not fixed?

"Fixed the issue where two identically improved one-handed weapons could not be favorited separately"

is it just fixed on pc or ps3? i got the patch on 360 after school today, and i just tested it, my daedric war axes still stack in my favorites menu. (Eddie The Head 14:56, 30 November 2011 (UTC))
I used the official Bethesda patch notes when I was creating the page. That was added by an IP later so I'm going to remove it. mxk101Talk 16:46, 30 November 2011 (UTC)

Mouse sensitivity issue introduced by patch

Myself and several other people have a problem where the patch sets vertical mouse movement to such an extremely low settings that it appears that vertical movement has been locked. You really have to go for it to see any movement up or down at all. It can be fixed by editing the Skyrim.ini, but not by any in-game settings. Tropxe 02:02, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

I had the complete opposite issue. Vertical mouse movement was so loose that just an itty bitty nudge would send the camera rolling up into the clouds or force me to stare at my character's feet. 75.18.195.46 02:12, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

DRM Installation Limits?

Can anyone find documentation on DRM limits to installation? I installed on a laptop, but would also like to install it on a desktop for better graphics settings. I'd further like to test playability on multiple Linux systems to test how it runs through Wine so I wouldn't have to log into Windows if good enough on Linux. (People have been reporting good results in Linux, but haven't commented on frame rates, etc.) But I don't want to try this if Bethesda/Steam would decide more than X installs is assumed copyright violation and shuts down my game. Anyone know? Carltonh 15:52, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

DRM?

I don't yet own Skyrim, but the rumor around the Web is that the latest patch introduced mandatory DRM, requiring the player to maintain a high speed internet connection while playing (via Steam I think). If there is any substance to this, it really should be mentioned, as it renders the game unplayable to those with dialup internet. 166.182.3.224 16:40, 30 November 2011 (UTC)

You only need to be connected to the internet when you're registering the game with Steam. You can then use 'offline mode'. mxk101Talk 16:46, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
Does the disc version have to be registered that way, or only the one actually downloaded from Steam? 166.182.3.185 16:56, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
It's standard procedure for all steam retail games, can't say specifically if it applies to Skyrim, but I'll be very surprised if you don't need to be online to register it. Works fine in offline mode, thought — Unsigned comment by Chromophobia (talkcontribs) at 18:56 on 30 November 2011 (UTC)

Dragonrend on a Dragon After 1.2

I don't know if it's worth posting here, but after installing patch 1.2 on my PS3, the second dragon I saw (about ten minutes after loading) it began that odd behavior (i.e. it flew backwards and had a bizarre flight and attack pattern), so I used Dragonrend on it. It proceeded to have a seizure in mid-flight, and it never landed. It was pretty funny and thought I'd share that. There are other glitches and bugs I noticed after 1.2 as well. Imperial Jerkface 20:49, 30 November 2011 (UTC)

Actually, alduin did that to me before i used dragonrend, after i used it he flew away, and eventually came back and landed like normal (Eddie The Head 09:44, 8 December 2011 (UTC))

Dragons Still Not Giving Souls on Rare Occasion - Patch 1.2

"Fixed rare issue with dragons not properly giving souls after death." Apparently, this has not been fixed completely as I just killed my 3rd dragon of the day after 1.2, and it did not give me its soul. This is only the 2nd one out of 35 I have absorbed (so I killed 37 dragons in total), the first comming after battling a Dragon and a Blood Dragon at the same time. The normal Dragon gave me it's soul, but the Blood one didn't. This time, it was a Frost Dragon that failed to give me it's soul. I know that this fix is listed in the official patch note, but I thought that I'd note here that it hasn't been patched completely. Imperial Jerkface 21:33, 30 November 2011 (UTC)

This happened to me as well, it seems like every now and then a dragon I kill won't give me a soul. ThuumofReason 16:29, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
Still happening to me. I don't consider it much of a problem though, since I have 19 dragon souls in my inventory just waiting on finding Word Walls. The only time souls make a difference is at low levels when you don't get many random encounters. After level 10 or so, you should start to develop a surplus with the increasing number of randoms, especially if you start following questlines other than the main one. But if you are short on souls and need one quickly, I believe I read somewhere that there are a couple of respawning dragon lairs (I think Shearpoint is one.) and that these respawned dragons will still yield a soul. Soul farms, so to speak. This 'missing soul' glitch is probably just a loading error when generating a random encounter/treasure and will never be completely fixed. Lazar 04:11, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

1.2 killed my game

After the 1.2 patch my game wont start at all. Anyone else having same problem? (I didn't even want to update the game yet but piece of junk called Steam installed it without my permission.) 109.204.132.235 22:53, 30 November 2011 (UTC) -Gaidini

Are you getting any error messages? Imperial Jerkface 00:01, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
I've seen a lot of other people have this problem on the Skyrim Nexus forums. Though, by the way, you *did* technically give Steam permission to download it; all Steam games have an option to not automatically update. Tropxe 02:02, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
There are many reports of people like myself, who set Steam not to auto-update and it reset itself and downloaded the patch. It is to not that both the interface.bsa and the .exe where updated, so in order to reverse the patch both need to be restored. Blink86 09:05, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
540e684cb63b0218ec865c7791649734 is the md5sum of an unpatched TESV.exe for everyone having trouble finding it. Lukish_ Tlk Cnt 17:40, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

I went into Properties and set it to the "Don't update this game without my permission" option for Skyrim, but as soon as the patch was released, the option reverted and I suddenly found myself playing with the worst "patch" ever. Why even provide the option of turning off automatic updates if they're just going to force you to stomach the latest patches anyway?? 75.18.195.46 02:17, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

Where are the patches

Where do I download these alleged patches? I have looked and looked again at the Bethesda website, and there are only patches for Oblivion and previous games. I have the PC version, and am not interested in Steam or online playing.216.99.54.109 17:15, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

You must download the patch from Steam. mxk101Talk 17:19, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
Registering your game with Steam is free of charge and you can just play in offline mode. It comes in handy when a full patch is released by Bethesda to Steam and they autoinstall it for you. I'm up to 1.3.10 off the original release disk and never patched anything myself and never paid a cent. I don't play online either. Lazar 04:32, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Arrow keys

Is it just me or have the arrow keys been shut off with this patch? I used to be able to use them to navigate through my inventory but now I can't (I haven't played since before the patch because of starting new shifts at my job so sleeping lots). Any way to change so I can arrow key through my inventory again? 173.183.165.30 12:19, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Arrow keys indeed do not work for menu scrolling, you'll have to adjust to using wsad (perhaps they are now tied to your movement keybindings, not tested) - Rab — Unsigned comment by 92.18.78.54 (talk) at 08:28 on 5 December 2011 (UTC)
Edit: This has been fixed in 1.3, arrow keys work for menu scrolling regardless of movement keybinding - Rab — Unsigned comment by 92.18.22.187 (talk) at 05:08 on 8 December 2011 (UTC)

1.2, the new bugs, and their occurence rate

Would anybody that has the newest update (especially for Xbox) like to offer testimony about the rarity of the bugs that have been introduced like the backwards dragons? Stouf761 22:45, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Patch Portability question

How hard is it to port a patch from PC to console such as PS3 or XBox360? The reason I ask is that I was reading the glitch list and the fact that many of the glitches found in Oblivion were solved not by Bethesda but by fan made patches. I'm asking seriously because I don't know, but how hard is it to port a patch that solves the problems?

Don't get me wrong I love all of the Elder Scroll series that I have played so far, though I have to say that Skyrim is now first, and Morrowind is Second, with Oblivion being third. I don't expect Bethesda to fix all the problems right now as it just came out and I still enjoy it greatly though it is annoying to be unable to finish a quest due to an npc not offering the appropriate dialog as well as carting more than thirty lbs. of "quest" items that you can't get rid of. However, I just wonder if we, the console gamers, will get the short end of the stick again as Oblivion for PC worked wonderfully due to the Fan-made patches which allowed for example leveled items to level with the player rather than having an item that will only be useful for a couple of levels even though it is supposed to be an "ultimate" unique. (And I can't run Skyrim on my PC for those of you who would just say to buy the PC version if it is that important to me.) Thanks for any information! — Unsigned comment by 98.162.209.206 (talk) at 21:10 on 4 December 2011 (UTC)

It's highly doubtful that a fan would be able to submit a patch to MS and/or Sony for inspection before releasing it. It would have been nice to get the UOPatch, but again, fan-made patches would most likely be simply forgotten about by console companies, where as on the PC, there is no inspection and verification process, you just download and go. --Mikeytalkemail 05:41, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Patch 1.1 release date

I don't know if this is important or whatnot, but I got my skyrim on the 10th (early shipping :D) and I was prompted to download an update as soon as I started playing (on the 10th). So the release date wasn't the 11th, at least not on the 360 (which is what I play on). MeNoPsycho 14:12, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

1.3 Patch Issues

Personally i'm still not seeing the magical resistance issue fixed in 1.3. Has anyone else experienced this issue? --TerryS 18:41, 7 December 2011 (UTC) *Edit* Aparently the update I downloaded was just 1.2 as the 1.3 update hasn't hit xbox yet. Never mind. --TerryS 18:52, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

If you only just now downloaded the 1.2 update, you shouldn't have had a magical resistance issue at all, previous to that....?? Oshaugm 22:48, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

Blessing of talos reports 0% in active effects. but seems to have applied anyway. (xbox 1.3.5)

RaW 09:08, 19 December 2011 (UTC)

It's always said that for me as far as the Talos Blessing goes. I know the effect is there but it says 0%. I took it as a mistype of some sort where it's entered as 0.2 then the game rounds it up to 0%. That's my two cents anyway. --Mikeytalkemail 05:43, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

1.3 Patch Stealth Attacked Me

I set Skyrim to not accept automatic updates without my permission, but today when I started playing, I noticed some oddness such as the game explaining how to deal with vendors as if it was my first time, and suddenly being able to use arrow keys in the menus again, so I quit and went to check the version, and what do you know, it had automatically patched the game to 1.3 without asking or even NOTIFYING me. I checked, and it had reverted to the "Always keep this game up to date" option without my permission. Am I the only one who finds this to be completely unacceptable?! I mean, it's no wonder people want to play offline if they're going to forcefeed you every single rushed and possibly ruinous patch they put out! 75.18.195.46 02:25, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

The latest Steam Client update addresses this problem Mikkel Juul 09:32, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
Likewise. It's the fourth damn time I tell Steam/Skyrim to NOT UPDATE, and it's the fourth damned time it does so anyway (and yes I have the latest Steam Client). Think I'm gonna block that POS software via firewall, only way to make sure it stops doing things I'm explicitly telling it NOT TO DO. Because right now, I'm again left with something unplayable (mouselook is completely screwed), and I haven't been able to make a backup before patching. 142.167.99.88 13:10, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

1.3 not for console?

Just out of curiosity, is the page right and I should continue to not update my console or am I missing something? It is beyond ridiculous to take more than a week longer to fix the same issues they created.Stouf761 02:38, 15 December 2011 (UTC)

its not out on console yet. (Eddie The Head 03:09, 15 December 2011 (UTC))
Any word on when they will bother to do so? Stouf761 03:32, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
not that i know of, I'm asuming that they are going to fix some of the more major console bugs at the same time, I'd also say they are testing it to make sure its not another disaster like 1.2 (although i did manage to kill a giant at level 6 due to him no longer resisting paralisis :D) (Eddie The Head 03:35, 15 December 2011 (UTC))
As of now 1.3 seems to have rolled out on Xbox, bookcases are working again and no backwards dragons as of yet. --82.169.14.98 14:11, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
yep i just downloaded it on 360, havnt had a chance to test it yet and i dunno if its on ps3 yet. (Eddie The Head 14:26, 15 December 2011 (UTC))
Hasn't fixed my bookcases. I can't comment on anything else cause i had no other problems from 1.2 Citti 20:43, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
Oh apparently, it won't fix bookshelves that have already been broken but it will stop new one's from breaking Citti 20:58, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
Any news on how the 1.3 patch is working for the 360? I'm scared to download it along with 1.2. Oshaugm 15:28, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
I have the 1.3 patch on the 360 now. Still having the magic resistance issue. My save game never had any dragon issues (and the ensuing framerate slowdown) but another game save (on another profile) on my xbox does. I'll give it a try and see if its fixed. I dont have any book cases in my houses so I'm not sure on that. I'll give it a crack though. Honestly, i'm really tired of this magic resistance crap not working. 560 armor, 95% magic resistance, 590 hp, and a damn necromancer casting ice spike can take me out in 5 shots. Complete bullshit. --TerryS 05:16, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
My magic resistance works fine now, thats pretty much the only problem i had with 1.2 (Eddie The Head 07:02, 18 December 2011 (UTC))
I have fixed my magic resistance issue as well now. I had to equip another set of armor, then swap back to my daedric set. --TerryS 22:03, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
Update: I downloaded the 1.3 patch for 360 yesterday. Went from v1.1.17 (or something like that) to v1.3.5 with a 4MB download. (The 1.2 patch I was avoiding was 3MB.) I played for quite a few hours and had almost no problems. Resistances and bookshelves work fine. My Red Eagle quest is messed up, though. Oshaugm 00:24, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
I've never had the magic resist issue until just today. I've been running offline with 1.3.5 for a couple weeks since my laptop needs to be repaired and suddenly I'm taking much more magic damage then I was even just yesterday. I'm gonna get my laptop booted long enough to redownload the patches and see if that fixes it but I just found it funny that suddenly after having never had that problem I get it now. 1.3 for xbox, map quest markers

version 1.3.5 auto installed some time ago, and i have been experiencing an increase in quest markers/location markers not appearing on the map.

apparently this mainly happens when a location has a quest associated to it- it will either not show the quest marker. not show the location marker. or not show either at all.

so far this has happened alot to me in the last few days , i have no idea when 1.3 installed. i can count at least a dozen instances of this happening. and wondering why.

as of now, i have two misc quests, red eagle and bandit bounty. that will not show an arrow.

update: finished the bandit radiant quest. and red eagles marker appeared.

patch 1.3 = unlimited magic per second?

console = xbox, patch 1.3.5

all of my 'per second' spells (including: healing, clairvoyance, frostbite, flames, and sparks) continue firing after magicka is too low.

however spells like ice spike or 'per use' magic works normally. (meaning it runs out)

will continue testing this one as i learn new spells.

update: this glitch works while you have levels saved up. after levelling, magicka ran out and spells stopped.

update2: i have not been able to recreate this glitch. chalk it up to a random bug.

RaW 13:28, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

Did you have the effect from cleansing the magical focus point thingy still active? Since that seems to cause a bug with unlimited magicka like you're describing. I've been able to recreating this a couple times on 360. Once the effect runs out magicka drains like normal. Lord Eydvar 18:18, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

Ohgma Infinium not fixed by 1.3 patch

As long this Book Glitch and that my Lizard Friend stays essential (Might've spell it wrong); I prolly will get the 1.4 Patch (Still on 1.0 mainly because I don't have XBL). Btw, does anyone knows if it is possible to download patches from the PC then transport them on a Flash Drive to the 360? Or do I have to wait for the GOTYE?— Unsigned comment by 172.162.252.216 (talk) at 00:05 on 1 February 2012 (UTC)

Unlisted changes

In the resent version (1.3.10) you can see your current bounty in every hold on the statistics page. This wasn't possible in the original version 1.1.21. Does somebody know, with which patch these statistics were added? --Killfetzer 23:40, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

This functionality has been present in the game since release (before patch 1) for PC; I can't comment as to the experience for console users. — Unsigned comment by 67.168.167.16 (talk) at 07:07 on 6 January 2012
This functionallity was NOT present in 1.1.21 on the PC (at least in the German version, but the localized version only differ in the .string files so it is unlikely that something in the interface should be different). I still have a copy of this version and can show screenshots. --Killfetzer 10:57, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Lower graphics

I noticed the graphics were lowered with patch 1.3 on PS3, particularly the light effects, the distance of view (trees, bushes, etc) and the rock textures. Would it be possible to assess that by comparing screenshots of the original and the patched version? I'm not sure how to do that Keautay 06:52, 09 January 2012 (UTC)

Patch 1.3.10 Not utilizing more RAM

So I've been playing Skyrim, and my computer has refused to utilize more than .8 GB of RAM since the release of the 1.3.10 Patch. I've been trying to google the answers, but I'm not finding anything about RAM being available. I have 6 GB of RAM, and at least 3 GB are free and unused, yet the LAA functionality of the game is refusing to activate. Suggestions? --155.42.84.157 21:19, 19 January 2012 (UTC)

patch 1.4

Just thought I'd post this, it doesn't give a date but they say are testing the latest patch, the patch fixes list looks a little long for me to believe they will all work though. (Eddie The Head 01:06, 20 January 2012 (UTC))

I added the changelog with links, but I'm not sure regarding: "Clearing Knifepoint Ridge before starting Boethiah’s Champion no longer prevents quest from starting" (last entry) if they don't mistatken about Boethiah’s Champion, maybe is should be ""Boethiah's Calling" (emc 12:24, 20 January 2012 (CET))

Long Term Play Issues Effectively Resolved by Patch 1.4

Two days ago, I decided to download and install the beta version of the 1.4 patch (the current version is 1.4.15.0.4), after my game had become unplayable over time. After about 400 hours of crash-free real-time play, the situation more or less continusously changed to crashes occurring every couple of minutes and all sorts of weird problems popping up, including missing scenery, random crashes that were not apparently related to any fps drops, unresponsive or completely missing NPCs and defunct activators (levers, traps, doors not working or nor even being rendered).

After installation of the patch, all those problems were instantly gone (!!!) and the game performed as it did when I started playing it (i.e. no crashes at all). I also noticed that the size of my save games has significantly reduced from 17 MB +/- 300 KB before installing the patch to about 14MB after the installation. I will briefly summarize below all of the problems I have encountered between 400 and 600 hours of real-time play. I strongly recommend to anyone to whom those problems are familiar, to give the 1.4 patch a try, even if it's still in its beta state.

When I started playing skyrim about eight weeks ago, the game ran fluently and I had no crashes at all even in long playing sessions (e.g. I started playing on saturday morning, left the game waiting in pause mode on late saturday evening, resumed it the next morning and played another ten hours or so and there still were no crashes). There were occasional fps drops when the game had to load large amounts of data from the hard drive (which became worse after I installed several higher resolution texture replacer packs), but this rarely took more than 2 seconds before the fps went back to normal. I also had a bunch of other mods installed almost from the beginning but they were not causing any problems either. The first problems occurred after about 400 hours of real-time play and they soon got worse. In the beginning, there only were occasional crashes every couple of hours (in the end, however, they were occurring every couple of minutes) and then, there were those weird problems that finally made my game unplayable:

Missing scenery: this was first noticed in several dungeons, where individual parts had not been rendered and I could walk straight into the sky box, but later on, it also happened in exterior cells (missing objects and entire buildings at Falkreath and Riverwood). After about 600 hours of real-time play, the game was finally in an essentially unplayable condition, and on several occasions, all that was present in an interior I had just walked into were the sky box, a few floating objects and NPCs falling into infinity. Upon reloading, the scenery was properly rendered, but all NPC enemies were missing and activators did not work (i.e. traps not triggering, levers not working, doors not opening, etc.)

Repeatable crashes when trying to enter certain interior cells: when first occurring, this problem could still be resolved by travelling into another part of the game world and coming back after several in-game days, but later on, those interiors remained permanently inaccessible.

Repeatable crashes in exteriors, supposedly when trying to move from one cell into another. This first happened in areas of the game world, where I had been busily playing over an extended period of time (for me, this were the areas around Riften and Whiterun), but later on, it affected more or less the whole game world and the few areas in which the game did not immediately crash were devoid of any NPCs. 84.161.109.102 06:25, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

Merge patch 1.4

Maybe it is good idea to merge all betas (chengelogs) into one entry? --Emc 14:59, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

Invisibility Glitch w/ 1.4

Since installing 1.4, Invisibility no longer lasts for the intended 30 seconds. Sometimes it turns off immediately after being cast, sometimes it takes longer, but it never seems to make it the full 30 seconds. I was wearing Nightingale Armor and playing on 360. Has anybody else seen anything similar? Chris3145 20:28, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

In my case, after the patch, if I cast muffle along with invisibility neither spell will wear off unless I break invisibility by the normal means, not that I'm complaining:) Although I have also noticed that spells seem to take a little bit longer to cast. RIM 20:33, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Patch 1.4 - fixes Bards College Misc quests?

On the list of fixes, it is only mentioned that: Finding Pantea’s Flute before speaking with Pantea no longer prevents her quest from updating. Previously, I had attempted various things to try and get the lute and flute taken out of my inventory at the end of each quest to no avail. After the patch, I tried again and found that both the lute and flute quests act normally and remove the item as intended! Yay! Is this a hidden fix? If others can confirm, it should be updated on the following pages:

--Amsuko 00:53, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Confirmed with Finn's Lute on Xbox360. Lute was removed and quested added and completed even though lute was recovered without having been to the Bard's College whatsoever. Lord Eydvar 01:43, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Skyrim keeps crashing...

Hey guys, I've installed the 1.4 patch on my xbox 360, at first it was working, the game was fine. Then like a day later, whenever I load a game, 9 minutes in, my game crashes... I'm not sure if this is the fault of my console, or whether it's the patch. Any feedback would be helpful, I'm a level 40 elf on it and I really don't want to have to start a new game... 92.28.87.95 09:32, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Well, you could see if it's just the character, make a new just to see if it crashes just don't save over your old file. You could also try clearing your cache which will uninstall the patch (and any other game patches or DLC you have but you can get it all back again free). Yeah I'm on 360 and have played probably 20hrs since 1.4 and haven't had a crash on loading. I'm guessing its probably just your file having issues. Lord Eydvar 17:40, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Oohh, it was my xbox being an arse! But thank you everyone for your feedback <3 92.29.194.13 02:30, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Patch 1.4 - good/bad points

Feel free to add to this!!! Please, add good things you've noticed too - Thanks.

Good points -

  • Graphics are smoother. Philbert 00:54, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
  • AI: Follower pathing seems better. Philbert 00:54, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
  • AI: Follower Lydia isn't bumping into you as often. Philbert 00:54, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Bard College quests now remove the quest items. Philbert 00:54, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Save files slightly smaller. Roughly 10%. Philbert 00:54, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Magic, fire, cold resistances seems to calculate properly now. Philbert 00:54, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Long term play game-crashes are now a rarity. Philbert 00:54, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Xbox.svg Besides graphics being smoother, there is a noticeable increase in screen resolution and particle density. Also, lightning resistance seems to be working correctly now. --Mikeytalkemail 05:57, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Mana recharge now calculates properly for worn items. Philbert 01:08, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

Bad Points -

  • Dead dragons, some with skin (mostly), some just bones, appear everywhere. Some even appear to follow you. If you see one, trek around a bit, there it is again in a new spot. (tested by putting an arrow in its inventory - same dragon.) Philbert 00:54, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
    • I've had one dead dragon appear (didn't kill it) in Whiterun. It is always in or very near the town. Same dragon (inventory check), but always in a slightly different spot each time you leave and come back. When in town, it is half imbedded in the scenery. Has been there on every visit since its appearance, over 20 visits, wasn't effected by Battle for Whiterun. One character has not had any problem, other has had this one dragon. Might have happened right at 1.4 patch update, but not sure.(XBox) --Amsuko 17:17, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Not all arrow hits register. This may be accuracy issues on the players part but doubtful. Philbert 00:54, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
    • I use the bow to kill absolutely everything, and I've not seen any changes. I pay close attention to accuracy since I die easily. Perhaps it is a chance-per-character bug, or something in particular in your game is bugged? --Amsuko 17:17, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Not all dragons go into attack mode (this may be Alduin flying around?) Philbert 00:54, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
    • Can't be sure, but I thought it seemed like there were a lot more dragons in the wild, several times two will be visible from the same location, but they were also easier to avoid. Haven't tried attacking, but I can openly walk near them. I have not progressed enough to 'discover' Alduin. (XBox) --Amsuko 17:17, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Solitude house - 5 slot weapons rack in basement, first and last slots can accept all weapons but only long items; Broadswords, Staves, Etc can be retrieved. Can also put multiple items in these two slots. Philbert 00:54, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
  • NPC's, including Bad Guys seem to slide instead of walk more as if the animation was toned down. Philbert 00:54, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Unwanted items placed in a respawning bad guy will remain in their inventory when they respawn. Tested using massive amounts of buckets, cheap clothes etc on Forsworn outside Kolskeggr Mine. Philbert 00:54, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Xbox.svg Bad point: Invisibility occasionally turns off prematurely. When it starts happening, it will keep happening for quite a while, but I've also gone several hours without incident. Chris3145 06:45, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
    • I've experienced this, but not in a row, like described above. Just a couple of times, invisibility will turn off without the "whoosh" sound effect and without the flash of light. Character just suddenly pops into visible mode. Using potions.(XBox) --Amsuko 17:17, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Falmer path marker staves, Chaurus Reaper (and possibly std Chaurus), and Chaurus Egg Sacks are all a bright greenish color, like a day-glow. Philbert 00:54, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
    • UPDATE: Once you clear the location the color of all things go back to normal. No need to leave first, as soon as you hear the sound that indicates its cleared the colors change. Philbert 23:32, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
      • UPDATE 2: This seems to be particular to Duskglow Cave and parts of Sightless Pit. Unknown if this is a bug. Philbert 01:08, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
  • On PS3, I've noticed the framerate/chugging problems seem to have totally disappeared, but the loading screens are seemingly longer. I hadn't been timing them, so this is just my impression. Can anyone confirm or deny? DeeLow 20:38, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
    • I don't think so based on how long it takes me to get a cup of coffee. Its about the same. (I know, not a scientific method - oh well) Philbert 00:28, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
UPDATE: There may be something to this. Depending on whether you are leaving an area (exiting a house) or are fast traveling the load time does seem a little longer on fast travel, but not always. Still working out the dynamics. Philbert 10:17, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
Load times are 20 sec for houses. 30 ~ 50 seconds for fast travel. Don't know if this is longer than before update. Philbert 01:08, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Lydia does not always respond to "Follow Me" commands. Her dialog plays but she does not change state. It may take up to three times for her to enter follow mode. Philbert 00:54, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
  • When entering a Dragon Battle the music occasionally does not change. Philbert 03:54, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Xbox.svgFog effects appear to be diminished throughout the game. Also, interior shadows are noticably pixelated.
  • Xbox.svgScenery seems to lack depth. There is a glitch where the mountains viewed from Solitude blacksmith disappear/re-appear and change shape when you move.
  • Xbox.svgThere appears to be a significant amount of "pop-in," where NPCs and other objects suddenly appear within close range.
  • Xbox.svgNoticable framerate issues around waterwheel in Markarth since 1.4.
  • Xbox.svgMy Breezehome bookcase disappeared at one point and the books were just floating there. The issue seems to have corrected iteself, but never had any issues before 1.4 patch.
  • Xbox.svgThe weapon plaques in Breezehome do not work correctly. When mounted, the weapon floats in the air to the right.
  • Xbox.svg Horse mounting glitch has not been corrected. When mounting my horse, it didn't work properly and I was just controlling the horse. Game then froze, but was able to reload a save.

As I notice things I'll add them. Feel free to add your own experiences.

Note: Just add to the bottom of the Good or Bad section to keep them together. No need to follow the normal WIKI COMMENT STYLE of putting them at the bottom and indenting. Please sign them with the 4 tildes though as a courtesy. The idea is to see what we the users are finding in an easy to see format. Thanks Philbert 11:03, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

Something downloaded from Steam yesterday

As I closed down Skyrim yesterday like 4-5-6-ish in the evening (CET) Steam started to download to my computer something for Skyrim. I did not observe closely, but it might have been around 50-100 MB. I just let it download before I closed down the computer for the day, but guessed it was something like a small patch or something. The thing is, I do not seem to find any sign of what it can have been, as the version number has not changed and I find no reference on the net to any kind of update of any kind. I am sure something downloaded though, but what? --MortenOSlash 19:46, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

I have decided it must have been *blush* the Steam Cloud sync. -MortenOSlash 19:43, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Version 1.4.27.0.4

Yes, I am positively sure this time. (No confusing with Steam Cloud sync.) Version 1.4.27.0.4 is the version number on my pc version just now. I have not found anything on it yet. --MortenOSlash 21:23, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Copied in from Bethblog. It seems to be identical with the previous Beta. Please rewrite and reformat to comply with UESPWiki standards. --MortenOSlash 06:08, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
Not quite identical, I see now. The difference seems to be the bullet point about followers sneaking correctly. --MortenOSlash 06:11, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
