Quick Walkthrough

1. Speak to Amiro in Akamora's Guild of Fighters.
2. Journey to the Shrine of Hindsight and kill Tedril Draren.
3. Return to Amiro for your reward.

Detailed Walkthrough

Amiro is concerned about reports of a bandit who has been preying on the pilgrims journeying to the Shrine of Hindsight, and wants you to step in to eliminate the individual, who goes by the name of Tedril Draren. He notes, somewhat accurately, that actually finding the Shrine of Hindsight may be the hardest part of this job.

Amiro's directions are as follows:

"Take the road south out of Akamora, not taking any forks. If you see the silt strider, you've on [sic] the wrong way."

"The road will turn southeast by the Teeth of Stone -- two long rock arches with stalagmites under them. You'll see why they're called this way when you pass them. Once you've left the second set of teeth behind you, the road turns left, but you keep going straight southwards, until you get a chance to turn west, which you do. Keep going until Kodasha Egg Mine and further. When you reach a lake, turn left and climb the hill. Then go east."

"You should end up in an isolated vale with some puddles and a cave at the end; one of the nicer sights in this region. A natural stair on the other side of the cave will lead you to the Shrine. Tedril Draren is reported to be hiding somewhere in the cave."

The arch - proceed through this and then strike west to Kodasha Egg Mine and the lake beyond

In practice, this means taking the signposted 'Akamora back road' south out of town. After the second row of 'teeth', the path bends left. Do not follow, but go straight on. The path should take you under a rocky arch (pictured), at which point you turn west and carry on until reaching Kodasha Egg Mine (the mine itself is empty, but for a couple of chests containing valuable items, including a random ebony weapon, hidden within its underground river).

Continue west past the mine to the lake beyond, and on reaching the lakeside, immediately climb the steep grassy slope to the left. You will quickly breast the hill and descend into a gorge, at the end of which is another pool of water. Tedril Draren can be found on the opposite side of the pool, by the stairs leading up to the shrine.

Kill him for his irritating choice of raiding location (and because you're being paid to), rob him of his Glass Shortsword, and return to Amiro in Akamora to report the death.
