A quick observation for thief roleplayers...[edit]

You don't necessarily have to be in the Thieves' Guild to be a thief or other criminal who needs to unload stolen goods. If your Mercantile is high enough, Manheim Maulhand at the Inn of Ill Omen will buy any of your stuff, and at Master Mercantile he effectively has 1050 gold available, which should be enough. It is little money compared to say, Fathis Ules, but then again, you are an independent thief, so you cannot be picky. And unlike Fathis Ules, Manheim Maulhand's Mercantile skills are terrible, so it's better in the long run.

You will want to start with as high a Mercantile skill as possible, though, so you are pretty much either stuck playing an Imperial or will need Fortify Mercantile spells.

Wow actually mine WAS a new idea[edit]

I guess ill NEVER Contibute to Wiki again then. You earased 30 minutes worth of work,...Modorators crush more and more good ideas,...If you just delete it then good luck with anything new Wiki mods.--— Unsigned comment by Roleplayer4life (talkcontribs)

Why so serious? This website is all about helping people and has been around for years. You may have thought you had an original idea but it wasn't, so go wipe away your tears, slap yourself and come up with a BETTER idea :)--Kri-Dar 10:21, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

..... LOL, why so serious? Are you going joker on us?!?! Dude, I wasn't him and don't know his idea, but that took work I know and moderators don't have the right to just erase. It's not fair. The only reason I even joined this sight was for the role playing page for cool ideas, and if they delete this im leaving. And this is a cool site, I dont want to leave. But honestly, mods are being dumb and shouldn't just delete our stuff. - Lord Jeerus

Well, I'm guessing that his idea was this one, which is fact is rather...dull. Besides if you mind to read when you're editing you will notice on your right the sentence "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly, then don't submit it here.", so you can't always expect to see your edit not to get reverted. Besides you can always ask on how to improve your edits to the mentors or other users. --MC S'drassa T2M 03:35, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Who cares what kind of format it was in, he worked hard and that guy said himself up there, he posted it, it could've been edited to match your crappy guidelines you didn't have to erase it all. Lord Jeerus 22:37, 19 December 2009 (UTC)Lord Jeerus

The problem is that if we don't enforce our heavily guidelines on the role pages, they quickly become full of the same character repeated over and over again and with sub sections about how to role play Darth Vader. The role pages on the site have undergone at least two major restructurings, and the guidelines are there so we don't need a third. Also, his idea, [[1]] was merely reworded, not entirely deleted.--Ratwar 00:11, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

They should tell the person why they are deleting it 1st LILC 12:48, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

Again, like Ratwar said, they only reworded it not deleted it. --MC S'drassa T2M 15:09, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

i agree people should be told before there articles are deleted i mean the people who make articles are just as important if not more important than the readers, as without us you guys arent gonna have a very good roleplaying page are you? and let us make contributions pleasse so i can add onto Gray Fox — Unsigned comment by Connorw10 (talkcontribs)

It already has enough as it is, if I could change it I'd actually remove some stuff; nobody needs their hands held when they're roleplaying. And I believe I suggested build up ideas until this whole issue is over; so I did warn that things were going to change. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 20:48, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

Siren[edit]

You could make your female character be a Siren. Choose a race with high personality (anything but Orc and Argonian), make her young and attractive, Give her a Siren class; Speachcraft, Illusion, Sneak, Mercantile, Blade/Blunt (in case of emergencies), Security, Acrobatics or Athletics. Go to a bar/inn, use a charm spell or use speachcraft to get a guy to like you. Use a command humanoid spell on him to get him to follow you. When you take him to a 'safe' location, draw your weapon and threaten him (or paralyze him). As he tries to leave (or when he's stunned), pickpocket him and take all his items.

I WOULD put this in the article, but it seems abit messy so if anyone could help me re-write my Siren job, please go ahead. Thank you! --Sencilia 09:32, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Exile Section[edit]

Is the part about locking yourself in Battlethorn Castle really needed? If someone trys this without saving then they could lose their character because they are unable to escape. PC gamers can use the console to get out but not Xbox and Playstation gamers. I'm just saying this is bad advice.--Kri-Dar 10:44, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

The Roleplaying pages are one of the few pages that really are "edited mercilessly". I would say that if you thing that section is bad advice, just remove or edit it. —Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 09:42, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

Drug Dealer Section[edit]

Don't delete my work please, I had a good idea, it's different than addict and black market dealer, and I worked hard on it so don't delete it. You guys are erasing all the good ideas and it's getting kind of ridiculous.— Unsigned comment by Lord Jeerus (talkcontribs) on 19 December 2009

Please don't feel that we are trying to be cruel or anything; we really are trying to help the site and certainly not to discourage users from contributing. I don't know who reverted your edit, but I'm sure him/her was just trying to avoid redudancy. I read your edit and it did seem really similar to black market dealer. For the Roleplaying section we are trying to avoid too many sections as it does become sloppy. Remember, this is an encylopedia. I generally don't like the idea of a Roleplaying section, but some users and readers do like yourself. I think we could improve the section by instead adding more to the already existing sections, and maybe try to merge some sections. We will always appreciate the contributions of users, but we must remember that this site is for the readers who want info on the Elder Scrolls. -- Jplatinum16 02:13, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
Jplatinum's right, the Drug Dealer is just a more specific Black Market Dealer. There's really no reason to have both, and the Black Market Dealer offers more variety. Dlarsh(Talk,Contribs,E-mail) 02:25, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
The "Black Market Dealer" section already has the same idea, since it mentions "illegal items and substances", which would include drugs. Feel free, though, to add more to the Black Market Dealer section. --GKTalk2me 02:28, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
It is a lot like it, but BM Dealers deal EVERYTHING bad, such as stolen things and lockpicks, the person im talking about will only sell skooma and felldew and greenmote. Lord Jeerus 17:27, 20 December 2009 (UTC)Lord Jeerus

at least y'all are original, but you forgot one...[edit]

completely obvious, assassin, hide in the shadows, killing targets you think are unworthy (or worthy, depending on how psychopathic you are, just kidding, I think :D). you could have subsections like dark brotherhood type, or mythic dawn killing all the people in power.--just a suggestion, I prefer to play the person who has max skills and attributes :D Mikeyboy52 13:56, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Like this? --GKtalk2me 18:05, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
oh, thanks GK, looks like I should broaden my searches, that is the second time I've failed to find something while searching for it. — Unsigned comment by Mikeyboy52 (talkcontribs) on 4 January 2010

Huh?[edit]

why would party of heroes go on the crimanal article if there good then why put it here?-- Thedrunknord 00:27, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

I agree it's a bit strange, although one can think of examples where a person who is performing criminal actions can be considered "good". I have no qualms about it staying here. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 21:50, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Deletion[edit]

Am I the only one that thinks this page, and all the other roleplaying pages, should be deleted? I'd put a "proposed for deletion" box on the page, but can't remember how. Mikeyboy52 05:43, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

It has already been attempted, but it was voted to be kept. You can propose another DR and see if people still want this. --SerCenKing Talk 08:47, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
To many opposed it for me to suggest it, although it was 2 years ago.. Mikeyboy52 06:00, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
I'd probably support a DR for them, if that helps. I can see arguments to keep them, but by and large, I think they're better left on each user's page than here. Robin HoodTalk 02:03, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
I would make one, but put simply, I don't know the proper way of doing it. Mikeyboy52 03:50, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
I can't say that I blame you. That's something that we've wanted to look at for a while now. If you want to, though, you can just write up your reasoning here and one of us who's more familiar with the process can transfer it to DR for you. I don't want to push you into anything, though; if you're thinking that the roleplaying pages are annoying but not worth the effort of a DR, well, welcome to the club. :) Robin HoodTalk 14:05, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Its the same reason I supported the "Things to do when your bored" page being deleted, plus some. Basically each person will have a different oppinion on what "roles" should and shouldnt be put on the page. If they stay on userpages and sandboxes there will be less disagreements and things like that. By the time tesv or tesmmo comes out, youll see another set of "roleplaying pages" unless the pages are taken care of here first. Allowing roleplaying pages will give excuses to start fanfic pages, which should absolutely be kept on user/sandbox pages (unless you plan to publish or something). Mikeyboy52 06:31, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Oops, I forgot to post back here to mention that the DR has been created. You can find it here. Robin HoodTalk 01:16, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Why can't role-playing articles be moved to forum's? I don't see why not. Cirith Mara 20:26, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Revamp anyone?[edit]

I've been a criminal roleplayer for a long time and drug dealer before that. I believe we can shape this page up. To start, the guerrilla rebel entry has many creative ideas, but is drawn-out, and ends up too being too specific by giving a set mission, rather than leaving it open to the player's wishes. The bandit entry makes good points, but forgets that half of a bandit's job is guarding their treasure, not just collecting it. The black market dealer article could easily be fleshed out by included possible bases for drug manufacturing, as well as the many historically correct and lore-friendly ingredients you could use to make your own drugs (nightshade, morning glory....). Also, the gang leader entry is a creative idea, but should probably include a useful roleplaying asset, permanent paralysis of NPCs via cursed enchantments, which would be the in-game equivalent method to a gangster breaking an enemy's legs. Anyways. I'm just scratching the surface here. If anyone has any problem with a large-scale article edit, please voice your opinion. If anyone is willing to help out with ideas, grammar, whatever, let me know. If no one speaks I'll be going for it. 24.189.164.73 04:32, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Go ahead and try your hand at it yourself, its a wiki you know :P MikeTalk 13:25, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Haha, just playing it safe. Didn't want to end up like the last guy with all his contributions removed. Peace. 24.189.164.73 07:47, 26 June 2010 (UTC) I've rewritten the drug dealer section. I think I made good points, although the formatting is pretty poor. I'm inexperienced with wiki markup.
