Kalimbria

Kalimbria, a Breton elemental mage, is a member of the College of Whispers who is working to turn Frostcrag Spire into an official Cynosure.

After waking up at 7am, Kalimbria eats a quick breakfast and from 8am will be found practicing spells on the ground floor. From 1pm, she will be found busying herself around the main hall, breaking off for dinner at 6pm. After relaxing in her quarters for the rest of the evening, she heads to bed at midnight.

Kalimbria wears a College of Whispers robes, farmer's gloves and mage boots, and carries a leveled amount of gold. As well as being armed with an steel dagger, Kalimbria is able to cast the spells Conjure Scamp, Ebonyflesh, Fast Healing, Frost Cloak, Frost Flames, Ice Spike and Summon Zombie.

She will cheerfully greet you: "Yes? What is it?", "Good day, how can I be of assistance?", "By the Eight, it's freezing up here! Once our business here is concluded, I'm going to request relocation." or "You wouldn't happen to know how to recalibrate ancient Atherial-Magnification Oculi, would you? No, I suppose you wouldn't."

If you ask her what this place is, she will be surprised: "This? This is Frostcrag Spire? Didn't you know about it? It's rather hard to miss, I would say! Ah, well, I have to wonder... what are you thinking, standing here, in one of the most famous magical locations in all of Cyrodiil?" If you say it's awe-inspiring, she agrees: "My thoughts exactly! Adventures like these are why I joined the College. You don't get to experience the sights the College offers you with guilds like the Synod, and being an independent mage is just so... lonely." If you stay reserved she says: "I for one just have to wake up, step outside, take a deep breath, and I can practically feel the ancient magics coursing through my veins!"

Inquiring about when they arrived nets you: "We've all been here since the minds over in our headquarters in Water's Edge decided so. I guess they've decided Frostcrag Spire was of enough magical significance to be claimed as a semi-official cynosure. If you mean how long have I been here, well, before this, I was a member of one of our oldest and most respected cynosures, the Drakelowe cynosure. Unfortunately, there isn't much left of the place now for me to be a member anymore, so I came out here, to the frontier! Well, a frontier of sorts."

If you ask what a cynosure is she explains: "A cynosure is the term the College of Whispers use when referring to our halls, or bases of operation. Don't worry, I used to get the College of Whisper's cynosure and the Synod's conclave confused all the time, too, when I first joined up." If pressed on Drakelowe, she demurs: "It was... well, actually, I'd better not say. That is likely considered classified by the College of Whispers headquarters in the Water's Edge cynosure. Being so far away from them, we have to know when to hold our own tongues when it comes to dangerous knowledge like that, you see."

If you wonder whether she's found anything of interest, she replies: "Oh, plenty! This tower has been sealed for almost one-hundred and fifty years, so everything is still fresh. Can't you feel the old magics? I'm sorry, but, I can't let you in on the specifics of my findings. Our guild prides itself on its ability to keep dangerous knowledge safely away from the common man."

After meeting Astor Astentius you can ask her if he's okay, to which she'll initially reply: "What do you mean by okay?" She will then give one of the following three replies depending on your choice:

Mistaken for someone else: "It's sad really, he doesn't even remember my name all the time. I'm not quite sure who Karland is, he may not even be real."
Seems a bit off: "I wouldn't doubt it. The man is a genius in his own right. I would've loved to have known him a few years back, but ever since his expedition to Hammerfell..."
Years catching up with him: "It's sad to say it but I agree with you. Astor use to be one of our most respected Masters of the College, but now look at him."

Before concluding: "So far he's still been able to contribute, but I'm not sure how long that will last. The other Masters or the Archmage, Tiberius Rindellian, might soon force him to retire."

Conversations[edit]

While in Frostcrag Spire, you may overhear the following conversation between Kalimbria and Astor:

Astor: "Oh, Kalimbria dear, there you are! I've been looking for you."
Kalimbria: "Wow, Astor, I'm impressed. You remembered my name this time!"
Astor: "What are you talking about? How could I possibly forget something as simple as your name? I wanted to ask if you had finished examining the balcony portals yet, like I asked you to."
Kalimbria: "Yes, in fact I did it just yesterday. Why?"
Astor: "Well, if we are ever going to use the things, it would be quite helpful to know whether or not they'll be tearing us apart in the process!"
Kalimbria: "Astor, you told me last week that none of those portal enchantments are active anymore, that you've tried yourself many times."
Astor: "Huh, well... I'm sure at the time I wasn't thinking clearly... must have had things on my mind. We'll examine them together tomorrow, then."
Kalimbria: "If you say so, Astor."
