Include as full page?[edit]

I spent a little time putting together a very rough draft of a page for a unique character with a not-so-unique name: the Stormcloak Soldier who talks to you in Sovngarde. I think that he deserves his own page because of his unique dialogue, basically unique schedule, and importance in the main quest. Could some people share what they think here about whether or not it should be its own page or simply be integrated into the somewhat underdeveloped Stormcloak Soldier? (Also, if it does become its own page I don't really know how to do that.) Thanks, --Vulpa 23:52, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

Aside from the outfit and inventory, is this soldier any different from this one? Is the dialogue the same for them both? ABCface 03:01, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Um, I'm not sure, because I don't really know what everything on that list meant. However, I am 90% sure that they are not the same, because I scouted out Sovngarde during that quest and everyone else that I met outside of the Hall of Valor only had a few non-conversation sentences to say. This guy that I started a page on is part of the quest though, and is the only one that had all that quest-related speech (i.e. about the Hall of Valor). Sorry, I can't I can check anything more definitive than my own multiple playthroughs. — Unsigned comment by Vulpa (talkcontribs) at 15:48 on 13 August 2012
Well, I'm pretty sure the way it's set up is that you either get one or the other; they're not both there in the same playthrough. I'm not that great when it comes to understanding game-data myself, so perhaps we'll have to get someone with more CK experience to check out the info on this. ABCface 15:51, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Good idea. I've done this quest twice (and each time I went through it multiple times to experience everything), and both times I got this guy (the stormcloak), so I can't verify that. It does make sense though to have two possibilities, because none of his dialogue can't be easily changed to fit an Imperial soldier. — Unsigned comment by Vulpa (talkcontribs) at 12:21 on August 13, 2012
My guess is it would depend on your choices earlier in the game, probably your Civil War questline choices in particular. Maybe try checking with someone like Krusty or RH, Krusty has tons of saves (I think on boths sides of the war), and RH is really good with understanding game-data. () It should always be a Stormcloak Soldier (the quest's ref LostSoul is filled by a ref which is attached to the specific Soldier). Vely►t►e 16:39, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. And, stupid question: does 'ref' stand for reference? Also, (not to be pushy) nobody has discussed yet whether or not this guy deserves his own page. — Unsigned comment by Vulpa (talkcontribs) at 12:45 on August 13, 2012
I started a discussion under your entry on the requested pages page (can't remember what it's called). Ref is reference, yes, and tends to be placed in the world somewhere (invisibly in the game but visibly in the CK). Vely►t►e 16:47, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for checking that Vely, now that you say it I see I was looking at the wrong part of the quest record when I saw the other soldier anyway. :P Also, I do think this dude deserves his own individual page, but I'll answer on the new page requests where the discussion started and will likely get more views. Um....?[edit]

Not a major problem here, considering that this page might not become a full one in the Skyrim namespace anytime soon (or at all). However, it'd be nice to know: can you add a small sentence into the bottom of a table without compromising the layout? I mean, I have a table with two columns that I want collapsed unless actively opened. For that table, I have an asterisk in one of the rows that has a sentence explaining it outside the table. However, when the table is collapsed, it looks gross. So "can I have a row at the bottom that is one column wide in a two-column table?" I guess is my question (sorry, I suck at explaining). Yes, you can. For example:
Cell 1 Cell 2
Cell 3
The code for this is:
{| class=wikitable
| Cell 1 || Cell 2
|-
|colspan=2| Cell 3
|}
In your particular case, however, I'd use the {{hover}} template, like this:
Near Giants' Gap, in the gloom before dawn...
The code for this is:
Near {{hover|Only otherwise mentioned in the book 'Holdings of Jarl Gjalund'|Giants' Gap}}, in the gloom before dawn...
The {{hover}} template is actually very cool, and quite useful. Use it sparingly, though - not everyone will know to mouse over it. • JAT 03:02, 11 November 2012 (GMT)

Thanks! You're right, that's pretty cool! And good job on deciphering my pathetic little speech up there ;P . --Vulpa 03:27, 11 November 2012 (GMT)
