Move Suggestion: Online:Collectible Furnishings/Mounts to Online:Mounts Furnishings[edit]

All of the mounts furnishings pages lead to dead links, and I'm stuck when it comes to categorization as they're a template outlier. The suggested change is based on the structures of other pages; for sake of example, I'm referencing Online:Structures Furnishings for the fix. I'd also like Mounts added to the Template:Online Furnishings proper (underneath miscellaneous; it definitely has enough categories to warrant this). As these are big changes, I'd rather not do them myself without approval.

Looking at Online:Structures Furnishings, it has a cat link of Category:Online-Items-Furnishings, which is fairly standard. Clicking into an option then makes Category:Online-Items-Furnishings-Structures Furnishings, which is wordy, but allows direct links to each side category. Clicking into an item and clicking the "Structures" button then brings you to that initial Structures Furnishings page.

Unfortunately, converting this page to the style would make it hard to see all the mount furnishings at once, but there are many broken links to images, it uses a lot of unnecessary code, and a user would be more likely to check out Online:Mounts to see how they look, rather than this page. It makes sense to make it style-consistent, since they were personally removed from the Online:Collectible Furnishings page years ago (alongside others, which I mention below).

Currently, Mounts are a subpage of Online:Collectible Furnishings, and Category:Online-Items-Furnishings-Collectible Furnishings only links to three things: Mounts, Pets, and Undaunted. Pets are comparatively broken (in regards to on-page category links), but Undaunted isn't as they are under the Gallery/Undaunted Busts subcategories.

Lastly, Mounts and the aforementioned non-combat Pets are the only furnishing types that call from two different locations. I'm currently adding the pages for each mount subcategory, just to put my mind at ease, with the trail of the suggested change hidden.

Thank you so much. I have been trying to get these to sit right for a while as well. I think I got them both done today [Mounts and NC Pets.] I will be fixing all their individual pages this coming week as well Pinksmile.png Erorah (talk) 23:51, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
No problem! I'm glad we could help each other (it was a happy surprise to see you finished with Non-Combat Pets after my Mounts madness, as I was tempted to tackle it next); limiting the amount of red links makes for a happy wiki. — Ingura (talk) 20:09, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
ALSO... I was thinking about having the Mounts and such after Misc as it is on the Housing Editor, however, I believe for now, we are going to keep the first section as Rooms, Then Special, like all the services [Houseguests, and the like]. But even at that, we have a Gallery with all the Busts, et al in the middle of things. Anyway, whatever makes most sense, we can order it that way. Erorah (talk) 21:27, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
Slight off-topic, but having a 'By Limit Type' section (like Special Collectible/etc) on that template would be beneficial were it not for a. the amount of subsections on there already and b. the huge number of items without a listed limit type (see: probably 85+% of the Category:Online-Pages Missing Data page). The work it'd take to relieve that latter issue... phew.
Back on-topic, Mounts is definitely large enough to go under Miscellaneous on the Template. Some of the categories seem really small in comparison, like the aforementioned Miscellaneous, to be on the main Furnishings section, and should be placed under Other if Mounts gets its so-called "promotion".
When you say "keep first section as Rooms then Special", however, do you mean those template sections? The wording's got me a tad confused.

OOH YES! So I am slowly getting all the furnishing types in there. It is a parameter 'usually' picked up by the bot, EXCEPT for Collectibles. This is why they are missing too.
But as for how we list the things, truly we *can* follow the way they are listed in the Housing Editor. It is not determined by size, per se, but at least how things would logically be grouped together. Maybe just following the Editor List is best. Then have all the 'other' things together, like the Lux and Vendors et al. To Do List Pinksmile.png Erorah (talk) 03:42, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
