Quest-Related Events

After you locate Valentyn Dantaine on the behalf of Marcelle, he will have you find keys hidden across Amenos for the Systres Sisters Vault. However, once you get inside the vault, you will be ambushed by smoke bombs and black out:

Mercenary Captain Rood: "Put them to sleep and throw them in the cage. Remember, the boss said not to hurt them."

You will wake up in a makeshift prison and Marcelle will reveal herself to be a traitor and will take the treasure for herself.
