Display for Plants and Minerals[edit]

Hello,

There used to be a way to highlight the frequency of a given resources or plant on the map. Has that capability been removed?

Thanks. — Unsigned comment by 108.91.140.228 (talk) at 21:18 on 22 April 2021 (UTC)

Any update on this? Was trying to do some planning for harvest pathing, and the page for Ingredients indicates this feature exists. 173.44.89.178 22:18, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
This feature seems to have vanished in the night without a trace... Nowhere on this wiki does anyone say why this feature was removed. I'm curious if it was taken away accidentally? It would truly be nice for someone here to say anything about it. Those of us who really loved using the resources availability map have been left in the dark for several years now... Please, please update! Or at the very least, even if the Show Resources dropdown can't be restored, could someone please explain why it needed to be removed? — Unsigned comment by OddlyOaktree (talkcontribs) at 19:29 on 7 July 2022‎
This is my fault...in the new map system I was trying to implement it but the canvas display system had some display bugs so I reverted to the non-canvas draw which can't display the cell grid or resource map....and then I forgot about it. For now you can view the previous map system that has the cells and resources at https://en.uesp.net/maps2/srmap/srmap.html and I'll see if I can get the new maps resource view working or at least add a link to the older maps. -- Daveh (talk) 23:35, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
Oh! Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it! --216.154.20.119 18:45, 9 July 2022 (UTC)

"Dragur Burial Mound"[edit]

Location: -48210, 76474 is marked with a landmark icon and labeled "Dragur Burial Mound". This is not a marked location in the game, and the linked wiki page does not exist. The location is documented in the "Unmarked Ruins and Monuments" section of the "Skyrim: Unmarked Places" page. It seems like this location should be removed from the map. — Unsigned comment by 24.131.134.120 (talk) at 02:49 on 23 July 2022

Off-hand, I see no reason it should exist either, but I've cross-posted this to Discord to see if anyone sees anything we're missing. Robin Hood(talk) 07:55, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
I've gone ahead and deleted it, at least for now. Apparently, it's from the Prima Guide, but I'm not aware of any discussion saying that we should add those. Given that some of them clearly aren't present in the game, we definitely shouldn't be adding them without such a discussion. Let us know if you spot any more like that. Thanks! Checkbox to show/hide specific kind of locations?[edit]

Is there a way or maybe will the the way to hide some location names and icons? I need the high resolution of the map without anything, but the option (checkbox system?) to select what to show would be amazing! For exaple show only cities, or only caves etc. Would that be possible? — Unsigned comment by ThePikol (talkcontribs) at 09:57 on 9 August 2022

Distances[edit]

First off, I know that there are no actual verified distances for Skyrim because the in-game, lore and other calculated distances are all different. However, if there was a way to identify roads on the map and perform distance calculations between places based on those roads, that would be a huge help. I obviously know nothing about the tools available here but I just thought I'd throw that out. - jelzimme

Switching to the in-game map?[edit]

As is, this map is pretty bad if you're trying to find something and there's ice all around. You can't really use landmarks like that. Is there a way to compare with the actual game map instead?

Solstheim map not working properly[edit]

Maybe it's just me or my computer, but the Solstheim map part doesn't seem to be working properly. When clicking on the arrow, it loads in the Solstheim locations, but they are just overlaid on the water and coast near Castle Volkihar, Northwatch Keep, Orphan's Tear, and the like. It doesn't display the Solstheim land or anything. Is this intention or something wrong? --Dragos Drakkar (talk) 02:20, 28 April 2023 (UTC)

That would definitely be something wrong, but I can't reproduce it at the moment. It's possible that it was a faulty wiki update that's been fixed since. Can you try again and, if it's still a problem, let me know exactly what you did that causes the issue. Thanks! Robin Hood(talk) 03:02, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
Still happening. All I'm doing is going over and clicking on the arrow labled Solstheim (DB), then the map resets to center on the area described before with an arrow labeled Skyrim. Zooming in a little bit will start showing the DB locations without the Solstheim terrain and instead the Skyrim terrain. --Dragos Drakkar (talk) 00:05, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
Hopefully, this works. Here's a link that should show what I am seeing on the map page: https://lensdump.com/i/kx65jH --Dragos Drakkar (talk) 00:11, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
Ooooh, I see what you're doing now. That's definitely something the app designer will have to look at. I'll point him towards this discussion. Robin Hood(talk) 14:46, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
Much appreciated. --Dragos Drakkar (talk) 17:07, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
Well, something has changed. When clicking on the Solstheim arrow now, now it comes up with the info box like clicking any other icon on the map. Clicking on the Solstheim title in the box links to an info page describing the locations on the island. Clicking on the Jump to Destination link at the bottom of the info box creates the same situation as before: the DB icons on an area of the normal Skyrim map. However, from the info page, I can click on the map links for something like Miraak's Temple, and that brings me to the proper Solstheim map. I can also go to the Skyrim:Maps page and get to the Soltheim map by clicking on the link for Solstheim Satellite Map. Perhaps, the Jump to Destination could be linked to the Dragonborn Satellite Map, or is the map trying that, creating this issue of the DB icons overlaid with the Skyrim map? --Dragos Drakkar (talk) 03:45, 26 May 2023 (UTC)

() Apparently, the site owner and/or one of the other developers working on the maps had put that on their as a test but forgot to remove it. So, when I brought it up, they probably reverted it to the old way of working. Robin Hood(talk) 14:32, 26 May 2023 (UTC)

Dead Crone Rock / Hag Rock Redoubt Ruin one entrance mislabeled[edit]

Location: -176660, -15199 is labeled as one of the entrances to Dead Crone Rock, but it is one of the entrances to Hag Rock Redoubt Ruin. 73.242.116.168 01:37, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for the report. I have no idea what caused that to be mislabelled. I thought it might be a bug in the game data, but I don't see anything. It's possible that it was a very early bug in the game data when our maps were created but it's been fixed since, or maybe someone edited it incorrectly at some point. Whatever the case, it's fixed now. Robin Hood(talk) 02:58, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
