Unnecessary Page?[edit]

Hmm...it seems you find a lot of strange things by trying to categorize things! Anyway, it looks like we have two pages for the same thing: Bloodmoon:Udyrfrykte (article) and Bloodmoon:The Udyrfrykte (redirect to Bloodmoon:Creatures). It seems to me that one of these should link/redirect to the other, but I'm not sure which method is preferable here. Any thoughts? --Eshetalk00:54, 2 January 2008 (EST)

I originally created this page because I could not find any other; of course I didn't think of looking in Bloodmoon:Creatures. The question is maybe if the information included here, e.g. origin of the name, would look messy in Bloodmoon:Creatures. --MiSP 09:07, 7 January 2008 (EST)
Good to hear from you again, MiSP :) We have been working on creating pages for unique creatures; I think the Udyrfrykte qualifies as a creature that should have its own page, not just a redirect. However, its name is officially "The Udyrfrykte" rather than "Udyrfrykte" so Bloodmoon:The Udyrfrykte would be the most appropriate page for the article; a redirect at Bloodmoon:Udyrfrykte is perhaps redundant, but one will be created anyway, so we might as well leave it there ;) I'll go ahead and take a first stab at reorganizing everything, although I'm not sure I'll be able to fully flesh out the new article. --NepheleTalk 19:18, 7 January 2008 (EST)
Sounds like a good plan. =) --MiSP 16:46, 9 January 2008 (EST)

May be?[edit]

Is there the slightest reasonable doubt that it could not be Grendel? There's no source needed other than simple common sense. And I hate these wiki signature thingies. Always forget them or screw them up. Grrrr. --Gez 17:38, 9 January 2008 (EST)

Probably not, but you should only state that the Udyrfrykte is based on Grendel if you have concrete (and citable) evidence to this effect - in other words, until somebody from Bethesda states on record that the Udyrfrykte is based on Grendel, it's appropriate to leave it at 'may be a reference to'. --Gaebrial 03:02, 10 January 2008 (EST)
By that token, practically all the easter eggs should be put to the conditional... If there was in the game reference to a character who founded a religion, died on a cross, resurrected three days later, and whose disciples are called apostles; would you say that it is maybe a reference to Jesus Christ? I don't think you'll find anybody from Bethesda stating that this quest was indeed a reference to Indiana Jones, for example. This kind of overly cautious "may be" just gives me the urge to retort "well, duh!" every time. --Gez 06:43, 10 January 2008 (EST)
That's wiki for ya! =) I've never heard of Grendel, so it's not a matter of course for my part. I've learned to never state anything as absolute truths, unless they really are, like 2 + 2 = 4 (in base 10). For science, that would be everything defined as true at the moment since after all, let's face it, long ago it was a truth that the world was flat. --MiSP 02:48, 12 January 2008 (EST)
It IS flat. Scientism is not science. 254.212.9.229 12:45, 14 November 2022 (UTC)

Erm...?[edit]

Uhhhhh...should it be stated somewhere on the page how to actually kill the Udyrfrykte? I mean, it's resistant to everything! Did I miss something? Oh, and can you punch it to death? I can't check myself, I don't have Bloodmoon (but my friend does, I'm going to use a console command to make the Udyrfrykte attack him, LOL! Don't worry, he's got 10,000 health and a full set of Daedric from console commands. He'll be OK!). Zander 04:34, 27 May 2008 (EDT)

You get a sword that bypasses weapon resistances and you hit the creature with it a lot. It's not tricky. And yes, you can use your fists because they are not treated as a normal weapon. –RpehTCE 05:09, 27 May 2008 (EDT)

Weapon?[edit]

As it says 5-50 damage plus weapon, can you actually use the severed arm as a weapon? The Bry Talk! 17:43, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

  • Yes if you kill the Udyrfrykte you can claim the severed nord leg as a prize. It is not a particularly powerful weapon but it goes great as a collectable on the mantal piece.--Zar Pof 04:16, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
