I missed you on the river bank.
I cried, for all I knew,
Was lost along with all we were,
Dying there with you.

There is so much here that speaks of us,
The waters, grass and wind.
I must leave our precious home,
But your memory always tend.

Holding higher, ‘voices charmed’
The sounds outside our home;
I crept away to hear no more,
In sadness, always roam.

The windows light is all but gone,
As the night road welcomes me.
I leave you love, under stones,
Alone but you are free.

I’ll hold forever, in my grip,
This candle that we've made.
And never yield your oldest fear,
My sorrowed, lasting bade.

Sleep upon the sky tonight,
And look upon my smile,
As I wipe my tears; remember you,
Still loving all the while.
