Featured images follow the same nomination process as for Featured Articles, but as they appear in a different section of the main page, a separate series of votes is held to decide which images meet the required standard.

For an image to be eligible for Featured status, it must be used in a UESP article. This is to prevent specially-taken beauty shots from stealing the limelight.

A gallery of older Featured Images can be found here. Similarly, the archives of previous nominations can be found here. Note that not all failed nominations are included.

Featured Image Process[edit]

Any registered member can nominate any image at any time. Nominated images should be of high quality and meet the site's image standards.

To nominate an image, list it on the bottom of this page with a three-tier heading, (===Example===), and briefly explain why you think the image should be given featured status.

This is another great image. It appears cinematic, which is rare for the TES series.

After an image has been nominated, any registered member can vote to support or oppose each nomination. Each member can only vote once for a given image, but a member may change his/her vote by striking out the original vote and replacing it with the revised vote.

To vote on an image, state whether you support or oppose the image for featured image status. A vote should be in bold, and all votes must be signed. For example:
* '''Support''': <Comment> --~~~~ or
* '''Oppose''': <Comment> --~~~~

Commenting with your vote is optional, but if you oppose a nomination, please state how the image must be improved to get your support for featured status.

If you are not yet ready to vote but would still like to add your thoughts, you may use:

* '''Comment''': <Comment> --~~~~ or
* '''Question''': <Question> --~~~~

And fill in your concerns or questions.

UESP Administrators will periodically make decisions on image nominations. Decisions will only be made if:

  • The image has been nominated for more than seven days.
  • Five or more votes have been placed.

Nominations not meeting these criteria will be left open until a decision can be reached.

Images whose nominations pass will receive featured image status on the front page for two weeks (which may be extended up to one month if there is a shortage of images), and receive a small bronze star (Featured star.png) on the top right corner. If an image achieves featured status before the present featured image's time expires, it must wait its turn.

Amazing lighting, high graphics settings, excellent framing; this is an excellent action shot of an enemy necromancer.

  • Support: This is something I would like to see in the lore:necromancy name space too. support Zebendal (talk) 21:51, 12 April 2019 (UTC)
  • Support: On the fence on this one, but I like it. Forfeit (talk) 03:14, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
  • Support: Blue flame on reddish background looks good and the image is high quality. The main downside I think is that this is the same pose that most humanoid enemies seem to make so the particular action isn't noteworthy. That said, I'll support it. —Dillonn241 (talk) 18:56, 29 June 2019 (UTC)

ON-npc-Molag Bal 03.jpg

A nice picture of one of the most cinematic scenes in the game, with Molag Bal looking very menacing in his colossal initial form.

  • Support: As nominator. --SMcM (talk) 18:08, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
  • Oppose: With half of his head cut off and with blurry textures he's not very menacing. From another angle and in a different pose this character could look lot better, but for now, oppose. Phoenix Neko (talk) 05:40, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
    • Comment: I suppose you are right, I concede that a picture of this same scene with his head fully in view and with the blurry back of his hand less in focus would be better. SMcM (talk) 21:15, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
  • Oppose: It's not bad, but I can't really tell what's going on without looking closely at the picture. Having a player character in the picture is also a minus for me, even if it's necessary in this case. —Dillonn241 (talk) 18:56, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
  • Neutral: It's a very great scene, I don't know if this picture captures it the best way, but maybe retaking it from an alternate angle or different timing would help. —The Rim of the Sky (talk) 19:07, 25 July 2019 (UTC)

A very neat candid shot, I find it intriguing how it seems like the wispmother is one with the wind in the air. The picture is very old (being uploaded just 7 days after Skyrim was released) so I'm sure this picture could recreated with better graphics in the special edition, but it still holds up very well.

  • Support: Clear visual effects + creature that I don't see too often. I agree that the graphics are just fine even for a 2011 image. —Dillonn241 (talk) 09:09, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
  • Support: Good stuff! Forfeit (talk) 04:32, 28 July 2019 (UTC)

ON-quest-The Tower Sentinels 02.jpg

A really great depiction of how far ESO has come in its character animations. This isn't even the main focus of any scene in the related quest, it's a small gem that the devs decided to put in as a way of building up the overall atmosphere of the situation. The scene itself is frightening, the Daedra are choking a sapiarch as he's hanging off the edge of a balcony to an endless abyss below, moments away from death; it's just an overall great shot.

  • Weak Oppose: I can see the appeal of this picture, but for me the dull lighting and smallness of the main subject make me hesitant to support. Also, is it just me or does the angle make the bench and banner look very isometric/out of place? —Dillonn241 (talk) 09:09, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
