A framed print from Cook and Becker

An official Elder Scrolls Online collection is available at Cook and Becker, a website that sells officially licensed prints of video game concept art. The Cook and Becker Elder Scrolls Online Print Collection can be found here on CookandBecker.com.

Below is a list of works available from the Elder Scrolls Online collection at Cook and Becker, including the piece's listing name, a short description, and an image of the work being put to print.

Pricing[edit]

Art from Cook and Becker tends to be on the pricier side because of the quality of their products. Most pieces run from between $120 USD to $1,000 USD, depending entirely upon the work selected and additional options selected while choosing an item for purchase. Those who intend on purchasing unframed works with not a whole lot of added embellishment or finery don't need to worry about breaking $300 USD. Here's a brief breakdown on the pricing and the factors that affect it:

  • Some works have multiple size options available; larger sizes cost about $50 USD more than smaller prints.
  • Each product is a limited run, and the works in the Elder Scrolls Online collection come with a hand-numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
  • Unframed prints are the cheapest, with prices below the $200 USD mark (before taxes and shipping fees are applied).
  • Framed works ship ready to hang and are usually about $250 USD more expensive than unframed works. The frames delivered with framed prints are custom made by professional framers. The way these works are framed makes it so the print doesn't rest on the glass surface and that numbers and signatures on numbered and signed works are visible from the front. The framed work is protected by acrylic glass, which is shatter-proof, does not yellow with age, and is lighter and more transparent than regular glass.
  • Fine Art Prints on Metal are around the same price range as framed works on paper.
  • The most expensive option is Acrylic glass and Diasec on Dibond, which is around $350 USD more than unframed prints and is delivered ready to hang with a frame on the back. These works have museum-grade UV protection and an acrylic glass finish. The high price can be attributed to the process used to make these prints and their quality. A finished print is glued to an aluminum panel (called Dibond), for backing, then the acrylic glass is mounted on the front with a transparent gel called Diasec. In a framed work, the glass is mounted in the frame; in Diasec prints, the glass is part of the print.

Quality[edit]

According to their About page, Cook and Becker works closely with the artists whose work is sold on their site to produce their art at museum-grade levels. The company's goal is to offer collectors art and memorabilia that lasts a long time and maintains its value.

Cook and Becker uses giclee printing for their digital art prints. A detailed rundown can be read on the company's FAQ, but the long and short of it is this: Giclee printing is a fairly new technique used for prints of digital art. Cook and Becker's prints are done on Radiant White paper or Hahnemühle Photo Rag Bright White paper: 100% cotton archival papers that provide an ideal environment for housing the color of digital works as vibrantly as possible. Giclee prints can last anywhere between 50 and 300 years (depending on the level of exposure to UV the physical work experiences during its lifetime and the materials used during printing) due to the properties and quality of the ink used during printing and the quality of the paper.
