Welcome[edit]

Signature[edit]

May I turn your attention to a passage in the middle section of the welcome message you got:

"[...] remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~."

You may also use the signature button just above the edit box when you are writing.

If you do not, someone will have to to the work with having to add an unsigned template on each of your unsigned posts. Hope you find this helpful. —MortenOSlash (talk) 08:14, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

Can you please start to add signature to your contributions on talk pages? —MortenOSlash (talk) 19:39, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
Bringing this up again. Please sign your posts as you're creating a ton of extra work that shouldn't have to be done. —Dillonn241 (talk) 05:30, 25 June 2018 (UTC)

Forum Posts[edit]

Hey PrinceRetro, I am glad you are taking interest in the UESPWiki. However, most of your posts during the last two months are not suitable for wiki talkpage discussions. UESP (and other wikis) are not forums. --Ilaro (talk) 19:09, 23 June 2018 (UTC)

Let me follow up and say, please do not continue this behaviour, as it ends up being disruptive to the UESPWiki, by only give people extra work cleaning up after you. If you want to discuss things that do not fit into the wiki, use our forums or join us on the Discord chatrooms here: https://discord.gg/uesp. —MortenOSlash (talk) 06:12, 27 June 2018 (UTC)

Warning[edit]

Stop hand.svg You have been asked several times to not make forum-like posts, and to avoid leaving talk page posts unsigned, but have continued to do so after each message. If you continue to abuse your editing privileges, this IP address will be blocked from editing. ~ Alarra (talkcontribs) 10:30, 1 July 2018 (UTC)

Hello, several users recently have noted that most of your posts are "forum-like", and that none are "signed". As the others said above, between the removal of the posts that don't belong, and needing to add a signature to the ones that remain, your edits are disruptive and cause additional work for others.

Talk pages are meant for discussions on editing the article at hand, such as suggesting formatting changes or asking for a source, not for discussing your thoughts on the character/etc that the page is about, or describing an experience you had with them (unless it's strictly relevant to writing the article). Such discussions are more suitable to our forum, if you can find an appropriate thread, or our Discord chat. To "sign" a talk page post, simply add four tildes ~~~~ at the end and it will automatically add your username/time of edit.

You've been asked 2-3 times for each already; please listen to what they are asking you to do to help avoid creating unnecessary extra work for others. ~ Alarra (talkcontribs) 10:30, 1 July 2018 (UTC)

Blocked[edit]

Stop X.svg This account has been blocked from editing UESPWiki for one week due to continued forum-like postings and unsigned messages despite multiple requests to change these behaviours. If you wish to appeal the block, you may make your request on your talk page, which you can still edit even while being blocked. Robin Hood  (talk) 02:20, 3 July 2018 (UTC)

unsigned messages[edit]

I know that is a rule but i'm puzzled at why no admin did not explain to me how I can sign my messages, I think I've explained before I had no knowledge of knowing how to do this! And my intentions were not to troll but to address stuff not mentioned on the wiki and believe me their is still more not mentioned.

And also I don't know how to respond to any of my messages see this is my first wiki I didn't not sign my messages deliberately I just didn't know how.

On this page alone, it's been explained three different times. Once you're finished typing a message, put a space, and then four tildes (~~~~). When you preview or save the page, that will automatically get converted into a signature and timestamp.
I can see where several of your messages are pointing out information that's missing, though some of them appear to be just commentary. While it's good that you're pointing out missing information, it's a lot better if you can add details like exact dialogue, where you were, what you did to try and figure out what's happening, that sort of thing. Also, consider how likely it is that someone will run into your situation in normal game play.
To reply to someone, all you have to do is edit the page, just like you did when you changed your message. To indent your reply (which is customary), you should start the line with one more colon (:) than the message above. So, for instance, I added one colon to each paragraph, to indent by one. If you reply to this message, you would add two colons to each message, I would add three colons to any reply I make, and so on. I'm willing to unblock you once you've shown that you can reply to this message (with a signature) and acknowledged that you'll do a little more investigating before posting in the future, or at least provide more details when you post. Thank you! Robin Hood  (talk) 04:55, 3 July 2018 (UTC)

Unsigned messages[edit]

Just a humble reminder to please note the need for adding signature to your contributions on talk pages. —MortenOSlash (talk) 10:22, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
