Daggerfall Unity: Backstabbing[edit]

Backstabbing is one of the skills in Daggerfall Unity. It has both passive and active benefits in combat.

When the player character is behind an enemy and attacks, a roll is made between 1 and 100. If the Backstabbing skill is higher than the roll, the attack's damage is multiplied by 3.

Regardless of whether the skill is successful, the Backstabbing skill will always apply a bonus in the to-hit formula of (1x Backstabbing skill) when attacking an enemy's back. Therefore, in the to-hit calculation, if a player has 25 Backstabbing and attacks an enemy from behind, the attack will receive a bonus of +25 in the to-hit formula, even if it doesn't beat the above 1-100 roll.
