Lore Alchemy[edit]

Hey, I just wrote a description for Vampire Dust, and I'm wondering if that's kind of what you were going for. Is it a little too-game-specific? It's written around the assumption that the differences in effects are because of the variations in environment, when in all actuality it's probably just to balance the game. Is that okay? Or would you (or anyone else for that matter) prefer a more generalized description? • JATalk 03:29, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

It does seem a trifle speculative, but I don't have too much of a problem with it, though one thing that is incorrect there is that you can't actually contract Vampirism from Vampire Dust in Morrowind. That effect is pretty much useless there. In Morrowind, only the first effect can be experienced from eating an ingredient raw, and others only occur if mixed with another ingredient with the same effect - and there are no other ingredients with the Vampirism effect. So barring mods adding such ingredients, it is impossible to actually contract Vampirism in this way. --TheRealLurlock Talk 03:34, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
Okay, I didn't know that, because I've never played Morrowind. Thanks for pointing that out. I'm going to dial back the speculation a few notches. • JATalk 03:44, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

Total weight of the Daedric Armor in Morrowind[edit]

You're right, I thought that was the total of the ENTIRE armor =) but I was wrong anyway, because I hadn't counted both pauldrons and gauntlets. But why there is the total just about the armor you can wear, without any explanation? Using the logic, the total is about all armor pieces you see there, isn't?

The point is so that you know just how encumbered you'll be if you want to wear a full set. Why would you care how heavy a whole set was if you weren't actually going to wear it but just leave it lying around somewhere? --TheRealLurlock Talk 02:30, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
Well, for my part, I collect all the weapons and armors XD but probably is better what you say. However, I think that an explanation is necessary, maybe in each page where is the total. Otherwise, a generic "total" refers to all pieces in the list, in my opinion. What do you think about it? -- Giant Lizard 10:53, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
But do you carry you collections around with you all the time? I'm guessing no, especially given how heavy this one is. So the only one whose weight you care about is the set you're wearing. I don't think many people are confused by what that value means, because the weight of all items is irrelevant if you're not carrying them around all the time. Maybe a note could be placed in hover-form or something, but I don't see the point of adding a text note to every page explaining what should be fairly obvious. --TheRealLurlock Talk 13:07, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
Of course I don't carry with me all armors and weapons, but I need to know the exactly weight for choose the correct containers for them. Anyway, for me is not obvious what "totals" means now, but this is just my opinion. I'm not an admin and if you have decided so, I accept it =) I'll continue to do what I've always done: small fix if I find an error, or add a note/bug/link. Thanks for your help. --Giant Lizard 18:54, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
