually pretty simple. Just go to "Preferences" (should be top-right of your screen) and then go down to signature. From there, it's all in the wiki code, where I'm no expert. I made mine by mixing and matching other peoples, so if you want help on that end, you can just go to the "edit" tab of a page with someone's signature, and then just look what they have. Hope that was helpfull! --HalfStache 07:01, 18 June 2013 (GMT)

Cheers!--Tiberseptim2 (talk) 04:57, 19 June 2013 (GMT)
