Welcome[edit]

Hello WoahBro! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:

If you would like to spice up your userpage, click here for a list of userboxes you can use, including a guide to making your own.

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! —Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 21:12, 10 November 2012 (GMT)

Sinsibadon[edit]

Simply put, what are you doing? The NPC data template is used for exaclty the reason you are undoing. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 19:33, 24 April 2013 (GMT)

There was an NPC (J'Jarsha) on the table that was messed up, as in none of their information was present. I went through the history to find if there was any point in time that this NPC was correct. After finding the edit after it was messed up, I was undoing the edits and I second guessed myself on what I was doing (hence the multiple undoings). After I fixed this, all I did was add colored texts to the table and it is almost identical to the table prior to any editing. The only difference is the sizing of the table which is not all that noticeable. --WoahBro (talk) 19:41, 24 April 2013 (GMT)
I looked through it too, and all it needed was a purge on the redirect for J'Jarsha. This is a common problem with the redirects and the NPC Data template after an edit has been made to that redirect. While this is a hidden issue, reverting to an older unused style was not the correct action, there are reasons why templates exist, and reasons why they do not work. Bringing something like this to the attention of someone more experienced on the wiki (no offense), makes this a non issue. Instead of making five edits, each of which needed checked, one edit on the talk page would have led to the fix. It was only after I had reverted the changes that I was able to see the problem. Images[edit]

Heya WoahBro! Just inquiring as to the recent images you've uploaded and provided towards numerous pages as per the Oblivion Houses Redesign Project -- I notice some are very rough around numerous edges within some of the shots and was wondering if you've got your graphics capacity at max? On another note as well, perhaps taking a look at the Help:Images page might give some insight also. Not that there's anything wrong with the images you're providing, it's just I noticed a considerable difference in quality overall when comparing this image here against another image from a separate house (granted by another user on the wiki). Regardless I want to take the time to thank you for all your effort so far, and if you're hesitant on anything related to the project, feel free to hit me up on my talk page! -helenaanne  talk ♥ 06:08, 9 May 2013 (GMT)

Hey WoahBro. I noticed you've been lightening some images (such as this one). It can give the image a washed-out quality. It might be better to upload the unedited shot. —Legoless (talk) 16:11, 9 May 2013 (GMT)
I do not believe that my graphics are to the max as it makes my game unbearably laggy, although it could be worth a shot. I've tried uploading unlightened images, and believe me, they are way to dark, unless somebody else can take them and brighten them without washing them out. Regardless, part of the reason why I've been uploading these pictures so that the pages have at least something and they can easily be upgraded. It feels good to be contributing and it gives me something to do with summer fast approaching!--WoahBro (talk) 17:19, 9 May 2013 (GMT)

Template info[edit]

Just a friendly note. The place summary template automatically adds the word "is" to the sentence after "description", so you don't need to (e.g. Jearl's House). I cleaned up a couple of them, but could you fix any others you may have done, please? It's not a big deal, but needs to be fixed. Thanks. --Xyzzy Talk 03:36, 1 June 2013 (GMT)

Crap, I realized this awhile ago when working on house pages and then forgot when I started working today. Sorry!--WoahBro (talk) 03:39, 1 June 2013 (GMT)
LOL. No big deal. Happens to everyone. Nice job on the images, BTW. Very nice quality. --Xyzzy Talk 03:58, 1 June 2013 (GMT)
If you look at some of my first images, that compliment means a lot!!--WoahBro (talk) 03:59, 1 June 2013 (GMT)
Yikes! You're not kidding :) Big improvement on the recent ones, though. --Xyzzy Talk 04:04, 1 June 2013 (GMT)

Verification template[edit]

I saw that you wanted to add a verification tag to SR:Enthir but couldn't figure out how to do it. The code for verification tags is here (for bugs) and here (for everything else). Believe me, I've forgotten this code or the page a million times. --A----N----I----L (talk) 14:56, 14 June 2013 (GMT)

Also, using {{vn}} is shorter/faster/easier than actually using the full {{verification needed}}. It works the same, so feel free to use that instead. — ABCface 00:55, 15 June 2013 (GMT)

Skyrim Houses Project?[edit]

Hey WoahBro! I recently joined the Skyrim Houses Redesign Project and went and looked at the pages still needing cleanup. The first one was an abandoned house in Raven Rock, but as far as I can tell it meets the standards as laid out by the project. The only reason I could think that it wasn't in the checking category is because the writer of the description didn't add his/her name in the tags to get it moved -- When I looked at the history, I saw you wrote it. With your permission, I'll add your name to the tags to get it moved. For future reference, however, if you do contribute further to the project, please remember to add your name here when you're finished so the page is moved to the appropriate category.
Thank you for contributing! Scum (talk) 15:47, 30 June 2013 (GMT)

Hey there Scum, I wrote that "walkthrough" (I say "walkthrough" because it wasn't very thorough) when I was just getting involved in UESP projects, I happen to be in Raven Rock right now so I'll re-do it so it is much more thorough. Then I'll add my name to the checklist. *WoahBro►talk 15:56, 30 June 2013 (GMT)
Thanks a lot, man. Scum (talk) 16:09, 30 June 2013 (GMT)

The first edition of the Resdayn Record is out now! The Resdayn Record is the Morrowind Overhaul Project's quarterly newsletter! You can read the newsletter here. If you wish to opt-out of this newsletter, please post a message on my talk page. Thanks for participating in MWOP this quarter!!! Jeancey (talk) 18:48, 13 July 2013 (GMT)

Speedy deletion[edit]

Please be careful about marking pages for speedy deletion. We typically only use the speedy deletion template on userpages for spambots. I think in this case a user just wanted to leave a message for another user. I removed the template and signed the message, so we're all good now. Thanks! ThuumofReason (talk) 12:30, 5 September 2013 (GMT)

Actually, speedy deletion is appropriate here. See the Deletion Policy page. An IP starting a talk page for another IP with a single "Hi" falls under "Nonsense pages that contain no meaningful content." to me ~ Dwarfmp (talk) 14:01, 5 September 2013 (GMT)
Be that as it may, you always want to be careful about what you label "nonsense". It's true that it wasn't exactly a treasure trove of insight, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a good faith edit. A test edit, maybe, in which case it would fall under the criteria for speedy deletion, but "nonsense" seems a bit strong. The deletion policy also says that if there's any doubt as to whether a criterion is met, it's better to use one of the other processes. The matter seems to have been taken care of, so I just say this for future reference. ThuumofReason (talk) 23:09, 12 September 2013 (GMT)

Dark Brotherhood in the Interregnum[edit]

You deleted my revision in the Interregnum lore page. The Dark Brotherhood is responsible for the murder of the last Potentate, not the Morag Tong. To quote straight from the reference source used-- "Not long after Alimahera's journal entry came perhaps the most famous series of executions in the history of the Dark Brotherhood. The Colovian Emperor-Potentate Savirien-Chorak and every one of his heirs were murdered on one bloody night in Sun's Dawn in 430." It says right there the Dark Brotherhood assassinated Savirien-Chorak AND his heirs. The Morag Tong is responsible for Reman III and Versidue-Shaie, not Saverien-Chorak. It needs to be changed. 71.171.112.74 17:17, 16 October 2013 (GMT)

You are of course correct, Anon. I have have restored the edit. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 17:45, 16 October 2013 (GMT)
Hm, must've read the wrong part. Carry on as usual, nothing to see here. •WoahBro►talk 21:36, 16 October 2013 (GMT)

Forum-like posts[edit]

There's really not a need to remove old posts like this. I think forum-like psots just happen and then get left alone, and if nobody comments on them, they don't really make problems. So it's almost useless to go back and remove old forum-like posts because the conversations rarely get resurrected. Not that it's particularly wrong to remove them, that's just why they end up staying on pages for months or years. (Answering your edit summary question.)

I would also not call that edit forum-like, personally. It's a way to manipulate the game via console to play through conflicting questlines, so while it doesn't belong on the article, it doesn't hurt the talk page and is probably quite useful for some people who are unfamiliar with how the console works. It's not a discussion like "man, why didn't they make these quests both possible, that would be epic!" It's more of a response to the unspoken question "I want to do both questlines, but how can I make that happen?" It's a cheat, sure, but it doesn't hurt, and the DB quests are popular anyway.
