Madalvel Ancestral Tomb

Madalvel Ancestral Tomb is the den of a vampire in the Armun Ashlands.

The tomb is not easily found, but to do so you should walk the northern edge of the Armun Ashlands, either eastwards if coming from Volenfaryon or westwards if coming from the road that leads through Arvud. If you keep close to the fringe of hills that mark the border with Roth Roryn, you should find a small campfire and the hostile Dark Elf, Galmas Nerendus. His camp marks the spot from which you should travel directly south to reach the tomb entrance.

If you are three days or less into the quest Lost in Transit, the adventurer Amandin Platier will be waiting outside. His target, the vampire Vrashammu is present within a small side room. An Old Note in the northwestern chamber warns very strongly against taking the emerald next to it. Picking up the emerald triggers the message:

"Your whole body feels like it wants to take control of your brain and run out."

Going 30 seconds after taking this emerald without changing cell will see you teleported to a chamber where an angry Daedroth named Marqureth will attempt to disembowel you. Defeating the Daedroth will return you to the room where you first took the emerald.
