Good Luck![edit]

Good luck to you Eshe, and an extremely overdo thank you for the welcome while I'm here :). -Dlarsh(Talk,Contribs) 18:48, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Congratulations! Now we just await the first Pulitzer Prize ;) Best of luck to you. –rpehTCE 19:03, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Eshe, Chicago is only 2 hours away... I think I might stalk you! :P Good luck! –Elliot talk 19:28, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
I wish you luck! And now for something you didn't command us to say ( ;) ): I hope you like the job! --Timenn-<talk> 19:41, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Good luck with your new job! Wolok gro-Barok->T->C->E 19:19, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Don't forget to swing by MDT.PA.US so I can tell you all about the good places in which to live in Chicago. I'll also forgo my usual fee of $2.99/min (first three mins, $6.99/min thereafter) for counselling. --Uniblab 01:22, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Good luck! May the Nine guide and protect you! --Mankar CamoranTalk 16:54, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Super-belated thanks, everyone! The job's cool, the coworkers are cool, the apartment's cool...the boss...meh ;). I'm glad I have time to breathe now instead of constantly worrying what I'm gonna do! –Eshetalk 02:00, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Re Lore:Fourth Era[edit]

The reason I did it is because it doesn't belong there, Manimarco could have been defeated at in the Third Era as well, the same with the Stop of the Greymarch and the forming of the Nights of the Nine.GaidenGuy123 01:51, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Ah, I see. That probably makes sense. Thanks for spotting it, but next time be sure to leave an edit summary so the rest of us know what's going on! –Eshetalk 01:55, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

RE: Welcome[edit]

Thank you for the warm welcome! I am fairly new to ES, having just picked up Oblivion late last year, and I have been using this wiki extensively. It is a fantastic resource and I cannot appreciate its content and contributors enough. Conversely, I am a bit of an old hat at this wiki thing though I do appreciate the handy links provided. Ulthripe talk 22:31, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Just kinda tacking my reply to your welcome at the bottom of this one because I don't think it really needs a whole new section. Thanks, man. Although I'm sure your welcoming message was a simple copy/paste job, I appreciate it. I may have been lurking around UESP for quite some time now, but I'm still pretty new to editing wikis. I didn't notice there was an "edit summary" function until after I fixed that broken link and I didn't think fixing a few grammatical errors in the other article really warranted an in-depth summary, but clearly, being the new guy, I'm not the one to judge the worth of a summary. ...and don't worry -- I love the "show preview" button already. Just let me know if I ever step out of line. Cowbox 11:34, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

I'm doing the same as Cowbox. Thank you for the welcome!(despite it being a copy and paste) Sorry about my first edit(assuming you're the one that corrected it), I should've read more of the policies and guidlines and posted it on the talk page instead. Anyways I have no experience whatsoever in editing wikis so sorry if I end up being more of a nuisance then an asset but hopefully I'll get a hang of it quickly. I decided to make an account after getting allot of help browsing the UESP so I can try to contribute to it.Gameiac 21:25, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

You're welcome, all :). I always feel bad for using the stock message, but it's a good way to help users find helpful links and, hey, it shows you we know you exist ;). Anyway, don't worry about being new or making mistakes--everybody has to start somewhere, right? Feel free to ask for help if you need it! –Eshetalk 03:01, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

RE: Could it be?[edit]

Nope, you got me there! I'm going to go with the excuse that I was a bit too young for Lovecraft-themed boardgames in the late 80's. I did however frequently play a functioning Dark Tower, which was passed down to me from an older friend getting rid of junk in his basement. That game was awesome! Alas, the battery contacts inside the tower unit eventually eroded, a true disappointment as I hear they're quite valuable nowadays. Ulthripe talk 10:48, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

Hello Eshe i need some help[edit]

Hello its always nice to get a warm welcome!

i am having some difficulty creating my user page, well no trouble at all i just dont know how im very knowledgeable about oblivion i have an Imperial a Altmer and a Dremora but i want to say their story about them please help Eshe and in return ill tell you about my imperial — Unsigned comment by Amkaos (talkcontribs) on September 7, 2009

Hi there! When it comes to creating user pages, you can do pretty much anything you want. Some people get really fancy with different tables and color schemes, while others prefer to keep it relatively simple. Almost everyone uses userboxes, though. There's plenty on that page for you to choose from, or you could make your own!
One thing I would recommend is browsing other people's pages to see if you find something you like. If you do, you could always steal the code from their page and use it on your own! Just make sure you don't accidentally change someone else's page in the process ;). It might not be a bad idea to ask the person first, but that's up to you. Hope that helps! –Eshetalk 20:41, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi Eshe i want to speak to you about a message you sent me[edit]

Hi Eshe,

You told me about my article and yes i understand, so i will try to make a better one and you gave me some things to get started on so i will. It was my first article and i'm just learning the ropes.

I hope you like some of my better articles in the future.

Devilsareus

I've been searching[edit]

i've been looking at alot of people's articles and i must they are EXTREMELY detailed so i have been doing some work on pages that need verification and i have verified the oblivion-arena-adoring fan description and all the details about the adoring fan, i've verified and all of it is true, apart from one little bit i'm not sure about, it is the part where the adoring fan can be lost forever you he can't keep up with you and you get the sigil stone in the planes of oblivion, that is the only part of information i havn't verified yet, oh and one other thing if i have verified a whole topic and know it's all true or what-not, then how do i prove that i have, to i have to tell an admin or something? — Unsigned comment by Devilsareus (talkcontribs) on September 7, 2009

Yeah, if you verify any of the contents of an article, leave a message on that article's talk page before you remove the "needs verification" tag. That way other people who are interested can discuss it and whether or not it belongs on the page. Thanks! –Eshetalk 22:40, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

RE: Morrowind Prophecies[edit]

It was the GotY edition. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 16:58, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Took me long enough to respond, but I adjusted the references on those pages to display the full book title. Thanks! –Eshetalk 22:05, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
You're welcome. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 17:17, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Would that be... Terry Pratchet?[edit]

Or should I say Sir Terry Pratchet. Judging by the patern used for the rest of your sandbox titles, I would assume so. If that is the case, then I applaud your taste in extremely entaining (if also extremely quirky) books. If not, then forget I said anything :). Dlarsh(Talk,Contribs) 23:32, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

It is! Well done ;). Of course, by default I also recommend all the other authors too, but Pratchett is absolutely wonderful :). –Eshetalk 23:38, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
I agree (on both counts), it's a shame about his alzheimers though ;_;. Dlarsh(Talk,Contribs) 23:39, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
How sad! I didn't even know! Then again, I didn't even start reading him until about a year ago (so much for being a "well-read English major"). That's so sad :(. –Eshetalk 23:46, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, He's easily the top contender for my favorite author, so I was extremely saddened by the news. I don't know how advanced it is though, so there is still hope for more Discworld novels in the future. Dlarsh(Talk,Contribs) 23:57, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Unemployment[edit]

Your talk page says your unemployed but, you say otherwise. Which one is it? Helper Unknown 01:21, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

I'm definitely employed :). I'm confused though--where are you seeing otherwise? –Eshetalk 01:31, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Images[edit]

If you happen to want to practice your screenshot skills ( ;) ), I could really use some images for the castles. Anvil and Bravil are done, but I'll need 'em for the rest of the castles, too, eventually. --GKTalk2me 20:47, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

You got it, darlin! That'll be a better way to get started, I think, since it'll be much easier to keep track of what I'm doing. At the moment, trying to decide how to organize a kajillion house pictures is kind of making my head spin! I can post a list for you as I go so you'll know where to find them :). –Eshetalk 21:09, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for cleaning up the Security:Lockpick section[edit]

I feel that a few other users here seem to think that since I do not have a user name or account that my edits are irrelevant. Thank you for cleaning up the page by both reducing the url size and keeping the audio cue. I feel that the audi is hard to express with written words. One day when I get better at this wiki thing I will create an account. 74.129.248.11 02:16, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

No problem! I personally never had any luck with that sound, but I know it's been helpful for a lot of other people. In the future though (and this goes for everyone involved), it's always better to start a discussion on the article's talk page when there's a disagreement about an edit. Clearly this situation was resolved relatively easily, but it's good to keep it in mind, just in case ;). –Eshetalk 02:20, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

I have a question![edit]

All edits that I do in pages, are undone by other users, with the excuse that they are unecessary! I need help, because not all of these editions are unecessary!

I'm not able to do extensive research at the moment, but I would recommend that you make sure you read through the entire article before making additions. Also, if someone disagrees with your edit, start a discussion on the article's talk page instead of repeatedly reverting their edits without explanation. That way you can both explain your reasoning and come to an agreement :). –Eshetalk 17:48, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Favor?[edit]

Can you zap those redirects that I created from restructuring my sandboxes? Thanks! –Elliot talk 04:15, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

Done! –Eshetalk 04:19, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

Why should "khajiit" be capitalized?[edit]

Is it not a species name, like elf, dwarf, human, etc?
If it's not their species' name, what is their species' name?
Because there's a big difference between a title, like High Elf, and just a plain old elf.
-- 24.239.104.185 06:36, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

We capitalize "Khajiit" because it is considered to be a race, like "High Elf" or "Breton." Also, it is capitalized in-game, so we do the same on the wiki for consistency :). –Eshetalk 14:03, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
I guess so. I took a peek around the wiki, and in the Oblivion manual, and that certainly appears to be the case. I guess their species is beastmen or perhaps cat people, and their nationality is Khajiit. (The other species being men and mer, which should definitely be lower-cased.) I do still see an excessive amount of Title Casing going on in TES lore. And that makes me cringe a bit. But I'll live! Thanks!
