Vantus Mine

Vantus Mine is a large diamond mine north of Firewatch. The guarded entrance is along the road running north of the city.

The mine has seen some heavy mining and many of the diamond veins are already exhausted. There are still several veins containing gems, however, and a large number of mined diamonds can be found loose or in crates. As might be expected, the mine is heavily guarded by the Imperial Legion.

The mine is owned by one of Firewatch's richest individuals, Dothasi Vantus. Her steward, Fila Artoria, organises regular inspections of the mine, and will commission you to retrieve some diamond samples during the quest Miner Problems. However, it seems all is not well at the mine, and Jociel Marnard here will ask for your help in resolving a poisonous miner dispute.
