Welcome[edit]

Hello Psylocke! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:

If you would like to spice up your userpage, click here for a list of userboxes you can use, including a guide to making your own.

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! —The Silencer speaksTalk 15:29, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

Hello, and thanks for the cookie! I'm glad you liked what I did to the Dragon page. I don't really have much experience with wikis though.. but I'm learning fast! The 'Help' pages really.. well.. helped! A lot! Hope I can contribute more images and other stuff for the wiki and improve it :) ~ Psylocke 14:11, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
Hi Psylocke! ^_^ I think you have been making really great additions to the wiki and I love your images! One small note about the dragon images however is that I think creature images are suppose to have an aspect ratio of 1:1. — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 20:06, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
Hello Kimi! Thanks for the advice! I'm aware that it's encouraged for NPC/creature images to have 1:1 aspect ratio, although the 'Images help page' states there are no fixed rules for image sizes (likewise for quest/place to have 4:3). I will of course try to follow these guidelines as close as possible. Although I did read somewhere that it is better to have a full-body picture if it can't 'fit' in a 1:1 ratio (and dragons are usually quite wide with their wings). If I'm not mistaken, it was a sabre cat image. But no worries. Like I said, I'll keep to the guidelines where possible^^ ~ Psylocke 20:38, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
Somehow I missed seeing this cookie... I very much agree with it, great edits and images lately! I haven't been looking through all of your images, but I have to say that the Nahagliiv, Vuljotnaak, and Odahviing images you took look spectacular. Vely►t►e 15:20, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

Images[edit]

Hey Psylocke! Thanks for a quick delivery of images. As for the 'alternative' image of Skald in exile, just upload it separately, as 06. Thanks again! --Krusty 00:38, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

You're welcome. But as for the image, like I mentioned on the Requests page, it's an image of the argument (with Horik in the picture), not the exile. Anyway, sure I'll upload it. ~ Psylocke 00:47, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

Spectral Assasin dialogue[edit]

I noticed all the work you did with the Spectral Assassin dialogue. Very nice work. However, your edit summary seemed to imply that you were correcting the in-game dialogue using CSList. Is this the case? The Style Guide indicates that in-game info takes precedent over CSList and CK info. I'm not positive this would be true for dialogue as well, so I hope someone more experienced will chime in. If I'm mis-interpreting your edit summary, then please let me know and I'll just walk away quietly ;) --XyzzyTalk 14:12, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

That is indeed the case, Xyzzy. In-game always takes precedence over Construction Set info. ThuumofReason 14:18, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
I understand your concern Xyzzy. What I meant to say was, I was correcting the dialogue lines that are already in the article. Those lines are slightly inaccurate as they do not match in-game subtitles. So, I used CSList to correct this. Also, I remember Jak Atakka saying that CSList is more extensive than CK, because it includes all of the in-game data, including the data that wasn't included in the final game. So, the dialogue lines found in CSList matches in-game subtitles, and does not go against guidelines set by Style Guide. ~ Psylocke 14:21, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
Actually, Psylocke, since the CSList has more extensive information, it has the exact same info as the CK but with some more (like scripts; I can see some parts of a quest script in the CK, but not other scripts). The words in the CK and CSList should be exactly the same, as the CK does illustrate dialogue. Sometimes the subtitles do not match the voiced dialogue, but this is very rare. In that case, the CK would actually be the better place to check, as in addition to reading what will be used in the game as subtitles, one may listen to the recorded dialogue, which is not available in CSList. Vely►t►e 15:45, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks alot for your input Vely! Now that we've established that both CK and CSList contain dialogue info that are exactly identical, and they match in-game subtitles, I guess I can continue using the CSList to extract dialogue lines for various NPCs then. Alot of NPC articles are stubs which are missing dialogues. As for voiced dialogue that don't match subtitles, I believe this is usually grammar-based errors (like missing/repeated words, spelling etc.). So I'll just use Sic-tags like what I did with the Spectral Assassin dialogues. ~ Psylocke 15:56, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

Alik'r Images[edit]

Hey Psylocke! Thank you so much for the Alik’r images – page looks great, although I have one (slightly annoying) request: can you retake the shot of the two warriors in Whiterun in broad daylight? Not because it is too dark, but because it is hard to see Whiterun in the background. Thanks in advance! ☺ Also, a quick question – cslist suggests that both the warriors in the wilderness are wearing the hood – but looking at your shot of the Redguard Woman scene, one of them is missing the hood. Am I reading cslist wrong here? Again, thanks for the images! --Krusty 10:39, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Sure, your first request is easy enough. As for the Redguard woman scene, well.. you read CSList right. I just checked too.. I think I spawned the wrong BaseID for one of them haha xD! Don't worry, I'll work on that! :) ~ Psylocke 10:53, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
Thank you so much. I'm going to launch the page this evening, so there's no rush - I just have a feeling that someone, at some point, will complain about that missing hood. :D --Krusty 19:04, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Request[edit]

Hey Psylocke!I was wondering.Could you provide some images for my sandbox?Like with yourself showing off a few of the strategies combat strategies I created.I'm not sure if I can ask you to do this, but I thought I'd take a chance.I would do it myself, but I play Skyrim on the PS3.Thank you for anything you can do.Here's the link.--Skyrimplayer 20:41, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Just to poke my nose in a bit, we have a page for Image Requests. You might want to ask there, since several people check that page and can provide you with the screenshots you want!
--kiz talkemail 20:51, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Kiz.I should have remembered. But I don't know if there's a rule against it.As it really is'nt offcial. So I decided that it would be safest to contact Psylocke. Her screenshots are great! But I'll do what you said.I just need assurance that I won't get in trouble for it.--Skyrimplayer 20:56, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Psylocke, are the new images listed in the order they come in on the page, if so I won't have to keep copying the name?--Br3admax 04:16, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Not a big deal, Br3admax, but typically the way the Image Requests page is set up, the person requesting the images is the one who puts them on the article. ABCface 04:22, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Yeah, I uploaded them in order of the list. But I believe the policy is for the requester to place the images by him/herself. ~ Psylocke 04:24, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

() Sorry for jumping in there so fast, Psylocke! Since I made the rules for that page, I try to keep on top of making sure they're followed! ABCface 04:26, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

Quest Trigger Books[edit]

Hey Psylocke, you've recently added some books to Quest Trigger Books. I believe there are some books that trigger the Forgotten Vale Books Quest. However, I haven't played Dawnguard yet, so you'll probably know more about the details. Maybe you want to add the books to the table? (BTW, that's a great gallery!) --Holomay 13:12, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi Holomay, thanks for pointing that out. Now that you've brought up even more books, I'm thinking maybe that whole section should be replaced with a new sub-category under Category:Skyrim-Quest Books, maybe named Category:Skyrim-Quest Books-Quest Triggers? Hmmm... perhaps I should get more input first before I do something drastic xD Patrollers, advice please, thanks! :) ~ Psylocke 14:05, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
I don't think it is necessary to add a sub-category, even with the four unknown books that is only 8 books and half of them are from the same quest. In fact im not even sure why that section was added there? — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 14:11, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
I added the little table as a temporary solution after this discussion. The initial description next to the "Quest Books" link on Skyrim:Books was "opening the book for the first time adds a quest to your journal". So linking it to the Quest Books category (which lists all books related to quests) did not match the description. I think it's a good idea to point out the books which are not only related to quests, but actually trigger them. In the end the Skyrim:Books page and the subcategories should be consistent with Morrowind:Books and Oblivion:Books, but even these two are not consistent and there are a lot of considerations to be made: On Oblivion:Books, there's also a Marker Books link to a subsection of the books article - for Skyrim, there's just Category:Skyrim-Marker_Books. On Morrowind:Books, there's a Faction Books link to a full article - for Skyrim, there's just Category:Skyrim-Faction_Books. Also, how to include notes or letters that trigger quests? --Holomay 14:46, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

Categories[edit]

I noticed you removed the spaces from the place categories. Whilst that is how it is suppose to be to include it under its letter, alot of other categories have the space included. Without the space they all appear together on the first page of the category, however with the space they appear on the pages first letter which just separates them for no real reason. I'm not sure if we have any rules about this, but I would prefer to re add the spaces. I myself think they make finding what your looking for alot easier when they are all together. — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 08:09, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Well, it all started when I was browsing through random pages and came across Category:Skyrim-Places-Dwarven Ruins‎. It wasn't sorted (or rather, sorted at "S") so I added "|Dwarven Ruins". When I went to Category:Skyrim-Places to check, I realised quite a number are sorted by its letter while the rest aren't. So I went on to remove the spaces so that they are sorted by letter.
However, if you believe that the spaces should be re-added, then just say the word and I'll do it. Shouldn't be much of a problem—it took me around 15mins or so. ~ Psylocke 08:39, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
Wait, belay that xD I think I may have a better idea. I jut went to do a little sight-seeing at Category:Skyrim and realised that a few categories are quite messy. A lot of the sub-categories of Category:Skyrim-NPCs are sorted by letter, as well as the 3 sub-categories in Category:Skyrim-Factions. Some categories in Category:Skyrim-Quests are also sorted by letter. So, it's like a mixture of sorting by "spaces" and by letters.
Why not bring this up somewhere (CP? or simply just use my talkpage? idk) and arrive at a consensus. After that, I'll help out in correcting all the categories per the consensus (okay, maybe not all categories; just the ones under Category:Skyrim). Shouldn't be too much of a hassle for me, since it's just fixing the category sortings (and since I'm the one that sorted that Places page, it feels only right that I undo it, if needed). ~ Psylocke 09:05, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
If a formal discussion about this is brought up, it should be on the CP, but for now I'll add my input here. Personally I prefer that spaces are used for subcategories, especially when it comes to categories which contain a large number of pages. It does make it much easier to find what you're looking for, plus I think it somewhat applies to this guideline from UESPWiki:Categories:
  • If an article is a particularly important member of a category, then it may be appropriate to make the article always appear at the start of the category, before any other articles that are listed in the category. This is accomplished by starting the sortkey with a space, for example [[Category:Example| Categories]] -- note the space that appears before the word "Categories".
I realize that this guideline is referring to articles, and that category articles already sort "subcategories" from "pages" into different sections on the category page, so some people might find this manner of sorting for that purpose a bit redundant, but I still think that this would apply. Having the subcategories sorted by letter can sometimes force the subcategories to be split into two (or more) different pages (making you click the "(next 200)" link to see them), and I think it's better to keep all subcategories at the top if possible.
Anyway, that's my input; my first instinct was to revert the 100+ changes, but I'll wait and see what others have to say before doing anything. ABCface 13:46, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the cookies Krusty!! It's "MASSIVE" because it took me a looong time to complete it, like 6-7 weeks xD But I think it's all worth it; Delphine is a main character in the game and it's nice to see that she finally has a complete article like other important NPCs :D ~ Psylocke 16:17, 20 September 2012 (GMT)

You're welcome - and 'massive' is not a bad word! ;) By the way, I hope you're up for a surreal photoshoot in Avanchnzel in the near future. Thanks and question[edit]

Hey Psylocke! Thank you so much for a brilliant bunch of images from the weird quest in Avanchnzel. Can you take a look and see if you are happy with my choices? I made a small ‘cheat’ with the Roots-closeup, but it seems to work. Other than that, my only concern is that the page may need an image of From-Deepest-Fathoms when she wanders aimlessly around in Riften? What do you think? --Krusty (talk) 09:30, 24 September 2012 (GMT)

Heee.. you're welcome :) I was trying to figure out what 'cheat' you meant, and now I see. You're referring to image 07 right? The caption is from a different scene. Well, I guess people won't really notice it, or won't bother much about it. And you're right, it seems that the caption fits the image, considering it is Roots' dialogue and the image is Roots' closeup. As for Fathoms wandering aimlessly, I guess that's easy to capture. ~ Psylocke 09:53, 24 September 2012 (GMT)
Yeah, I decided that it could be 'anywhere' and the expression on Roots' face called out for that caption. In any case, I'll launch the article - and cross my fingers that you can take a pretty image of that weird Argonian on the docks some day. Again, thanks for making the page look so good! --Krusty (talk) 09:58, 24 September 2012 (GMT)

Stray Dog Move[edit]

I feel the note I wrote is valid to the article Stray Dog as you may not be able to obtain one after A Daedra's Best Friend. Perhaps if I had worded it differently and made the same note on Barbas's page it would have been more relevant. I did not undo your change but would like to contest it.--FubarFrank (talk) 15:23, 3 October 2012 (GMT)

There are other dog followers, not just stray dogs. If that note is added to stray dog, it has to be added to the others too, such as Vigilance and Meeko, for consistency, and also to the many Dawnguard animal followers for consistency. So, no, it should just remain on Barbas' page. ~ Psylocke 15:31, 3 October 2012 (GMT)
Perhaps it would be better to keep the note on the Barbas page and also add it to this section of the followers page, since that's where all creatures who can be followers are listed (and the bug would affect all creature followers, not just the Stray Dog). — ABCface 15:33, 3 October 2012 (GMT)
Yeap I agree, that would be a much better idea, instead of replicating the info on the stray dog article and the others. ~ Psylocke 15:37, 3 October 2012 (GMT)
I agree to a point. I brought it up because if a person comes to the wiki to find out why they cannot recruit stray dog, they will search for that page, not Barbas's or the followers page. We cannot assume that every user on the wiki, A. Knows about Barbas or other animal followers or B. Knows how to use the wiki to find the information that they need. I still say that it is relevant, even if the time should be taken to replicate the same information on multiple pages for consistency.--FubarFrank (talk) 16:01, 3 October 2012 (GMT)
While I can understand your concern, doing it that way would go against the style guide. The Stray Dog page (as well as all other creature follower pages) already includes a link to the creatures section of the follower page. If a user is looking for information related to using a certain creature as a follower, and doesn't think to follow the appropriate links, they can ask about it on the talk page, and someone can direct them there. Replicating the same information on that many pages isn't practical. — ABCface 16:11, 3 October 2012 (GMT)

() I understand now, I did not realize that doing so would go against the style guide. I appreciate the clarification.--FubarFrank (talk) 16:18, 3 October 2012 (GMT)

It's no big deal, I've updated the followers page to reflect the bug. This way it's only replicated once, as opposed to several times. — ABCface 16:20, 3 October 2012 (GMT)

Engar[edit]

Hi. I don't understand your recent edits of Skyrim:Engar.

Yes, there are two people called Engar. The "nord warrior" (the stormcloak soldier referenced on Galmars page) and the carriage driver. But I find the current approach confusing. Doesn't uesp conform to the "one character one page" approach?

Also, you wrote "Undo revision 1032728 by CapnZapp (talk) See prod edit summary". What is this "prod edit" and where do I find its summary? Thx, CapnZapp (talk) 13:43, 6 October 2012 (GMT)

Firstly, there is only one NPC in the entire game named Engar, which is the carriage driver. Secondly, this "Engar" on Galmar's page only appears in dialogue and only mentioned once in the entire game; the name is just used by Galmar to refer to an unnamed Stormcloak soldier. Thirdly, he doesn't need his own page as CSList doesn't document him as an actual NPC with unique IDs or whatever info for an NPC summary. Similarly with Gretta, who is also only mentioned once in the same dialogue, whom you created a page for. I have marked that page for deletion as it is completely unnecessary. ~ Psylocke 14:28, 6 October 2012 (GMT)
There was a note placed on the NPCs page for someone who was mentioned in dialogue by the Guard in Dragon Rising. I can't remember who this was, or any other details, but that would be the example style of what is done for these NPCs. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 14:54, 6 October 2012 (GMT)
Her name is Hroki, and now that you brought it up, I guess it warrants a small note, although I still think it's not really notable in the game. I'll add a note on Engar's page, similar to Hroki's. However, "Gretta" still doesn't deserve a page though, similar to "Tor" who is mentioned along with Hroki. ~ Psylocke 15:28, 6 October 2012 (GMT)
Sorry, but how can Engar be worth a mention but not Gretta? And where does it say that only some NPCs are to be documented on the wiki - I'm thinking a user might search for Gretta as well as any other Skyrim character, expecting the best write-up possible. Being mentioned twice or more often surely can't be a criteria for inclusion!? And the fact Gretta is represented as a nameless/generic NPC in the game can't be a reason to drop her either; there are several other NPCs which (for various reasons) actually go unnamed and still merit a page of their own. And finally, Psylocke, you still haven't answered my question about "prod edit". Regards, CapnZapp (talk) 18:15, 6 October 2012 (GMT)
Need I reiterate again that Gretta isn't an actual NPC according to game data? The small note about Stormcloak Engar was fine as there is an actual NPC named Engar already. But creating a page for an insignificant unnamed NPC, whose name only appears in dialogue, and redirecting it to Galmar is unnecessary. Also, I'm quite sure that these several other unnamed NPCs that you are referring to which have articles of their own are actual NPCs with raw data obtainable from CSList; they can't be compared to this "Gretta", which is merely used as a reference to a Stormcloak soldier.
Also, about that "prod" you're asking, that's actually not important really. I prod tagged the Gretta page and undid your revision for Engar at the same time. I wrote an edit summary for the prod, and simply wrote "see prod edit summary" for the undo. ~ Psylocke 18:46, 6 October 2012 (GMT)

() Could just redirect the Gretta page to the Stormcloak Soldier page and put a note on there. CapnZapp, the all we know about these people is their names. Everything about them is documented in the Stormcloak Soldier page except their names. You said that "there are several other NPCs which (for various reasons) actually go unnamed and still merit a page of their own"--I assume you mean like Nord? Stormcloak Soldier does that job. Irkngthand[edit]

Thanks for all the images, and a good rescue of the one I prodded :) If you still have the saves, can you check the pad in the Statues hand for any writing, it just came to me that there could be something written on it, maybe on the underside. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 14:05, 7 October 2012 (GMT)

Hmm... I just checked, but nothing turned up. There are just cracks all around, both on the clean version and on the blood-splattered one. No markings, Falmer alphabet or anything, even on the underside. And you're welcome :) ~ Psylocke 14:22, 7 October 2012 (GMT)

Thanks![edit]

You have been given a gold star!

Okay, seriously, you rock at fulfilling image requests! Our pages are much prettier thanks to you :). Keep up the great work! eshetalk 13:57, 9 October 2012 (GMT)

You're welcome Eshe! Snapping images is fun! And wow... my first star. I'm going to use this to decorate my new player-built house :) ~ Psylocke 15:16, 9 October 2012 (GMT)

Editing Talk Pages: Not OK Except When It's OK[edit]

Hi Psylocke. I've noticed some of your work around the wiki, but never interacted with you. I just noticed your edit summary here, and wanted to say that the policy against editing others' writing on talk pages is an "in general" guideline, and does have some exceptions. The most pertinent sentence on the topic, here, is somewhat tangled and ambiguous, but I think you can unapologetically make the type of fix that you did! --JR (talk) 15:30, 15 October 2012 (GMT)

Yeap, I guess the fix I made is fine (and necessary!), and hence my edit summary here :) ~ Psylocke 15:42, 15 October 2012 (GMT)
I did the same thing on the SR:Dragon nomination—I guess we ladies have some pronoun issues, lol ;). eshetalk 15:45, 15 October 2012 (GMT)
Psylocke, yeah. And you just taught me how to show the actual summary. I had forgotten. Eshe: Yes, the language is stacked against you guys! XD --JR (talk) 01:42, 16 October 2012 (GMT)

Summary[edit]

Sorry to bother you but how did you get the Summary (the black thing on your user page up the top that has info) to the right of the top. Because I am doing my own and I am really confused. If you could get back to me soon that would be great. Chezburgar (talk) 06:49, 20 October 2012 (GMT)

I used the following code to start my summary table:
{|class="wikitable" notrail=no width="33%" style="margin-right:0;margin-top:0;margin-left:1em;background-color:#FFDDFF;float:right;text-align:left;"
|- bgcolor={{Race Color|Fabricants}}
|colspan=4 style="text-align:center"|{{FC|{{Race Color FC|Fabricants}}|<big>'''Psylocke'''</big><br>}}
This will turn out to be the black section on the top of the table in my userpage. ~ Psylocke 07:02, 20 October 2012 (GMT)
Thankyou this helped so much! - Chezburgar (talk) 07:12, 20 October 2012 (GMT)
Fancy lookin' Display title, Psylocke ;) Looks cooler than mine haha. :) Eric Snowmane(talkemail) 07:19, 20 October 2012 (GMT)
Heee :3 I saw what you did with your own page a few days ago, and decided to erm... err emulate that idea. Tweaked my display titles such that it matches my sig :) ~ Psylocke 07:37, 20 October 2012 (GMT)
"Emulation" is awesome. The old blue and green page design was a direct rip from Eshe, who bummed it from Wikipedia. All I did was recolor it :p Eric Snowmane(talkemail) 08:19, 20 October 2012 (GMT)
Hi again I just wanted to know how you minimised or hid your HUD when you were taking screenshots.Because I am trying to take them now but I dont know how to get rid of the HUD. - Chezburgar (talk) 19:51, 21 October 2012 (GMT)

() Hi. It's very easy to hide your HUD. As for me, I simply go to the menu, and then select SETTINGS, followed by Display, and finally change your HUD Opacity to 0 (push the slider all the way to the left). You can also use the console command tm. You might also want to check out these tips. Hope this helps! ~ Psylocke 01:27, 22 October 2012 (GMT)

Thanks it really helps but I figured out that I can't take screenshots on the PS3 (the background is blurred but foreground is fine from ps3 screenshots). Althought there is a way. If you want to see the only screenshot that was OK, head to my page (the screenshot is me in daedric armour (top one)). - Chezburgar (talk) 08:52, 22 October 2012 (GMT)
Sorry to bother you once again, but is my constant contributions annoying you? (because I might have spelling mistakes or things might not be relevant etc)if they are annoying you i will try and cut down on the contributions I contribute. Also could you tell me if this is ok? Oblivion:Fort Irony i did the whole part in zone 1 before occupants. I hope it's ok, i spent over 1 hr doing it. - Chezburgar (talk) 10:05, 23 October 2012 (GMT)
Hi again. Your questions aren't annoying me at all. However, while I'm more than happy to answer your questions, I'm afraid I can't help you there. I don't have Oblivion and have never played it before; in fact, I've never played any TES games except Skyrim. I'm sorry, but I don't know anything regarding those games content-wise. Maybe you can ask one of the patrollers for help. ~ Psylocke 13:13, 23 October 2012 (GMT)

Imperial Quests[edit]

Hi. I see that my language here is a bit clumsy. But I was trying to include the fact that Seasons Unending is only sometimes initiated in the Main Questline. Maybe it's not important. Do you have any other ideas? Also, you have a little typo in your revision: Quests ... is->are .... I will also try to think about a way to say it more simply and clearly, but I don't have an immediate solution. --JR (talk) 09:45, 21 October 2012 (GMT)

Hmm.. I don't really have any ideas. My edit there was to simply bring the subject of the sentence (the quests under Reunification of Skyrim) to the front. If you have any idea to add on to it, by all means :) And I'll go correct that minor mistake of mine xD ~ Psylocke 09:58, 21 October 2012 (GMT)
Wow. I just took some time to notice how funny and interesting your user page looks. Very nice!
Hmm... Your word choice ("bringing the subject of a sentence to the front") sounds just like some of the terms I use when thinking about writing style. I guess that you have some experience with advanced and modern writing concepts. Have you read Style: Toward Clarity and Grace by Williams?
But are you saying that "the quests under Reunification of Skyrim" must be the subject of the sentence for some reason? If so, I don't understand why. We can sometimes choose the subject of a sentence. (The subject of a sentence can sometimes be chosen by us. Varying a sentence's subject is a stylistic tool which can serve to, for example, lend greater emphasis to different elements of the sentence.) Is that not correct? Your latest effort looks good, but Seasons Unending is special among the Main quests because it is optional: It is only initiated under certain conditions. Your latest idea does not contain that information. Maybe we don't need to point that out, but somehow I feel that we should. This leaves me thinking that one solution is to go back to my original sentence, or something close to it, and another is to break it down into more than one sentence, since I think we actually may want to convey quite a bit of information here.
See what you think of my latest attempt. I still haven't seen (or written) anything that strikes me as perfect here. --JR (talk) 14:59, 21 October 2012 (GMT)
Wow, that's quite a lot of explanation for a little thing :D. Simply explaining in your edit summary is sufficient I think xD. Your latest revision looks fine. And like I said earlier, if you have a better idea, by all means add it to the article to improve it. Cheers :) ~ Psylocke 15:12, 21 October 2012 (GMT)

Quest Rewards[edit]

Hi Psylocke. I noticed you've changed the way I'd done the various rewards on some quests for consistency, and you're absolutely right to do so. I'm just wondering if the floating tables might be a better choice in the end, just from the perspective of taking up less space. I do have a concern, though, that that might look awkward on some pages. I thought I'd approach you to see what your thoughts were on the matter, just in case you're changing them solely for consistency's sake. I'd prefer consistency over everything else, whichever style we use, I just don't like the style we've been using all that much since it leads to this small section that really stands out, since it's only a single sentence and a table in most cases. Anyway, I'm rambling at this point, I think...thoughts? Robin Hoodtalk 19:53, 24 October 2012 (GMT)

Hey there RH. Well, it might just be me, but I think placing those tables at a separate section makes the article neater; having the reward table at the top right looks weird to me. Oh, and also, if you do a search with "srleveledreward" to find the pages with the tables, pretty much all of them have a separate section for the reward, e.g. all the DB contracts (Kill "NPC name") and others as well. And also, their walkthroughs aren't that long either. ~ Psylocke 01:40, 25 October 2012 (GMT)
Okay, I can go with that. :) I created a lot of the DB rewards sections after creating the template, so it kind of became the de facto standard, but I was never sure I liked it. If someone likes it, though, then I'm content to leave it in that format. :) Besides, if there is some desire to change it later on, as you point out, it's not exactly hard to track them all down. Thanks for the feedback! Robin Hoodtalk 02:50, 25 October 2012 (GMT)
