"It would be foolish to discount the advice, words, and wisdom of those that behave differently than us, think differently than us, and look differently than us. For in the name of the Empire and in the name of my ancestor, the great Tiber Septim, do I sail the Padomaic in the name of liberty and conquest. But it is not only war that I wish to bring to the Eastern Hemisphere of the Mundus; it is unity, language, and speech that I seek to share and learn from those unlike us in mannerism and thought. For it is too soon that a smart man laughs at the ideas of the different man, and too late for the dumb man to adapt to the situation of the knowing man. Show no mercy in war my legions, and do not give up your valued traditions. But if you choose to ignore the traditions of others, and the love they have for their beliefs, than this conquest is already over and you are no true legionnaires of mine. This diamond will not tolerate ignorance! This diamond will not tolerate failure!"Uriel Septim V, Emperor of Tamriel

The Uutak Mythos, being a collaborative world-building project that runs concurrently with the main installments and various spin-offs of the Elder Scrolls franchise, attempts to fit itself flawlessly into the in-universe narrative that is the Aurbis. In order to flesh out the island of Yneslea in the setting, the various members of the project realized that they had to create "in-game books" of a sort in order to provide additional background lore and narration to the Uutak Mythos as it relates to the main series. These books, which range from text books recounting historical events to children's poems to works of in-universe fiction, help expand the world of the Uutak Mythos in ways that put it on a level just below the games of the Elder Scrolls series itself. Continue reading below to see all the available links to the texts that been released for the new iteration of Uutak, and explore what this fanon project has to explore in the fullest.

Who knows? You might find yourself enjoying it.

History[edit]

  • Asterus' Last Report (Written by Captain Carrot): A recovered memospore that includes the final correspondence between Asterus Cordat, the Imperial Governor of Yneslea, and Morihatha Septim, Empress of Tamriel, before the former's untimely disappearance from his post. According to its contents, it seems that poor Asterus had been searching for the hellscape that is the mythical Underworld of Echmeri theology...
  • Echkin: A Study (Written by IceFireWarden): An investigation into the origin of the giant bats (echkin) that have begun to infest Tamriel in the Second Era by the infamous Eis Vuur Warden ends up unearthing information about the Mysterious East.
  • Findings in Endusal (Written by IceFireWarden): Divayth Fyr discovers ancient history during a trip to Red Mountain, although the sorcerer doesn't seem to care too much about it!
  • Goblins: An Alternate Theory (Written by IceFireWarden): A new theory as to the origin of Goblins and other monstrous mer, and how they might be more related to elves than previously thought.
  • In Consideration of Foreign Powers (Written by IceFireWarden, Captain Carrot, Silence of Autumn, & One True Kaos): Originally written to be used officially as an Elder Scrolls community spotlight of sorts, In Consideration of Foreign Powers is a confidential letter sent from a Penitus Oculatus member to his superior on the Elder Council one year after the events of Skyrim. The contents of the letter contains several important dates, mentions a few tidbits of obscure lore (like the lunar colonies on Masser and Secunda), and discusses landmasses like Thras and Pyandonea or the Imperial Territories in the Padomaic that have been left neglected recently in the franchise (until Elder Scrolls Online, that is!), as the spymaster attempts to hammer home to his commander that the Fourth Empire needs to find strong allies quickly in the world lest they find themselves alone in Tamriel (and that the Yneslean Directorate might be the allies that they need).
  • Origins of the Shen'shiyami (Written by IceFireWarden): A historical account regarding the creation of the fabled sentries of Yneslea, who serve as the local law enforcement of the microcontinent-archipelago.
  • Remnantia for Zaida (Written by IceFireWarden): A descendant of Zaida, one of the lost kingdoms of ancient In'eslae, discusses about the historic tragedy that befell the Zaida'han and their homeland (while hinting at a more malicious retribution of their culture).

Religion[edit]

  • Akkrahz's Rage (Written by IceFireWarden): The Echmeri viewpoint on dragons and where they came from, which greatly differs from Western opinion. Includes references to the obscure jills of out-of-game lore, as well as questlines from older games like Daggerfall and Battlespire. A new type of dragon known as a khimera/chimera is also discussed, and sea serpents are also considered dragon-kin in the story.
  • A House Divided, I - Auribex (Written by IceFireWarden): The first part of the Echmeri Creation Myth, which focuses on the creation of the Aurbis itself and how the gods came to be. Uniquely discusses the concept of an original, singular "Goddess" akin to the God of Christianity.
  • A House Divided, I - Mundex (Written by IceFireWarden): The second part of the Echmeri Creation Myth, which focuses on the origins, success, and eventual corruption of the Dwemer that eventually led to their downfall and eventual disappearance from the mythic. Also references Gharen and Mithras, two dwarves from Arena that never appear again in the lore of the Elder Scrolls.
  • Death and Other Arguments (Written by IceFireWarden): A book written by the same author who wrote Lost Spirits, who decides to fully dive into the Echmeri perspective on death and souls. Makes mention of the obscure "Nether Realms" mentioned in Arena and never brought up outside that game again, as well as finally giving a thorough explanation on how souls work in the Elder Scrolls universe while mentioning the obscure "Dreamsleeve" found in Battlespire and several out-of-game texts.
  • Lost Spirits (Written by IceFireWarden): A member of the Imperial Cult writes a small supplement to Spirits of the House after discovering gods that had fallen out of favor amongst the ancient Echmer. Makes reference to obscure deities mentioned in Daggerfall, as well as jills (and a god of jills!) and khimeras/chimeras (and a god of khimeras!). And...is that Talos?!
  • Lost Spirits, Volume II (Written by IceFireWarden & One True Kaos): The Imperial Cultist above decides to dive back into Echmeri religion, writing another small supplement to Spirits of the House that discusses additional gods that have fallen out of favor amongst the ancient Echmer. Makes reference to several 'retconned'/cut gods from Daggerfall (Notorgo, Shandar, and Raen), discusses in brief some interesting Maormeri deities, talks about hydras and the god of hydras (who, in the bat elf reckoning, are related to dragons), and even talks about the Tribunal in a sense.
  • Realms Beyond the Veil (Written by IceFireWarden): An incredibly descriptive, surprisingly informative book that discusses all of the planes of existences within the Aurbis as recognized by the Echmer (and translated and simplified by an Imperial scholar). Hosts several references to ideas and concepts (the "Nether Realms" of Arena, the "Dreamsleeve" and "Weir Gate" of Battlespire, and the "Shadow Realms" of Shadowkey) found in the older games that ties them back into the main continuity of the series, as well as obscure references to out-of-game lore and "retconned" gods like Arius from Arena.
  • Spirits of the House (Written by IceFireWarden): An overview of the gods acknowledged the most in Echmeri culture. Makes reference to obscure deities mentioned in Arena (Arius), Daggerfall, and Oblivion (looking at you Mystara!).
  • The Dragon Loves You (Written by Captain Carrot): A passionate plea by the late Echmeri Acolyte Ahaxtu of the Cult of Akatosh to the Yneslean infidels, delivered shortly before his fatal stoning by an angry crowd.
  • To Be Dragon (Written by IceFireWarden): An Imperial Dracographer's journey to learn about the dragons of the mysterious east. Includes references to the obscure jills of out-of-game lore, as well as questlines from older games like Arena, Daggerfall, and Battlespire. Also introduces a new species of dragon known as khimeras/chimera, and discusses dragonlings a bit alongside Skakmat.

Folk Tales[edit]

  • Apologues of At-Hatoor (Written by IceFireWarden): A Dunmeri sermon involving Hrahndeyl (in her form of At-Hatoor) and Vivec, during a teaching moment for the betterment of them both. Made in reference to an obscure scene from the First Lesson of the Thirty-Six Lessons of Vivec.
  • The Arias of Harran-Zhira (Written by IceFireWarden): Khajiiti recollections of Hrahndeyl during her twenty years wandering Nirn in exile, in which she visited the lands of Elsweyr for a time.
  • How Quluthiku Entered (Written by Captain Carrot): The story of how Gol-Thek, the Hyu-Ket spirit chief, came to be inside the world cocoon.
  • Excerpts from the Dragons of Change (Written by IceFireWarden): A book that goes somewhat into detail about how the Bat Elves view Uriel V and Morihatha Septim, two emperors that they greatly respect to the point they consider them Venerants.
  • Maestro of the Macabre - The Legend of the Ghoulish Troubadour (Written by IceFireWarden): An esteemed Loreseeker writes a historical account about the legend of a necromantic fiend that is said to still haunt the Yneslean archipelago.

In'eslae and its Various Culture[edit]

  • Echmeri Ethnicities, Volume V: The Cak'kaan of Al'saia (Written by IceFireWarden): A book that discusses the history and origins of one of the more recognizable minority groups that live in Yneslea; a desert-island folk who claim truthful descent from ancient nobility. Written by a foreign traveler with a surprising amount of sensibility and respect.

Songs, Poems, & Theater Plays[edit]

  • The Pale Book of Riddles - Arahd (Written by IceFireWarden): One book of an innumerable, and yet extremely limited, series of tomes that transcend time and space. Full of incredibly dark and disturbing humor that only a demented mind could come up with.
  • Zaitoshi's Psalms for Dawn: The Gift of A Name (Written by IceFireWarden): An incredibly popular and traditional bat elf song that is sung by the mother or father of a child during their Naming Ceremony one year after their birth. Has become something of a classic and adopted practice for Western Audiences as well.

Science, Technology, Disease, & Biology[edit]

  • Letters to Uriel VI: Regarding the Dwarven Highway (Written by Captain Carrot): A member of the Imperial Geographical Society briefly discusses the bizarre nature of the Noraken mechanical-tunnel network that interlinks the entirety of the major Yneslean underground (also known as the Dweech).
  • Phantasis Chiraeris: The Ghost-Vampires of Yneslea (Written by IceFireWarden): In a callback to Elder Scrolls Online, a member of House Ravenwatch continues her family's study of vampires by focusing her personal endeavors on the vampires of Yneslea, who are much more spiritually inclined than Tamrielic vampires (and most importantly, are a clan that weren't sired by Molag Bal).
  • The Blood Fury (Written by IceFireWarden): A renowned Restoration mage writes a cautionary pamphlet concerning a disease known as the Blood Fury that originated in the Yneslean archipelago, and discusses how it went from exclusive to the bat elves that lived there to becoming transferable to Tamrielics as well.

  • Provinces of Tamriel (Annotated) (Written by IceFireWarden): A very irritated bat elf decides to mark up a popular Tamrielic book describing their homeland, and records his thoughts about the various races and lands of the Starry Heart with no reprieve.

Magic, Salt, Exorcisms, & Witch-Hunting[edit]

Miscellaneous[edit]

The Emperor's Guide to Yneslea[edit]

The Emperor's Guide to Yneslea is a publication currently in the works by the Uutak Mythos team, being done in a similar style to the Pocket Guides to the Empire and the Emperor's Guide to Tamriel. Lorewise, the book was commissioned by Emperor Titus Mede II to be written through the combined efforts of the Scenarist Guild, the United Explorers of Scholarly Pursuits, and the Imperial Geographical Society as a subtle (but still obvious) way for him to appeal to the Yneslean government as a way to draw them in as allies against the Aldmeri Dominion before a second Great War. Unfortunately, however, a member of the Thalmor has been assigned the duty of studying and critiquing the EGY as a way to discredit the Fourth Empire of Men and potentially gain the Yneslean Directorate as an ally against the Empire instead.
